Hey folks, it’s good to be back for another edition of The Canadian Corner! I would first like to thank everyone who left comments, as well as, taking the time to read my first article. The feedback was positive, and the viewership was beyond my expectations. So again, thank you and I hope you enjoy my second edition! I posted my opinion on Chavo Guerrero’s comments last week, and this week, he comes out and apologizes for those comments. Now, as we seen on this week’s edition of Raw, Chavo saved his little nemesis Hornswoggle from the deadly Master Locker applied by Chris Masters. Where the WWE decides to take this, I have no idea, nor do I wish to fathom what possibilities are possible. One thing I can say is, maybe this means no more Midget vs. Chavo matches anymore, and that can only lead to a better overall show. Here is a little piece of news I found interesting, Scott Steiner may very well be on his way out of TNA. This comes stemming from a report that Steiner is a close friend of Jeff Jarrett, and it pretty much goes on to say if Jarrett goes, Steiner will not be too far behind. It is also noted that he may leave TNA because of health issues. Is this a major blow to TNA? If anyone thinks TNA will lose from Steiner’s departure should really think about keeping their opinions to themselves! This guy has been a terrible wrestler for over a decade now, not to mention listening to him on the microphone is like drinking a can of bug spray. You just don’t do it, you throw the bottle away, or in this case, you change the channel. Steiner gone from TNA is a move in the right direction. Lillian Garcia has moved on from the WWE to start up her old band. I say go for it Lillian, and I personally would like to thank this amazing, and beautiful woman for her years as Raw’s Announcers. I recently came across an Interview with one half of the Unified Tag Champions Chris Jericho. He went on a Toronto wrestling talk show, and talked about his current path in WWE. Some of the highlights of this interview include the following; He mentions it is hard to be a heel in WWE because most fans like to cheer for the heel. The “new” persona that he has was created by Vince McMahon, a WWE writer, and himself. He states that he loves it, and is doing the best work he has ever done. He then comments on the HBK feud and how it was originally supposed to go only a month, but ended up going for an eighth month span. He also states some absurd comments about how Bigshow and Him are a dynamic tag-team and work well together, and how people shouldn’t judge Jeff Hardy. This was a pretty good interview and if you have the time, you should look it up. About the comments, I think Jericho makes a great heel, however, he needs some more rope in regard to his promos. He has continually said the same thing for the past, however many months it’s been. Also, Jericho and Bigshow, in my opinion, is an epic fail! Their feud with Henry and MVP was like watching paint dry, hopefully Batista and Mysterio can make this absurdly stale storyline work. I doubt it, but one can hope! Speaking of Jeff Hardy, he has removed his social network accounts from the web. However, Matt Hardy is having some fun with his Twitter account these days. He recently posted that he was “tired of being punished for someone else’s sins.” Now many of the pundits connected this to Jeff’s situation, which was exactly the response Matt was looking for. He then posted an explanation for the tweet, stating that it was due for some of his fellow wrestlers leaving a less than satisfying tip for their waitress. He then says the reason for the “tweet” was a bet he made with fellow wrestlers that wrestling “news” sites would pick it up and run with it. That is exactly what happened, and Matt won the bet. Recently, he posted a new “tweet” that says “They Proved Me Right Again.” This is absolutely hilarious! Not only did the pundits run with it, they took it to a whole new level! To have Matt come out and make them look this foolish is an epic WIN! However, since he has the time on his hands, seeing as how he isn’t on television very much anymore, I would suggest working on what you need to work on to get back on T.V. It is said that The Rock was his classic self at the Smackdown tapings this last Tuesday. He did a promo for the anniversary show, and brought the house down with his classic promo skills. He made one very interesting comment regarding the guest host position on Monday Night Raw. He says that it may be time for The Rock to host Monday Night Raw. This would be unreal if the great one came to Raw for one night and tear the roof off an arena! Jericho and The Rock could cut a promo for the ages! It would be fantastic. Is it true, who knows for sure but I have my fingers crossed. A follow up on the Marty Wright aka. Boogeyman, situation, he has still not been reached. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m starting to get a little worried about this and hope he is alright.. Let’s talk about the Hulkamania Tour coming up in Australia. Big Daddy V has pulled out of the tour, as he has taking a movie role instead. Good call my man, this tour is going to be terrible, and is going to be a waste of money. Vicki Guerrero is on her way back to the WWE according to a recent report. Coming with her is the “new boyfriend”, Eric Escobar. Where this storyline goes, who knows, and most importantly who cares. Why are they bringing this woman back? She is a terrible performer, with a terrible gimmick. Not to mention, her departure from WWE was not exactly a nice good-bye. With the recent boosts to Smackdown T.V. ratings as of late, this is the last move I would recommend Vince does, as no one wants to hear this woman say “Excuse Me” for ten minutes of a two hour show! Well, that is only my opinion, but I am almost positive it’s the opinion of most of us! This piece of news coming up is not too shocking, but is a terrible move in my view. TNA is reportedly in talks with Terry Funk about a one night performance at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view event in Los Angeles. His role would be to interfere in the Foley/Abyss match, who will he help, not sure, don’t care. Like I said, this is an awful move, and I hope with all my heart it is not true. They have enough of these old guys messing up spots in matches already, why would you want another guy who WILL and I repeat WILL mess up his spot in the match. Foley doesn’t need any help with awing the crowd with his terrible performance, so please, Terry if it’s true, change your mind in a hurry, and don’t step in the six-sided ring, you could break an ankle trying to get into the ring. Well, that is all the “news” I have to share with you this week. My first article was an extreme success, as I have received over four hundred views! I would like to take some time to share my feeling on the comments left by certain people. First though, I would like to thank all of you for the positive feedback, it’s great to see my work is appreciated! However, for all the good comments, there was a couple criticizing comments as well. I will not name, names, but here is my response to your criticism. First, Chavo does have the right to speak up when he is in a storyline that is beyond ridiculous. However, the circumstances have now changed because of what happened on Raw this past week. Like I said, I don’t know where they are going with this, Chavo being Hornswoggle’s cousin… only Vince and his writers know, but what I know is, whatever they decide to do, it will be garbage and I don’t want to see it. There must have been a misunderstanding with my opinion of TNA taking on WWE. I didn’t say WWE is better than TNA, I said that TNA can’t compete with WWE at the moment. You can choose to argue that point, but in the end, you will lose. As far as Hulk Hogan goes, this guy is the most over rated wrestler of all time! Yes, you read that right, I believe it and will die to defend it. Sure he could heat up the crowd, but as far as his wrestling skills are concerned, I take one look at John Cena, and I see Hulk Hogan without the positive crowd response. If you want me to state why I see It that way, leave a comment and I’ll write a whole article about it. With that, I want to thank-you again for taking some time out of your day to read my article, and I hope you enjoyed it. Until next time my friends, keep that stick on the ice!
i really enjoyed your first article, however with this second article i have lost all respect for you. You have written so many times about how the 'old people' are ruining segments, parts of a match etc, yet these are the people who have defined wrestling, and you choose to slag them off? Hulk Hogan, yes he wasn't the bast wrestler, but he still went out there and made a name for the wrestling industry. And Terry Funk, yes his skills will clearly not be the same as they were 5/10 years ago, however does he not deserve one last time in the spotlight? These men and women dedicate their lives to wrestling and yet people complain when they want one last night? They say, "Why can't you just retire and stay away from the ring?" do you know how hard that must be for someone like Funk and Hogan and all those on the Hogan tour who have been doing this all their life and know nothing as well as they know how to wrestle? Seriously I think you have just became a one-hit wonder, and I sorely think that you think twice before you post another article insulting these people.

Nothing particularly good about this issue last one was way better

I totaly agree about Hogan. Anyone who dosn't like it tough, how many times are we going to see the Hogan get mad after getting massacared for 30 minutes. And then woah don't make me angry, you wont like me when I'm angry, he may as well turn green and become the real HULK. Anyway nice article man.

I also think last issue was better. Your writing is too rambling. It's hard to follow and too tempting to skim instead of read.
You're half right about the 'old man' thing. I definitely think that most of the great work TNA has been doing lately is being canceled out by the older men, legends though they may be. Their work is slow, sloppy, and uninteresting. I love some of these guys (Nash & Steiner in particular) but I would much rather see them on TV in a non-wrestling capacity. Managers, commissioners, commentators, and the like.
Terry Funk, for the record, has had 'one more time in the spotlight' about 40 times. That said, I wouldn't mind him making a surprise run-in at a PPV for the cheap pop--that is--as long as it doesn't lead to Foley vs. Funk part 800.
I also sort of agree with you about the Hulkster, but that, as you said, is a topic for a later debate.
My advice for next week's column: stay on topic, and try to avoid the less relevant news topics. Keep at it, though, buddy. You're doing well.

Okay I will admit, I did come on a little harsh about the 'old man' argument. It was a good article, but i just get annoyed at the way these ledgends are shot down for wanting one last chance at doing the only thing they know how to, they don't know how to let go of doing the thing they love, so before you shoot them down you should put yourself in their shoes. (This rant is to everyone in general, not to the article writer - i am not trying to startan argument, i just ask for people to show more respect)

I think your views are that of a small child clinging to his parents coattail. You are using these wrestlers and comparing them to now? There is no comparison. Hands down the old generations would rule in modern times.
