Highland View: Hire, Fire or Leave?
Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to yet another exciting edition of Highland View, I thank you for joining me today and I hope you enjoy your stay. Now as always I try to bring you something different so today I will look at which wrestlers I would hire, fire or leave alone if I was in charge of the WWE right now. So let’s get to it!
Jeff Hardy
Now I’ll grant you that Jeff H is a fairly good (ie- high flying) wrestler and in that regard he’s good. It’s just with all the court cases and drug offences I couldn’t hire or keep him. If I were TNA I’d fire him for good before he does anything else even stupider. Look at the Victory Road PPV, Jeff didn’t have a clue as to which planet he was on. I know that you can’t judge people by one thing they did, but come ON! In a multi-million dollar ‘sport’ in which you are in the main event of a Pay Per View and you turned up well drunk and high out of your face. Do you really think that leaves the best of impressions on people? Then we move onto the tens of court cases this guy has had. After all the cases he finally admitted he took drugs and got absolutely nothing, in the judicial system, for it. Come on 10 days, really? Really? Honestly I’d rather leave this guy and see him become decent again rather than risk signing him and risk him self-destruction
Ric Flair
Honestly how on earth is this guy still wrestling? He is seriously nearing the retirement age, and I am not joking! There is no way I want an old flabby man, who’s at least 10 years past his prime, wrestling for me. The guy probably has more chance of getting a hernia than he does of actually looking decent in the ring. It still worries me that TNA seems to think that hiring old WWE-has beens like Flair and Foley to wrestle was a good idea. Honestly it isn’t, you know what would be a good idea htough? Invading the indy promotions and getting some of the best there before they go elsewhere, like the WWE. Need an example? CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Before you rant on that they went to TNA look at the facts, they were barely there and have spend longer in the WWE, point proven.
Goldust
Now I know with Goldie being injured and all he hasn’t been on TV so firing him for that isn’t quite good enough. However I wouldn’t want GOldush around in the WWE, he’s a little too old to be a wrestler. Plus his ‘storylines’ were really a pile of rubbish. I mean the whole NXT garbage with Aksana just made me want to watch a divas match instead! You know things have got bad on the WWE when a diva’s match is more interesting to watch! Now what I am trying to say here is that I wouldn’t ‘fire/release’ Goldust, I would make him a backstage guy, kind of like Finaly was before he got fired, which for me was wrong, but enough of that. Goldust could really help out the younger comes who are coming through the ranks in the WWE. Competition these days are so tough that Goldust could help them to deal with never getting picked for ANYTHING, ever!
Finaly
Yes as I mentioned above Finaly, for me, was fired for all the wrong reasons. Yes I get that he did that gimmick thing at a house show in front of the military where he messed around with the National Anthem etc.. But it was a HOUSE SHOW! Look at when the WWE came to the UK, the took the mickey out of the Queen for crying out loud! A ruling monarch! (Ruling isn’t quite the right word to use but oh well :P ). Did the UK people have an outrage and demand Cole be fired, no that is every WWE’s fan job! Also a while back, I mentioned it in a previous article, WWE had a storyline involving a terrorist! How on earth those two mentioned above were ‘worse’ than the Natinal Anthem incident I don’t know. Anywho back to Finaly, apart from that incident Finaly is as reliable as a pair of old boots! Remember when Khali unfortuanetly was big in the WWE? Who helped to make him look good without jobbing? Oh yeah, Finaly and he’s awesome street fights! Now like GOldust I wouldn’t hire Finaly to have him wrestle. He would go back to doing what he was doing and make the tag and women’s division a lot better than it is now, although that wouldn’t be very hard!
Ezekial Jackson
This may come as a surprise but for me, Big Zeke has to go! Yep even though he’s a big scary muscular guy, he has no skills in the ring. On top of that he can’t do a promo to save his life so that basically renders him to be useless in my eyes. Why should WWE keep him on Smackdown when guys such as Drew McIntyre are getting next to no chance, unless you call being in the dark matches pre any show a good thing! Zeke has to go, WWE has to many ‘power-houses’ that is gets to boring and repetitive if you keep doing the same style or storyline.
Colt Cabana
Remember back when CM Punk made his legendary promo he mentioned Colt Cabana? Think just maybe that was a hint to the WWE to sign him up? Well if WWE didn’t take it as a hint, boy should they! Yes he had his previous stint in the WWE, way back in 2007! WWE should try to keep Punk happy by having Cabana join the WWE. Think of how great that tag team would be! Punk and Cabana wold restore some dignity and pride to the WWE Tag Team Division.
Brian Kendrick
Last and by no means least we have the one and only Brian Kendrick! Yes Kendrick should get his scrawny little backside back into the WWE to help to re-juvination of the Cruiserweight Division! Trust me WWE, you have the guys to make it happen, Sin Botcha, Bourne, Mysterio, to name a few. Plus if you don’t think that is enough you can spend some of the millions and millions of dollars you have to sign some GOOD cruiserweight s and bring back one of the best division that you ever had. Plus Kendrick never really got his full justice. WWE made him job a main event title match and then released him a few months later. Boy isn’t that really fair!
Well thank you all once again for joining me, I hope you enjoyed your stay! Have a different opinion on who should be hired/fired? Comment below, if you have any other feedback for me, feel free to post it in the comment section below. I always appreciate your feedback :)
