 Highland View: My Favourite WWE Superstars

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to yet another exciting edition of Highland View! Today I shall be looking at some of my favourite modern day (ie- in WWE right now) WWE superstars! Now, in no particular order, let’s get to it!

Now to start off with of course he would be up there he is of course Drew McIntyre! Yes by far in my opinion one of the best younger guys the WWE has. He has proven his ability to become and stay and pretty decent heel, his feud with Jo-Mo was both funny as well as slightly entertaining! I have in previous Highland View’s moaned and groaned about Drew McIntyre so I shall cut it short and save you guys the eye-ache. So here it goes. WWE what on EARTH are you doing? Honestly goodness knows how many times I have said he is one of the more talented guys on your roster and still you don’t use him! The guy is CLEAN. Yes he had his divorce with Tiffany but he’s had NOTHING else. You get Botch Cara and within a few months he’s already suspended for violation wellness policy. Great one there WWE!

Now you may be surprised but I actually quite like Randy Orton! Yes I know hate on me all you will but the guy is talented in the ring. I will never deny that, heck I’ll put my hand up right now and say that he is one of the better talents the WWE has had over the past few years! Yes he has his ‘moves of doom’, suplex, backbreaker, DDT, RKO/Punt, Pin.  But most wrestlers have a similar style thing.  Hogan, Cena, Rock, even Punk! It just goes to show that even the greatest need something to fall back on.  However, what I, and many other don’t like is WWE’s constant over-use of him. “Oh we don’t know what to do, instead of taking a risk we’ll give it to Orton/Cena again”. I know you’ve heard this time and time again, but you’ll keep hearing it till WWE starts changing it.

Now onto a superstar who is a bit ironic for me to talk about, Evan Bourne. Yes the high-flying maniac does make it onto the Highland list. He is pretty darn amazing in the ring. Half the stuff he does makes Mysterio look like he’s going in slow motion! If you could fix Botch Cara and make Bourne face Cara then it would be a pretty darn good match. You need proof? On WWE superstars, the WORST wrestling show since nobody gives a Xylophone Thanks (NXT), Bourne and McIntyre drew some HEAT and POP’s! If the guy can do that then clearly he can wrestle pretty darn well, or he can sell darn well whichever way you look at it the cookie crumbles the same way.  Obviously right now really isn’t the best time for me to talk about Evan seeing as he just violated the Wellness policy. Other than that, best of luck Evan hope you have a successful career in the WWE.

Keeping with the controversial wrestlers my next guest is none other than Jo-Mo aka John Morrison! Now you may be wondering why is Jo-Mo controversial/good and I’ll tell you. Controversial, he made a hissy fit when Stratus got picked over his girlfriend at WrestleMania. Yes granted you want the best for the one you love, but come on mate. Stratus was also making her re-appearance with the WWE. Anyway Jo-Mo is pretty good, not the best the WWE has ever had but still pretty good. He’s got, the look, the body and he can also be pretty darn funny. It’s a shame that WWE really didn’t use him to his full potential (ie- WWE/WHC Champ). You may see this as being strange but there are rumors going around that Jo-Mo is TNA bound. Now that would be some loss for WWE.

Now my penultimate wrestler is Ladberto Del Rio! Yes the man who right now is WWE champion and probably will be for the foreseeable future. At first I didn’t really like Ladberto, there was something about his gimmick which didn’t suit him. Now that WWE has given Ladberto a shot at a generic heel gimmick he makes it work. Obviously his mic skills need a little bit of brushing up but other than that he’s solid. His dad was one of the best Mexican wrestlers over the past few decades! Now you may wonder why I call him Ladberto, simple. The guy gets about 3 main event title reigns taken away from him and he didn’t care. He just took it on the chin and went along with his business. What a lad!

Here is it ladies and gentlemen, the final wrestler is my list is.. CM Punk! Yes of course the great one himself. No before I go on my I Love Punk spree let me say this first. I wasn’t a ‘follower’ in the sense I just went with everyone else on the ‘CM Punk is god’ etc… train. I have always liked CM Punk since I started watching the WWE. Yes his promo where he owned the end of Rarely Any Wrestling was immense. However, should we have been surprised? Not really, WWE kept him on a leash and when they decided to let him lose he hit them a home run. CM Punk has always been good, why? He went through ROH. Not saying that all ROH guys are the best but boy are they good.

Now onto our question of the article;

Question: Do you think The Rock will return to RAW over the next few weeks?

Answer: With regards to The Rock wrestling at WrestleMania I think that we will see more and more of the Rock after he has wrestled at Survivor Series. Why? Because The Rock isn’t perfect once the Royal Rumble is out of the way I expect to see a great ‘job to Rock’ train. Why? WWE needs him to be in tip-top condition. Probably as good if not better than he was in his hay-day! To do this WWE makes him face some reasonable superstars and crush them within a few minutes. This is a win-win for the WWE, they can promote the match, get Rock into in-ring shape and they get to make The Rock seem super-duper, just like his opponent.
