Raw Roster Breakdown |

The RAW Roster Strengths, Weaknesses and a whole bunch of other stuff
Hello, and welcome to Muzza’s views, this week I’ll be looking at WWE’s RAW roster and assessing them in talent, gimmick, mic and crowd, and potential, to get an overall rating for the star. Also I’d wish to say now, I don’t base the overall rating on an average, it’s based on what I believe the start is capable of. Also to make this clear, this is only about current, active members of WWE, so don’t expect to see Stone Cold or Mick Foley’s name in their, although they make occasional appearances they aren’t signed as a full time wrestler. I wish for all my readers to remember these are my views.
To start off with we will go with Caribbean Cool Carlito.Carlito is a fairly good wrestler with nice in ring ability, problem is WWE aren’t giving him the chance to be all he can be. I also believe that the Caribbean Cool Gimmick of his is one of the weakest I’ve seen and although I enjoy seeing him wrestle he could be better. Another thing is although he can get the crowd going he doesn’t, and his mic skills are awful.
Talent- 8/10Gimmick- 5/10Mic and Crowd- 6/10Potential- 9/10Overall- 8/10
Next onto Cody Rhodes. Man this kid stinks, you wouldn’t tell he’s the kid of a WWE Hall of Famer. I personally think he was brought into the main roster of WWE to early, I think he should go back down into the developmental rosters a bit longer before coming up. He’s got potential but at the moment he’s nothing.
Talent- 6/10Gimmick- 4/10Mic and Crowd- 4/10Potential- 7/10Overall- 6/10
Now we move on to the controversial John Cena, and I’m aware no matter what comments I make one party is going to hate me for this. I think Cena, has some of the best in ring talent in WWE he’s young and although he has a limited move range he get’s the crowd going (In a positive and negative manner). One thing I think most people agree on is that he’s currently got one of the worst gimmicks ever to make itself apparent in the WWE. I also have got to agree with the statements ‘Cena is overused’. Yes he is getting a humongous push from WWE writers at the moment and if the want him to be able to continue wrestling without becoming the next Kurt Angle they better realise RAW is more then just Cena.
Talent- 9/10 Gimmick- 4/10Mic and Crowd- 8/10Potential- 8/10Overall- 8.5/10
Next we see the Superstar Charlie Haas. This is a Superstar I see as destined to remain a mid-carder, he has an alright gimmick but it’s not backed up by his in ring work and for the Main-Eventer’s he’s as good as a Jobber.
Talent- 6/10Gimmick- 7/10Mic and Crowd- 4/10Potential- 5/10Overall- 5.5/10
Onto the illustrious High Flying Jeff Hardy. Some would say Graceful High-Flyer, others are a tempted to call it Suicidal Lunacy, but no matter what you think about it Jeff Hardy’s high flying style can get the crowd going. He’s not the best on the mic but his in ring abilities make up for it, I know if Jeff Hardy doesn’t snap is neck anytime soon we are going to keep seeing him over and over again. One thing that could be said is until recently Jeff Hardy hasn’t been given the chances he deserves, he’s been in the business longer then Orton, Batista and Cena, but then why doesn’t he have a world title to his name. I would love to see Jeff Hardy WWE champion by the end of the year.
Talent- 9/10Gimmick- 8/10Mic and Crowd- 8/10Potential- 10/10Overall- 9/10
Next the veteran of Hardcore, Hardcore Holly. Hardcore Holly is getting on in years and is fooling himself teaming with the young Cody Rhodes, he is old, he is not athletic as he used to be, and I don’t expect to see him as a full time wrestler for much longer. Although one has got to admit after all these years he knows how to get a crowd to react.
Talent- 7/10Gimmick- 9/10Mic and Crowd- 8/10Potential- 3/10Overall- 7/10
Now the one who came to save us but failed to save himself, Chris Jericho. Just joking about the first part, Chris Jericho is a talented wrestler with a lot of things going for him. He has a good gimmick good in ring ability and he can still get the crowd going with the mic, after this feud with JBL end’s I’d expect to see him in the title picture
Talent- 9/10Gimmick- 8/10Mic and Crowd- 9/10Potential- 9/10Overall- 9/10
One of the most captivating High Flyer’s in RAW Brian Kendrick. This high flying superstars, is one of the few in WWE that is still allowed, (along with his partner Paul London) to perform daring moves such as the Shooting Star Press and the 450 Splash. I see Kendrick as a man with potential not only in the Tag Team field but hopefully in singles. Jeff and Matt Hardy to of the most famous high flyers started off as a tag team much like London and Kendrick, who knows, in a few years Kendrick could be Intercontinental Champ while London has just had his appendix removed.
Talent- 8/10Gimmick- 7/10Mic and Crowd- 7/10Potential- 10/10Overall- 8.5/10
Next the egotistical self proclaimed “Wrestling God” JBL. What happened to you John you used to be cool. Your gimmick sucks you were much better along side Ron Simmons as the Acolytes, you’ve lost your touch and now your stealing moves from the Undertaker, so it appears you have something fresh? Well John it ain’t working, you were good, you were great, but now your next to nothing.
Talent- 6/10Gimmick- 3/10Mic and Crowd- 7/10Potential- 4/10Overall- 6/10
The Loudmouth that has to announce himself Misteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… Kennnnnnnedddddddyyyyy…………………………………………… ………………………………………………………………… ………………………….Kennedy.Woah the only guy who takes longer to finish his entrance is the Undertaker :P. Seriously though Kennedy has great potential he is already a “Money in the Bank” winner and has beaten countless great superstars. He has a great gimmick as the loud mouth from Green Bay, only thing is he needs to be a bit more original Kenton Bomb what a rip off and the Mic Check what is that a Complete shot STO, didn’t Edge do that in the 90’s? I mean the Green Bay Plunge is the only original finishing move of his that a current superstar isn’t using or has used. Other then that his moves are good is ability is good and I can see him achieving.
Talent- 8.5/10Gimmick- 8/10Mic and Crowd- 10/10Potential- 9/10Overall- 9/10
Now the other member of the Dynamic Duo Paul London. Basically what a said about Kendrick applies here, great wrestler.Love the high flying stunts they pull top class act.
Talent- 8/10Gimmick- 7/10Mic and Crowd- 7/10Potential- 10/10Overall- 8.5/10
Onto another personal fav, Randy Orton. Man does this guy has talent he’s fast he’s strong and he’s young and has the makings to be a sure fire WWE Hall of Famer. I like his gimmick and love the current push he’s receiving, although I got to admit I didn’t like the idea of making Orton slap the referee. Only thing Orton needs to work on is variation on the mic it’s always the same, I’m Randy Orton, I’m a Legend Killer, FEAR ME!
Talent- 10/10Gimmick- 9/10Mic and Crowd- 7/10Potential- 10/10Overall- 9/10
Behhhh.its Robbie McAlister. To be honest I haven’t seen too much of the Highlanders wrestle, maybe this is because WWE don’t put as much emphasis on Tag Team wrestling as it should. Although he looks weird he is a good wrestler but shocking mic abilities.
Talent- 7/10Gimmick- 8/10 Mic and Crowd- 5/10Potential- 8/10 Overall- 7/10
Now the long winded Santino Marella. Santino is a great Jobber, no one can deny that, he has a good wrestler and is in a good position for the WWE writers to create conflict beginning with him, I can’t see him winning any titles but I can see him as a good future colour commentator.
Talent- 6/10Gimmick- 9/10Mic and Crowd- 7/10Potential- 6/10Overall- 7/10
Now the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels is an absolute Legend in my books; the Heartbreak Kid has dominated wrestling for as long as he has been. He still hasn’t lost his touch but he is starting to get on in years and I think that one day soon he will Sweet Chin Music himself into retirement
Talent- 10/10Gimmick- 9/10Mic and Crowd- 9/10Potential- 7/10Overall- 9/10
Next the crazy feet obsessed maniac SnitskyThis guy scares me and I’m not afraid to say that. It’s not only his size that scares me he’s foot fetish is the worst gimmick ever, here you have a big powerful wrestler, a potential Kane and you waste him by ,making him a comedy. I think the only people Snitsky should beat up are the people who came up with his gimmick.
Talent- 8/10Gimmick- 2/10Mic and Crowd- 8/10Potential- 8/10Overall- 7/10
Now Super Crazy I don’t see much of this wrestler, probably because now he’s only on Heat. Good move in my opinion, I didn’t really like his Gimmick or think he was an exceptional wrestler.
Talent- 5/10Gimmick- 3/10Mic and Crowd- 5/10Potential- 6/10Overall- 5/10
On to Trevor Murdoch This guy has one of the funniest hairstyles I have EVER seen. He’s a good wrestler but not very fit and it would only assist him to lose some fat and put on a bit more muscle mass, my suggestion is don’t eat so many cows.
Talent- 8/10Gimmick- 9/10Mic and Crowd- 5/10Potential- 7/10Overall- 7/10
Next The King of Kings Triple H. This guy is a LEGEND in my books a sure fire Hall of Famer and a great wrestler. Problems he is overused (refer to my last article), I wish the writers and the creative team (which he is a member of) would stop putting him in lots of big matches yes he’s good yes he’s popular but very soon he will be a has-been.
Talent- 9/10Gimmick- 8/10Mic and Crowd- 910Potential- 5/10Overall- 9/10
Ahhhhhhh…. A pile of fat and flesh is running towards you…guess who Umaga. I don’t say this often about wrestlers with gimmicks like Umaga’s but I’m impressed. You can tell he has Fatu blood, Umaga is a powerful wrestler with natural ability. I’m amazed at how fast he moves in comparison to his body shape. Only change I’d make is gimmick, stop screaming at the top of your lungs and stop being Vince’s plaything.
Talent- 9/10 Gimmick- 8/10 Mic and Crowd- 510 Potential- 9/10 Overall- 8.5/10
Finally Val Venis, Well Val, I think its about time you closed up shop, you aren’t te wrestler you once were, so pack up before you seriously injure yourself. Talent- 7/10Gimmick- 6/10Mic and Crowd- 610Potential- 0/10Overall- 5/10
Thank you for reading my article, if I’ve left out a Superstar, I apologise it is probably because they are currently injured or inactive.

Carlito= A guy who gets tons of pushes and wastes them all. Santino= One of the guys with the best mic skills. Orton= A guy who gets little crowd reaction. Jeff Hardy= Horrible mic skills but great crowd reaction and entertaining wrestling. Val Venis= Gimmick didn't go over that great and never got a big enough push. JBL= One of the best heels WWE has right now. Ric Flair= Almost 100 (lol) but still entertaining. Triple H= Im too bias to comment. John Cena= (Personal Opinion): Id pay 49.99 to see him lose in a jobber battle royal. "Keen Eddie" Your not very keen at all if you believe Cody Rhodes isn't Dusty Rhodes son.

LOL... Your talent in evaluation: -2/10
Cena has good ring work... ROFL...
Hey man, if you're over 16 years of age, go to the doctor. You need glasses, and bad.

You did mention Cena twice, and although the analysis was about the same, the ratings were different. Try double checking your posts before actually posting them to avoid such mistakes in the future :) Just friendly piece of advice, not being a critic there
I gotta admit, I personally hate Cena, for many reasons. His gimmicks, low variety of moves (though he has been improving), and being overused by WWE, often casting aside other worth wrestlers, to name a few. One thing that gets me mad however, is his ego. Not that it's bad, every superstar needs it, but I think he doesn't have what it takes to justify such an ego. Combined with an inexcusable over-push by the firm, this makes his ego totally unbearable
Jeff Hardy is probably one of the most unfairly treated superstars of the modern era. He's been in this for too long, put up too many good matches, and risked his health too many times, still he hasn't been given the chances he deserves. I think he, along with Kane, have just done too much to still not hold a championship
Orton is indeed good, but he needs indeed something fresh for the mic to say, I totally agree with you. Agreed as well about JBL (thinking about Bradshaw and the Acolytes just makes me cry for what he has become), Umaga, HBK and Triple H
Some people just don't know when it's time to quit and go home. This year it will be Flair that finally retires, and we can only wonder how much longer people like HBK, JBL and Taker will do the same. Sad thing is none of the newer wrestlers seem to be able to cover the great gap from the retirement of such legends

sif give JBL such a low rating lol. He has 10/10 potential (real close to Vince machmon and came over from raw to be everntural champ soon)
however ur spot on about cena's move set (IMO) cause his debute with kurt angle was ALOT better than his wrestling moves today.

Great breakdown..
Very honest and un-opinionated though i dissagree with the jeff hardy ratings but the rest is great especially john cena, it's not often you get a balanced opinon on him as he's the wwe's "Golden boy" right now, and a great view on the wwe's future hall of famer - paul levasque (HHH) great but too powerful back stage (i suppsoe thats the perk of marrying the boss's daughter) though i did notice a destinct lack of diva's.... there in the roster too

Everyone is entitled to personal opinion. John Cena does not have great talent in ring but on the mic and gestures, charisma, he has them. Triple H, well, we can only respect what he has done although he is not such a great guy in real life. He does help friends though at times.

Really, saying Cena has good in-ring ability is really an over statement :) He's not that great on the mat, and his "character" is somewhat annoying (what could be expected from something made up for kids...) I agree with your evaluation of Snitsky. Even though he is huge, he can do funny things in the ring. Probably a hole new gimmick would reveal a better potencial (as it would for Kane, but this one with is old gimmick) Triple H is becoming really overused, perhaps he should be put to revitalise the tag team part with another wrestler, maybe a new guy that could use the push into stardom. As for JBL, is character is really annoying too, but I guess a guy his size could always play a part in other "giant" wars

There are some good points and there are a lot of bad. You can't score London and Kendrick higher than Cena and that's coming from a Cena hater. I really don't think he can wrestle well but he has gotten better. Recently though, he looks like he has ring rust but back to the point, Cena has better mic skills than London or Kendrick (I don't think I've even heard them talk). Cena's not the best but when he gets pumped, he can actually do a decent to good promo.
You also forgot to add Ric Flair.

Just want to make one comment. John Cena is just an example of the push of muscular wrestler with high charisma,no wrestling skill being pushed.
Jesse Ventura Billy Graham Hulk Hogan (not counting his time in Japan) Ultimate Warrior Sid Vicous Batista John Cena
None of these wrestlers will ever have a 5 star match. Yet Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, and Christopher Daniels, three wrestlers who in no way meet this fold, have layed claim to this great achievement. Yet each of these superstars have and still have HUGE ego problems. Warrior is basically psycho he is so full of himself, Hulk Hogan thinks he is the only superstar big enough to draw a retirement match out of Ric Flair, Sid Eudy thinks he is what is needed to show young wrestlers how to get muscular naturally, Batista thinks he owns the Smackdown brand. I think they should change WWE to the name of a Cincinatti based wrestling promotion. EPW- Ego Pro Wrestling.
BTW about comment #31, seeing as you have totally butchered the English language in that one post, I just want you to know it doesn't matter what you THINK, all anyone who reads your post has to do is consider the source.

I dont like to be mean because a lot of times i end up yelling at children. if you are older than 15, you are not a wrestling fan and the site needs to take away your right to write this crap. if you are younger than that, you need to be educated :) which most of us grown ups would be willing to help with but you kids usually just get mad and say, "Dont tell me what i should know. I know plenty. I love wrestling and I know who is good and not good. CENA IS GOD!!!"
LOL as long as you dont say that, I can help.
have a nice day :)

^^^ For the female Raw roster, unless you want him to rate them by hotness, then whats the point. Mickie James and the Glamazon are the only two true female wrestlers in the WWE anyways. Before I get flamed, what I meant by that is thet their the only two who can perform a decent match. Unlike TNA's knockouts, which has gotten more exciting matches than most men wrestlers, WWE Diva's doesn't even compare.
Again, that's just me.

And the whole thing was bad not just the cena part. The writing wasn't bad and you got your points across, but you wrestling knowledge is very limited. Kinda like a smart mark who cant face the reality and wishes for ignorance lol. And are you sure your 20? You get mad at people like a child would and I'm just trying to help you out man. I have no problem with people not having wrestling knowledge, I mean its not for everyone. But people shouldn't pretend to know things when they are clearly confused. I dont mean to affend you and sorry if you get mad but I just thought I should give you the truth.

And I agree with most of this Muzza except JBL! How can you not like the guy? He is an American Hero! He is one of the only people in the entire WWE that can get real heat! Everyone hates him! Including you obviously. Wrestlers like MVP, Kennedy and Orton cant do that, no matter what they have fans there cheering for them. JBL can get 100% of the crowd booing, a real great heel!

This was a very biased, opinionated report. Some interesting pieces of information, but overall not an educated evaluation on the roster. One thing I sternly disagreed with was your evaluation of Super Crazy. Just because a talent isn't being used properly doesn't necessarily mean that there is no talent. You rate Brian Kendrick higher then him, when they have basically the same style. Aside from the fact that I believe Paul London has a boat load of talent and potential once he gets off his injury.. Oh well. I always enjoy reading what people have to say, but next report should be taken more from an educated view point, and not a sign-holders view point.

Muzza: Venis started in 1998, HBK started in 1984. HBK hasn't been able to sell a move in 10 years and his gimmick of being a "heartbreaker" is hard to pull off when you're getting near 50 and look like you're near 60.
Snitsky has no talent other than being another big scary guy. He has no wrestling or selling ability to put over more talented wrestlers.
You obviously don't understand Trevor Murdoch's gimmick.
And you've obviously never watched a Super Crazy match if you give him a 5 for talent.
Santino gets a lower mic rating than Snitsky? Idiotic, just like the rest of this drivel.

Great Article, i agree with you in many parts... The thing is, HHH is overused yeah, but he has to be on top, we need living ledengs in the wwe rosters... like a Undertaker in SD! wwe needs the living legends to guide the company
But i still thinking that so much superstar who already are in TNA, the olderds ones

Bunch of crap, really. Only parts I agree with are Bradshaw & Carlito.
Cody Rhodes, Charlie Haas and Super Crazy are both phenomenal athletes with high potential. Triple H and Shawn Michaels AREN'T!
They WERE. They USED TO BE. But not anymore. Michaels has already past the age in which I think a wrestler should retire and as for Hunter, his Gimmick and Moves are too old.
As for Cena.
Again, this view is quite opinionated, but I see him as having high potential, but low Talent and a terribly boring Gimmick.
I have nothing to say about Snitsky, or Umaga for that matter.
I will agree that Marella's mic skills are fantastic.
Robbie McAllister (If that's his name) is... to be honest, I've always switched channels when he's come out. No offense to the man, but what the hell?
I don't know if you still plan on doing a SmackDown! version of this. Hopefully not, because I DO NOT wanna start going on about Taker.

I've just read every comment on this article, and guys lay off him yeah? I know some of his opinions are odd, but they are HIS OPINIONS. Yes Cena is overworked and yes who the hell watches Robbie McAlister, but because this guys gone right out and said it, we should respect that. Give him a break.

I'm not sure I even want to see your opinion, let alone think about it. Triple H should not be champ, absolute contains only one a and the Santino/Maria is just a storyline, get the hell over it.
