Basically this is a complaint and a suggestion.

firstly it's against al lthis "spam" we see of people asking the same questions over and over and over or commenting the same generic posts in threads over and over or answering a questions that has not only been answered in it's thread 10 times but also been answered previouslly on the forums 10 times over.

It's getting kind of riddiculous that when I come on in the mornin and "view new posts" I often only find 2-3 to post in because I don't want to waste my time reading the generic questions and answers that I know people are only posting to get the target and avoid getting banned for "true spam".

It's realyl kind of destroying the forums let alone the lack of moderation for real spam. I shouldn't really be able to come on once a day and see so much spam should I if things are being picked up by mods and cleaned what not?

So my suggestions are:

a) can we get more mods for multiple times zones who enforce the rules a bit more? I believe topics that are already topics shouldn't be getting opened again but this happens all the time. Maybe also not asking questions that are already answered in the basic FAQ thread sections? Maybe I'm missing something here but the modding seems to have slipped a lot on the forums.

b) remove the 10 post target ability for the FAQ/help section. This way regualrs like myself will know that if someone is posting asking for help or asking a question or what you are far more likely to be legitimate users needing help than people posting just to get 10 posts and a target and thus we are much more likely to answer them with CORRECT and VALId information isntead of the multitude of wrong and nonsense replies people post now because they to oare trying to get the target and what to hide behind the guise of "being helpful" when truly they are not. I really don't see a reason for rewarding people to post asking for help anyway. If you want to reward those that actually do help then maybe create a helper forum class and reward them some way through that? Works for chat why not forums? Mods then focus on modding and helpers focus on helping.

Personally the best solution of all is to remove the target altogether as it's not really attracting anyone to the game to go and post worthless posts on the forums and having these people come here isn't furthering our community at all here, it's making it worse. I would much rather a quiter forum where I can reply to every question to help people that where I feel I have to ignore 90% of the people.
In the end if people still want help they will come here and ask for it just as they do to report bugs or complaints jsut as they did long before the target was brought in, the target hasn't helped the game or the forums in the slightest, it's hindered except in the regard of giving everyone 50TP. They ahpapily took the 100 TP away from the other game targets and people got past that so the forum target shouldn't be much of a push either.

If you want to replace the 50TP targets maybe make a few other targets to fill their gap that don't actually ruin the forums. Imagine if they made a "post 50 chat posts" ( or even the 10 ) target after all, what a nightmare that would be.

well...u have a valid point there, although i dont' know if the removal of the target would be the best solution. one thing i d agree. ppl see the 50 tp's reward and they dont' care about anything else, they just come here and spam away :S
even the threat of having -50 tp's doens't seem to put some sense into them :s
