Well i just finished reading Mutual Aid: A Factor of Evolution by Pjotr Kropotkin
In this book Pjotr look at the importance of mutual aid, in the evolution of both the animal world and of and the world of humans. And this why we got societies in the human and animal worlds. Pjotr makes a good point in how we can see it, if we got a war. The two conflicting nations, cities, parties, or tribes, no matterr how it goes in the middel of a war, we always see the of mutual aid within the nations. Someone will try to help, the ones that are wounded and the homeless.
Quote:
And man is appealed to to be guided in his acts, not merely by love, which is always personal, or at the best tribal, but by the perception of his oneness with each human being. In the practice of mutual aid, which we can retrace to the earliest beginnings of evolution, we thus find the positive and undoubted origin of our ethical conceptions; and we can affirm that in the ethical progress of man, mutual support not mutual struggle -- has had the leading part. In its wide extension, even at the present time, we also see the best guarantee of a still loftier evolution of our race.
In this quote we see, that he thinks the evolution of the human race is not born of struggle between us, but insteed it is born by the support we give to your fellow humans.
