Introduction: What better way to welcome in the era of Donald Trump than with a new RAW reporter?!
Thats right folks, I’ve taken over RAW reports from Curtis Kash.
Last week’s article was jam packed, so I couldn’t write this or an ending, so I apologise.
I’ve taken on board the criticism I got last week, so hopefully today’s article will be a little better!
On with the show!
Show Recap: We start the show with a quick Recap of the Three for all Raw, a quick video showing the results of the Fatal 4 way, Vince selling Monday Night Raw and the announcement of the 10 man battle royale, Triple H winning the battle royale, and the announcement of the Last Man Standing match this week.
We see Donald Trump in the first promo of the night, introduced as the new owner of Monday Night Raw. He starts off with talking about how tonight is commercial free, and then announces that all ticket prices will be repaid, to a huge pop from the fans. Trump heads backstage, and we’re then greeted by John Cena’s entrance music. He says his hat is off to Donald Trump, and he praises each of his decisions so far, especially the refund. He then talks about The Miz, and how he’s been insulting him for the last few weeks, showing us a quick video recap. He calls out The Miz, and they exchange hostile words, before Cena announces a main event match between him and The Miz for The Bash! The promo continues with Cena ranting, and The Miz is eventually called A WWE has-been. Miz hits Cena, and the Miz turns and runs to the back.
Next, a quick video of Vince shouting at a Limo driver, from earlier on, as his limo has broken down.
Match 1: Six man tag Match – Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali and Rey Mysterio Vs. Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler and Edge W/ Cm Punk at Ringside Khali dominates at the start, throwing all three of the opposing team out, for Jeff Hardy to fly over the ropes and take them all down. Rey follows suit, going off the top of Khali and taking the three down again! The match continues, and after a tag Jericho faces off against Rey. With an enzugiri, Rey puts Jericho on the ropes but Edge blocks the 619. Rey is attacked in the corner, with some quick tags, but a quick kick to Edge’s head and he tags in Jeff, who gets a nice series of moves in against Ziggler, but Edge stops him with a spear. Khali tries to get Edge with the Punjabi Plunge, but Edge avoids it. Jericho doesn’t connect with the codebreaker, but a spear takes Khali down! Rey sets up for a double 619 on Edge and Jericho, but Jericho slips to the outside, leaving only Edge to be hit by it. A quick springboard off the ropes from Rey, and he takes Jericho own on the outside. Back in the ring, Hardy hits the twist of fate/swanton bomb combo, and gets the three count! The winners are: Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali and Rey Mysterio!
After the match, Punk enters the ring and raises Jeff Hardy’s hand, without Hardy realising.
Next, we see Vince outside Donald Trump’s office, and after a quick conversation with Santina, Donald emerges, telling Vince where his new office is. Afterwards, Donald Trump fires Santina!!!
Match 2: One Fall match – Primo Vs. Cody Rhodes Before the match, The Colons have a quick dig at Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, talking about the bash. Cody and Ted enter, and the match gets underway. They start by trading sub holds with each other, before Cody begins to dominate. He throws him to the outside, and then after Primo gets back in, Cody gets a 2 count. Primo fights back, picking up the pace, and we see a nice standing dropkick which is followed by a bit of action off the ropes, and a cover for 2. Cody recovers, and after a stiff kick to the face of Primo, we see a 2 count, but Primo counters again into a pin for 2 again! Primo gets up, and knees Cody in the gut, before going for a crossbody. Cody rolls through though, and gets the three count! The winner is: Cody Rhodes!
We’re back to seeing Vince McMahon, looking for his new office, and he seems to be in the locker rooms. He has a brief talk with Goldust and Hornswoggle, where Goldust’s wig is put on Vince McMahon, before he gets angry and shoos the two away. He turns, and we see Vince’s new office as one of the cubicles, which Festus comes out of!
Next, a recap of the Orton and Triple H feud we’re witnessing right now. It starts from two months ago, and it ends with Trump’s announcement about the Last Man Standing match, up next!
Match 3: Last Man Standing for the WWE Championship – Randy Orton (c) Vs. Triple H Within the first 2 minutes, we see Triple H really take it to Orton, throwing him into the ringpost, hitting his head against the announce table, and landing the spinebuster on him. Triple H immediately goes for the Pedigree, but Orton counters. As Orton goes to follow it up, Triple H hits a clothesline, then lifts him up, , before dropping him forwards, ribs first onto the barricade!Â
They spill into the crowd, and Triple H jumps on Orton, hammering punches into the face of the champ. Orton brings the match back into the ring area, and Triple H is holding his knee. He gets up at 4, but Orton kicks the steel steps into his legs! Randy Orton works over the leg, and eventually goes to pick up a steel chair. When he returns to assault Triple H with it, The Game kicks it into his face, but Orton manages to get the shot to the skull! Triple H is almost up at 8, so Orton goes back to attacking The Game. Orton takes The Game onto the table, but Triple H low blows him and tries the Pedigree, but Orton counters and hits an RKO on the table! The referee reaches 9, but Triple H gets up! The Game grabs a monitor, and slams it into Orton’s head and they fight up to the stage. Triple H hits the spinebuster on the concrete, but Orton makes it up before 10 is counted. Triple H’s pedigree is countered, but he’s up at 9. Triple H gets a ladder from under the stage, but Orton ducks and dodges the shot. They fight onto the top of the stage and Orton takes the ladder up there with them. He hits a couple of shots with it on Triple H, before wedging his knee in the ladder, and he stomps repeatedly on it! Orton tries for an RKO off the ladder, but The Game counters and goes on to hit the Pedigree, forcing himself down in the process! Neither man can get up for a 10 count, and the match ends in a draw. This match ends in a Draw, so Randy Orton is STILL the WWE Champion!
Next, a quick recap of when Punk cashed in on Jeff, and a bit of hype for the match at The Bash.
We see Miz and Maryse backstage, and Miz is still trying to follow things up with her. She tells him until he does something impressive, nothing is happening.
Now, Donald Trump makes his way to the ring accompanied by Eve and Maria. He talks about how he’s done things for the fans, and goes on to talk about the next general manager. Instead, he’ll have a celebrity host each week. Not only that, but the fans will get lots of freebies from Donald Trump. Vince has had enough, and interrupts though. They argue, and Vince tries to buy Raw back for the same price. No interest from Trump, and they continue to haggle until they settle on double Trump’s money. The promo ends with a warning from Vince, and the famous, You’re fired!
Vince is backstage now, and has caught up with Randy Orton. He announces that at The Bash, we will see the Three Stages of Hell, between Randy Orton and Triple H. The matches will be, One Fall, Falls Count Anywhere and a Stretcher match, if needed!
Match 4: Six Diva Tag Team Match – The Bella’s and Mickie James Vs. Rosa Mendes, Beth Phoenix and Maryse Mickie James starts, fighting off first Rosa then trying to fight Beth, quick tag, and one of the Bella twins is in, hitting a Hurricanrana on Rosa. A quick distraction, and the other twin is hurt in the opposite teams corner, and is made the legal person by the ref, not knowing who is who. Maryse hits a backbreaker, after being tagged in and dominates one of the twins. A couple of tags later, and it is Mickie James against Rosa Mendes, and after a bit of interference, a Mickie hits a superkick and the match is over! The Winners: The Bella’s and Mickie James!
A bit more hype for Sunday’s PPV, The Bash, now.
Match 5: One Fall Match – Big Show Vs. John Cena John Cena explodes early on, first telling Show “You can’t see me” and then knocking him to the outside. However, as we all expect by now, Big Show starts to dominate with a spear. He uses his typical moves, like the huge chops, and slows the pace right down. Each time Cena tries to fight back, Show just uses raw power to stop the attacks, and fight back. Each move from Show focuses on the ribs of Cena, making it harder for Cena to breathe. Another fight back, and Show stops it again. Show tries to charge Cena in a corner, but Cena fights back, and this time it’s working! Bulldog, Leg drop to the back of the head and a 5 knuckle shuffle, and Cena has the advantage. But, it wouldn’t last, as Show came back with a Chokeslam, forcing Cena to kick out at 2 and a bit. But Cena counters a move from Show and locks in the STF! The Miz rushes out, and stops the hold, and as Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment, Miz pushes him over, and Show gets the 3 count. The Winner: Big Show!!
As the closing shots on Raw, we see Orton in the parking lot. Triple H comes out of nowhere, and begins to attack Orton, constantly shouting; “Did you think it was gunna be over” and he then slams the car boot into the back of Orton!!!
Thoughts on the Show: All in all, I thought tonight was a good show. Most matches, excluding Cena and Show, were solid, and the LMS match was good. There was nothing special, though, not match or promo wise. Excluding the firing of Santina, and the ending of the Trump/McMahon storyline, of course. I guess I’d give tonight an eight, as it was a good, entertaining watch.
As always, stay safe folks.
