Chaos Awards Vol. 37

Greetings One and Everyone!

After a week on hiatus, the Chaos Awards are back!
So it’s going to be hard to wrap up 2 weeks into one, but let’s see what we can come up with!
I apologize for the delay but hopefully we can kick this baby back up again!

Onto Business!

Best Match – CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger vs. Big Show (Fatal 4 Way)
Rey winning the World Title. Something I didn’t predict.
I have one question… what now?
Is Swagger going to take “vengeance” on Mysterio for taking the world title? Is Undertaker going to return for Rey injuring him at a house show? What will happen to Big Show?
This has really got me thinking… for once the WWE has done something that I never thought would happen now. Yes, I understand that people have continually said that “Rey will win the World Title again!” which they have been saying since he lost it about 4 years ago. But this time they said it and I said, “Yeah right!”
WWE has finally hit the nail on the head. They did something that I didn’t see coming.
That being said… let’s take a look at the other side of the PPV.

Worst Match – Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston (Fatal 4 Way)
I saw more botched spots in this match than in the last 15 Divas matches.
I enjoyed the spots in the match… but they were spots. Not the overall match.
People can tell me that “I’m too hard to please.” That might be the case, but the least they could do is entertain me BEFORE those spots come along instead of doing a repeat match of Over the Limit.
In some weird aspect, this is the match that I wanted to see. I wanted to see a better match than this than last time. But no, of course that doesn’t happen.
I know that Drew CAN have good potential, but where is it? Yes, he beat John Morrison and Kane… is that it?
Now he’s been told that he is working in the company ILLEGALLY because he lost a match and his visa has expired… *cough* crap *cough*.

Best Performer – TNA
Yep. The whole of TNA. Because for the last 3 Pay Per Views in a row, they have outshone WWE.
In my opinion, Extreme Rules, Over The Limit and Fatal 4 Way have been beaten by Lockdown, Sacrifice and Slammiversary because of the overall PPVs themselves. This is not to say that I think that the PPVs sucked. There have been surprises, there have been misfortunes on my predictions, but some of the matches didn’t suck. Then again, some of them did.
I have had many a person say to me “It isn’t what you wanted to see. That is why you say that it sucked.” On the contrary, if it wasn’t what I wanted to see, then I would like it because it would be something different to what I thought the outcome was going to be. Case in point: Rey winning the World Title.
I was SO SURE that Swagger would retain. I had become like many others who would all say that Rey couldn’t win the big one again. He had it once in 2006 and after 4 years, he wouldn’t get it again. Lo and behold, he got it.

Worst Performer (Now renamed: What has Creative done wrong this week?)
Well, let us look at Jack Swagger and his choice to use the Ankle Lock.
Batista tried to use it in 2009… twice and then never used it again. So why is Swagger using it?
He doesn’t need to use it. He has a perfectly based move set as it is. There is no reason to even let him use the Ankle Lock, unless Creative has told him that they want him to have a submission move and Ankle Lock is the only one that is PG.
Actually, I’m being a bit hard on Swagger. I don’t want him to turn into Kurt Angle. I want him to be Jack Swagger. If he was able to create some form of awesomeish submission move that just stood out… he would create the fear of that finisher, in the same way that there was fear of the Ankle Lock from Angle and Shamrock. Let Swagger have his own submission move!

Best Moment – Scott Hall getting fired

Hey everyone say goodbye to the old guy!
TNA did something right! Look at the guy. His last good match (and I truly mean good) was against Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 18. I don’t think he’s had one match that would pass as 1 star quality since then! He’s too old to be in the business considering the last time we saw him on any sort of mainstream screen was in 2007 when he NO SHOWED a TNA PPV.
Scott Hall does not belong on any sort of television program associated with professional wrestling. He shouldn’t have been allowed back on TNA after he didn’t turn up to Turning Point 2007.
Good Riddance to bad trash.

Worst Moment – TNA Directors and Creative
Who said that Hulk Hogan has to show up at least ONCE at every single TNA show taping? If anything, all I want to see is the guys who have made a name for themselves in TNA actually continue with what TNA was doing before Hogan and that showed up. Or if that can’t happen, to just have Hogan backstage and mingle with the talent to try and make the product better.
I know that people think that if you smear Hogan’s face on the product people will want to tune in. But for some fans, it’s making them tune out. Yes, some people are still hulkamaniacs, part of me is still a hulkamaniac, but I don’t want Hulk Hogan to be all over TNA. I want the stars of TNA to be all over TNA.

Chaotic Top 20
Man, people just don’t want to vote nowadays.
Not one vote for TNA Knockouts this week. Oh well, they are dwindling in numbers.

The Bottle Won't Open Rant.
I was asked via my website recently:

”What do you think of the NXT Season 1 stars and the direction that they are going?”

I think that all of the NXT “rookies” have been a great asset to the company. But for some reason I think their direction is a little misguided and in some ways confusing.
Why have a NXT vs. Raw “invasion” type storyline? Yes. I will admit, it is a good idea. I like what they were doing, but do you think that it could be better? I mean, there is just something about this storyline that screams “done before”.

I can understand why people are being so hard on the rookies at the moment. Especially with Bryan Danielson being fired over the stupid PG rules that are in force at the moment.
You are allowed to have mass gang fights, beat up the elderly and throw them in a car, crash into other cars to hurt the said elderly people, destroy an entire set because you want to make a statement… but don’t you EVER choke someone with a neck tie. You’ll get fired for it.

Now, it was known that the WINNER of NXT would get a contract and a title opportunity at their choosing. Now, they ALL have contracts and Barrett doesn’t have the title opportunity.
So what was NXT for? To get the 7 guys noticed first before they started this whole thing on Raw? Seriously, was the entire purpose of NXT to just get the 8 guys noticed in a mainstream WWE Audience before putting them onto the main roster?
You could’ve put Bryan Danielson on the main roster 3 years ago and he’d be the biggest name in the company. In fact, you could’ve put anyone at the top of the list three years ago, just as long as they were the ones to end Cena’s year long reign with the WWE Title. They’d be the biggest name in the WWE if one of them did that instead of Orton.

Okay, they all have contracts. Now what? They attack Vince? I’m well and truly lost on what they want to do with the NXT rookies. At this point, I’m not even caring. They have had a month of these run ins. They have come into a PPV Main Event and messed up the WWE Championship ending. Of course, I know that it was planned and everything, but was it REALLY worth it?

All of this is reminding me of something… something called “The Band”. Not sure if anyone has heard of it.

The nWo is back… and it’s in rookie form!

Thank you for tuning into another instalment of the Chaos Awards! Halfway through the year, but we still have a long way to go!

I’m The Nemesis, you've been a reader.

Fatal-4-Way was ok, but my favorite match was The Miz vs. R-Truth, I mean did you see that match! That was a Wrestlemania quality match, obviously the best match of the PPV, possibly the year.

You made some good points, the WWE creative is suffering. I Hope they can get their crap together.
