After seeing this thread open back up, I had to go YouTube some old World Class Championship Wrestling matches. WWE and TNA should take a page out their books. Make the matches 30 minutes with less talking in between and focus on the actual wrestling. Tag teams come and go now. What ever happened to the strong tag divisions ? Some of the best classic matches were the Midnight Express vs The Rock and Roll Express or in the WWE you could even use Demolition vs The Hart Foundation. Even The Dudley Boys ( not team 3D. They are a shadow of themselves now) vs Edge and Christian.

ECW was ruined when it came back.
The original ECW was amazing, but once it became one of the "brands" of WWE, it went down the drains. One of the main reasons for this is due to the PG rating of WWE shows.

I agree ! The original ECW was unique and should never of been re-launched. It was and still is a classic style of wrestling that has spawned many copies including WWE. I also agree that Tag Team wrestling has been badly neglected by the big feds over the last few years. I remember when you had the likes of the Steiners, Road Warriors, The Freebirds, Demolition, Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, Brain Busters, Midnight Express and i could go on! I loved these teams and the classic tag matches in which they all competed. And who could forget how many superstars started as tag team wrestlers.

True that, but don't forgetECW had a japan counterpart in FMW. Very few have seen matches from FMW as they were more hardcore than that of ECW, save for the barbed-wire match between Sabu and Terry Funk. They had guys like Hayabusa, Mike Awesome started there. Also Masato Tanaka as well. And as far as tag teams go, the best to date, in the modern age of WWE, the past couple of years, it was the team of Morrison and the Miz. i like how i start to like a few superstars and they get a big push. Morrison and the Miz reminded me of the great heel teams of the past. they were good and just got major heat from the crowd. but still the best tag team ever, in my decision, feel free to hate me, was Sabu and RVD. come on, insane, albeit high most of the times, but charisma and wrestling skill like no other. i would have loved to see them face the original Heart Foundation though.

I had totally forgot about FMW! As for tag teams i too liked Miz & Morrision but as we all know WWE isn't bothered about tag teams which is a shame really ! RVD & Sabu great team and a dream match against the original Hart Foundation would of been great but i must admit one of my favourite teams has got to of been Steve Austin/Brian Pillman in WCW (Hollywood Blonds) now them against Sabu/RVD would be a great dream match or maybe the steiners vs Sabu/RVD when both teams were in their prime!

true steiners were god, no one could forget the time when the steiners faced LOD. god that was an awesome match. now LOD vs Steiners vs Hart Foundation vs Morisson/Miz vs Hollywood Blondes vs RVD/Sabu, now that's one hell of a dream match. top it off, 2 rings and 2 refs. just think of the possibilities and the money draw from that one match.

Agreed! And maybe make it a Double Steel Cage match !!!!! (Like the old WCW Wargames Cage) I'd but a ticket to that.......But who would come out on top? I'd personally go for either the Steiners or Road Warriors(LOD) if all the teams were in their prime.

I can't get enough of watching old harcore title matches. Crash Holly, Steve Blackman, Al Snow, these wrestlers combined Martial Arts with Weaponary and the enivioronment. I mean, Hardcore 24/7 rule you didn't know what to expect in a match, it really was that gripping. Bring back the hardcore title!

I must admit that i did really enjoy the old 24/7 hardcore title rule. It made it quite interesting viewing as it put a new spin on title matches. Though i'm not really sure how 'Hardcore' the matches were in relation to other organisations hardcore matches. I think a 24/7 rule for the X Division title in TNA would work great and could provide a lot of crazy spots.

the 24/7 rule was okay, but it really wasn't that greatfor me. you knew theyallways had crazy matches outside of the arena, but rarely did it change hands during these staged matches. but the 24/7 rule for the x-division title would be great, but then it would migrate to a hardcore title thanan x-division. so in all honesty, the 24/7 rule was just for gimmick reason and was never realy a great idea

now going back to my previos post on the 4-way tag team dream match. war games would be great for it, perhaps a perfect match for the situation. and my pick would be.....RVD and Sabu. the match in itself would be an elimination style match. miz and morisson gone first. then the steiners next. so RVD and Sabu would win over LOD. just my pick. now lets go for other dream matches next, make the stipulation, participants. lets see what the fans would love to see!

I have always been a fan of the traditional Survivor Series Match. 5 on each team. So i guess i'd like to see the following: (Obviously all in their prime).

Team 1:
Ric Flair
Sting
Big Van Vader
Jake Roberts
Sid Vicious

Team2:
Bret Hart
Shawn Michaels
Steve Austin
The Rock
The Undertaker

Most of the paticipants pick themselves but i have included 3 of my favourites: Jake Roberts: He was just so convincing in his prime, he could work the crowd like no one else and when he hit that short arm clothesline and set up the DDT i used to get goosbumps!

Big Van Vader (NJPW & WCW): A true monster of a man and a super heel! He was a breath of fresh air with his brutality and i will never forget seeing him doing a moonsault. Awsome!

Sid Vicious: Again another monster and not the most gifted wrestler but he always had an aura about him and i'll never forget when he beat Shawn for the Title and the crowd were going nuts for him even though he was the heel!

Well there you go....Let me know your thoughts.

so, an NWA/WCW vs WWF survivor series match, i like the participants. both team full of wrestlers that were awesome in their prime. so, whowould win, my thoughts would go to team WWF. the way of elimination, in my mind, would be this the rock, jake the snake, stone cold, taker, vader then sid. leaving the last 4 men being ric flair and sting vs michaels and hart (a dream tag match in my mind). ric flair would be eliminated first, then michaels. leaving bret hart vs sting. with bret winning it for team wwf w/ outside interfernce by brother owen. thats my thoughts, keep the matches coming, ill another match i would like to see in my next post. check back often!
