As like most of the other topics, the last one ended up being full of spam and nonsense post, so has been deleted and this new one made.

This is for people who have ideas for new gimmicks (gimmicks being the way the character is portrayed) in wrestling, it could be for WWE, TNA or any company at all (or just wrestling in general)

When posting your ideas, please put it in a well thought out manner, explaining as much as you can and why you think it would be a good idea.

A good example of this would be:
Quote:
I present to you a new tag team/ and or stable.... Gingers are Cool!
This idea is rather open ended but requires a reluctant face of Shaemus. I for one think he is hysterical calling everyone "Fella" with his ridiculous Irish accent. SO for this to work I think he should be paired with Heath Slater (since I am assuming at least majority of these NXT rookies will get contracts with the company) or like a Christian who tries to boost his confidence as a face.
Soooo every week Chirstian/ Heath can be like, "And C'mon Shaemus, why are we gonna win tonight?"
Shaemus will sigh and roll his eyes and say, "Because gingers be cool!" lol

Explains his idea, its quite funny as well but its simple enough to get the point across.

Another good example of a well thought out idea is this:
Quote:
One thing the WWF is missing is great managers. Back in the day, you had so many spectacular managers that made the matches way more fun. Master Fuji, Bobby Heenan, Jimmy Heart, Slick, Paul Bearer, Classy Freddie Blassie and many others helped make wrestling great. What do we have now? The WWE's idea of a manager is having some skank escort the wrestler to the ring as eye candy, there are no more classic wrestling managers. If I was running things, guys like Batista wouldn't come within miles of a microphone they'd be standing there looking angry while their manager took care of all the talk. I long for those days.

For that reason, I present to you my idea for a WWE gimmick. It is a gimmick for a new manager. You get a guy who looks fairly old and frail, you put him in a wheelchair. He's always being wheeled around and interviewed about his clients from his position in the wheelchair, and he even wheels down to the ring. Perhaps he has a nurse with a nice rack push him around in the wheel chair or something, but he'll act as the mouth piece for all the wrestlers under his management in interviews and accompany them to the ring. Of course when the action heats up and his wrestler is in a bit of trouble, the nurse can distract the ref allowing the man in the wheelchair to stand up and give illegal objects to his wrestler, or just whack him with a chair himself. Of course he'll get back in his wheelchair and pretend to be frail and helpless when the ref turns back around, making it the perfect scam. Of course you can imagine how much fun it will be when somebody actually beats the wheelchair guy up. If there's one thing I know, its that WWE fans love a good cripple fight.

Posts that wont be tolerated are short ones like "Cena in a dress".
Others (that happened ALOT in the last topic) like "more hardcore matches", "more hell in a cell" arent gimmicks at all, theyre match types...

As usual, any short posts or ones that dont add anything to the topic will be deleted, repeat offenders will be warned and / or banned.
Thank you and have fun

The gimmick idea that I'm thinking off has to do with The Miz. But it needs a lead up storyline. One where he goes insane. Here's what they could do to lead up to this new gimmick, there are two ideas I have in mind:

1 - Have The Miz endure a kayfabe injury for about a month after having been attacked by somebody who targets the head a lot to make it look realistic. And based on the current feud between Randy Orton and The Miz, and the fact that Randy Orton uses the punt, it would work almost too easily.

2 - Interbrand rivalry. Have some backstage storyline where someone is looking for The Miz which leads to everybody going on a search as an angle for that particular show. Have it so that The Miz just disappears. Nobody knows where he - OR Kane is. Until about a month or two after the disappearances, where Kane randomly makes an entrance and destroys two random people within a match. Possibly the main event, so that it leaves the audience hanging.

This will lead to Kane revealing that he has the WWE Championship, with "The Miz's" name on it. Whether The Miz is still WWE Champion at this time or if he has it forcefully vacated because of the disappearance I don't know about yet. Have Kane do a good segment, making it as eerie as possible which Kane is evidently good at.

Kane: "I have taken, and imprisoned somebody who is deserving of being locked away in Hell's dungeon for all eternity." *Raises championship* "He believes that he's awesome. But judging by the amount of ease I had incapacitating him and dragging him into the depths of hell would speak to me, saying that he is indeed; not awesome."

[audience reaction, depends on whether The Miz is heel or face].

Kane: "If there is somebody out there that hasn't already realised who I'm talking about, I've stolen The Miz and have turned him into Satan's slave!"

Or something kinda like that.

So that's the reappearance of Kane, who is now back full time. Have The Miz gone for about another month, while having Kane up against the World Champion against Big Show (I want him to win the belt) as some kind of rematch clause or something like that. Have the lights turn off completely out of nowhere for about 5-10 seconds before being switched back on to see Kane laid out on the canvas.

The week after, have Kane walking backstage and into the locker room to stand frozen to the spot, staring towards the opposite wall. Of course the cameraman will be catching his reaction before turning to the wall. The cameraman turns to investigate the wall.

"Awesome!!" written in blood, still fresh.

Same week, have Kane walking out of the building to like a car backstage or something, to see his car completely destroyed with the WWE Championship on the hood, labeled "The Miz".

Week after that, have The Miz's theme song play out mid-way through a Kane-dominated match which distracts Kane and has him rolled up for a loss.

The week after, have Big Show and Jack Swagger challenge each other to a tag team match where they choose their partners. Jack Swagger picks Kane immediately, the other leaves the other hanging, saying to wait and see.

Have Jack Swagger and Kane enter first, followed by The Big Show, who runs a short promo.

Lights go out. "Awwwwwesoooooooome!!!!" followed by a much more eerie theme song. If you listened to Kane's old theme song that had speech in it in full, the intro is more slow and eerie. Something like that.

A spotlight shines on the stage area, followed by fire bursting to life and flowing freely for a good 5 seconds. The wall of fire lowers and resorts to nothing, to see a black metal box. Whether it's thin or thick I don't know. I'd prefer it to be thin so that The Miz could punch the inside which would leave dents on the outside to make it look like somebody is fighting to get out. Either way, have the door fly off and have The Miz get out, with deathly looking facepaint/deathly looking mask with white eyes, symbols and writing and patterns all around his chest and arm area, and a little on his abdomen like a flick from the patterns with his old shirts on, except with more deathly looking designs. Make him look truly demonic.

From there, you have a rivalry. Kane Vs The Miz. Interbrand warfare. Or you could choose to use Randy Orton to sideline him and have him come back with the same appearance, with the excuse that the punt affected his thought patterns or gave him some kind of mental illness that would lead him to be absolutely demonic.

And this is how you get the demonic and insane The Miz. The reason, the lead up, the climax, and the conclusion and/or what can come out of it.

Perhaps it would be interesting to TNA polemics use the program as a wrestler Nazi Aryan.
A heel of this scale, could give a lot of controversy, discord among fans, but undoubtedly increase the audience ...

I'd like to see a gimmick about someone who came in to the business from being an average joe. It would inspire people/kids to do what they want in life, the sky is the limit. SUre, I prefer the attitude era in WWE, but since it's now PG, and it's not going to change, if you can't beat them, join them

I liked how WWE were turning Kane back into the big ol monster he was.
But then they ruined that by not giving him a clean win over edge..

Seriously, edge doesn't look like a guy that could beat a monster. He looks like a bloody cruiserweight.

A new Papa Shango/Boogeyman gimmick needs to take place.
The kids really get into it and it spooks them a bit.

I have always loved the crazy monster gimmick... but it has never really been done properly. When Kane first removed his mask and pretty much attacked everyone like RVD and set JR on fire, that was the closest to being what I imagined.

To do it properly today you would need a large wrestler... Seamus for example. Now put him in a match where he could win a title... or give him a losing streak. After a close loss he snaps and attacks the ref. Now have him continually attack either the same ref of different refs throughout the roster. This way it plays to the crowd that he attacks weaker people than him and is labeled a "monster" for it. Now just have him interfere enough so that a popular face will step in and try to stop him. Lets use Morrison as the face. Now even though the face is at a disadvantage due to height, strength etc he still fights on pushing the fans to cheer for him through the adversity. This way, both face and heel characters get over with the crowd and can play it out for a month or two

I was thinking early today about All the old teams b4 in WWE. The 1st team came into mind when i saw Rated RKO. But then i thought of other wreslting teams as well. But then i thought of an awesome Gimmick for santino. I like the Cobra he uses So why not team him up with another "Cobra" or maybe I should say Viper... I realize Santino is a jobber but he surely is a fan Attractor, as well as Orton is So why not get these 2 guys together & have a Cobra into a RKO :P

I mean think about it.

An epic Match would be like.

Alex Riley & Miz vs. The Slithering Voices for the WWE Title :p I mean we had Rated RKO & now we have The Usos & they still have Mark Henry teaming with jobbers?

So to give Santino a good Gimmick Push y not team him with someone that actually has a good Gimmick. Especially Now since WWE has barely no Main Eventers since they r injured.

Santino and Randy does seem funny, but I wouldn't see it as a permanent tag team. What should happen is that Santino becomes upset with Koslov and starts asking other International superstars to tag with him after they lost the titles. That way Santino can realize that Koslov can only be the best partner for him because of his style and mannerisms.

I got an Idea for a gimmick but it needs an intro storyline.

it starts with a buried alive match which ends by wrestler 1 being put on fire and then buried alive. over the next months the winner of the match, wrestler 2 continue to claim he have killed his opponent. after some months a man calling himself the profet start showing up around wrestler 2 telling him and the rest of the locker room that the death angel will show up to juge the sinners of the wrestling promotion. Wrestle 2 gets fed up by the propfets constant interferences and challenges him to a match. however the match does not turn out the way wrestler 2 thought because when the match is about to start a man comes down to the ring with a casket. he opens the casket and inside it wretler 1 lies. he emerges from the caskets and walks into the ring declaring to the other wrestlers that he has a list of 13 names. He informs them that there both on the list wrestler 2 pushes the prophet at wrestler 1. he uses his finisher move on him before putting him in the casket. the he declares the first name on the list has been taken down. over the next month he continues to take down the rest of the names on the list while using the ring name the death angel.

I think this coud have been a great gimmick although it might be a bit like the Undertaker/Kane gimmick

I think what modern-day wrestling lacks is the guys with a facepaint (forget about Jeff Hardy, he's not a wrestler, just a stuntman who happens to wrestle). Facepaints ALWAYS help wrestlers go over with fans. Fans can associate with the guy by wearing his colours, just like people used to with Ultimate Warrior :) I don't care if the actual gimmick would be an out-of-the-blue spaceman guy or someone else, I just miss those times of facepaints. UW, Road Warriors, Papa Shango... They were all awesome :)

What would be cool, is a nice decent abuse of power for a change. We've had it several times with wrestlers become GMs. We should do that again. Ditch this unknown RAW GM and give it to a wrestler.

Have a kinda battle royal for RAW GM and have an unlikely person win it. So we have someone who rarely wins important matches as the GM. Ideally, but not necessarily, have him have a tag partner/friend as well. His friend loses a match the week after he becomes GM and he comes out claiming that the referee cheated and counted to fast and have him fire the ref announcing that he is going to guest referee the match himself. He does it down the middle until he has enough and either does a fast three count for his friend, or attacks his friend's opponent.

Next week he has a match himself. He decides to abuse his power and make it say, a number one contender match. He goes out and promptly loses. After he loses, he again blames the referee, firing him again and announcing that he, again, would referee the match that he himself is in. End the match with him taking a steel chair to his opponent and counting his own three count, then declaring himself number one contender.

The next week he's strutting around like he owns the place making people do all his dirty work and still fixing matches/making himself win etc. Then at the end have Vince McMahon (Or someone with appropriate power) come out and strip him of his GMnessess. Vince then announces that the title match at the PPV will be a triple threat match, the champion, the GM and the wrestler the GM screwed over in the number one contender match. And just to add spice to it, Vince announces that the first ref that the GM fired would officiate the match and the second referee would be at ringside.

During the match, the (now ex) GM has an opportunity to win, but the ref refuses to count it, then again later has another chance but the ref outside the ring pulls him out of the ring. And perhaps even have the ref on the outside interfere with a chair to take him out of the equation totally.
