We all obviously know why Vince went to make WWE PG, he wants to get as many children fans as he can, he knows there are high amounts already, and they buy the majority in merchandise. For example, CM Punk, Batista, John Cena, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, etc.. The list keeps going on the top merchandise sellers, but what does that have in common with the children? All of those superstars are admired by the younger fans, Vince knows how to run a company, and in his eyes, he’d rather see a company made just for children, well.. To a point. The question is ‘Do you think taking a loss from the adult fans will make up in the gain of children fans?’.. Well only time will tell..
Many children are not allowed to watch WWE since the WWF Era went to such extreme’s.. That is probably what the parents know WWE as. Vince wants the world to know that that was the past, and we will never see anything along those lines while he is in control.
Take Hornswoggle for example. Why the hell would adults want to watch him wrestle? Seriously, how childish can you get? Having him as cruiserweight champion was a very stupid thing for them to do. What about the adult fans? The mature fans? What satisfaction do we get from Hornswoggle? None. He is there for the kids and the kids only.
Like I said said, if parents wont let their child watch it, they wont. They wouldn't care if it were PG or not. You have two types of parents. Ones who disapprove of wrestling ones who don’t. Making it PG will do nothing except change the rating you see on WWE.
I started watching wrestling when I was about 6 years old(give or take a year) and it was during the attitude era, but you learn not to take things seriously that it's just a show and to enjoy it. If parents think it's too violent or too over the edge they shouldn't let their kid watch it. The entire show shouldn't have to change because of that. Even if so, they could of made one brand PG and keep the other M, that way everybody is a winner.
If you really think about it, change is needed. Without change, we never will know what we are missing out on, but that isn’t the point I’m trying to get across. I’m saying that people were actually getting pissed off with the WWE for making it be the same old boring thing week in, week out.
Just a note, if you actually think WWE will go back to M anytime soon, you’ve got bucklies and bucklies. Another reason why Vince made the choice was because Linda is going for the senate this year, and she doesn’t want to be represented by a raunchy and such show.
Now another reason so many of the WWE Universe are disgusted with the WWE is from small things. Name changes of ppvs, name changes of moves, change of gimmicks, censoring, etc.. For example, now Hell In A Cell is called ‘The Cell’.. I know, how ‘scary’ does that sound.. And with the censoring, just say Triple H is going to deliver a chair shot on Chris Jericho, they will show you just before, quickly have a close up of the audience, than they go back to the carnage lying down there…
When I hear word cruiserweights I think of highflying, entertaining matches. Very few wrestling fans will not be entertained by these type of fights, for example, in Mexico, Luchador is the biggest type of wrestling there is, and kids love this style incredibly.. So why would Vince close the division when WWE goes PG? Who knows.. If I must say, one of the stupidest things I’ve heard in a very long time.. They need to bring back the Cruiserweight title. Without the Cruiserweight title the smaller stars have nothing to do but be jobbers for the bigger stars, which sucks until they get a push for a second tier or heavyweight title.
Now I thought I’d like to recommend a few independent wrestling companies also known as Indy Wrestling, since they aren’t usually ‘bigtime’ yet.
Dragon Gate
Dragon Gate USA has an alike style to ROH. They don't focus on storylines, promos, gimmick, etc. They don't promote their show with preposterous over the top storylines or irritating gimmicks. They rely on wrestlers telling a story in the ring. Feuds often progress through stories in the matches. Dragon Gate USA has a flashy wrestling style that appeals and appeases fans. Dragon Gate USA features light and rapid chain wrestling and technical wrestling. It also has fantastic high fliers with a great aerial style. There is stiff wrestling with brutal strikes as well. The wrestling is innovative, fast paced, unique, and extremely entertaining to watch. Dragon Gate rarely has a horrible match on their card. Dragon Gate USA doesn't water down their wrestlers either, so we get to see wrestlers based on their full potential and ability.
This promotion is one of my favorite promotions out there today. It has some of the most pure wrestling in the US. This promotion focuses solely on wrestling. There aren't any storylines or gimmicks that will overshadow championship matches. It's simply about challenger vs. champion and earning your championship opportunity. ROH is known as the third biggest promotion in the United States. TNA and WWE will focus on sports entertainment and doesn't reveal the full potential of a wrestler. ROH shows lengthy wrestling matches and its balanced. It has balanced competitors with brawlers, technical wrestlers, and aerial aces; you see plenty of contrasting styles that I find intriguing. They show focus on all divisions whether its tag team competition or singles competition. Like Dragon Gate, feuds and storylines develop through wrestling matches. It has tons of amazing wrestlers in the roster.
NOAH
Aside from Dragon Gate, this promotion is my preferred Japanese wrestling promotion. NOAH has stiff wrestlers such as KENTA, Marufuji, Taiji Ishimori, Kenta Kobashi, Go Shiozaki, and others. They don't focus exclusively on light chain wrestling like Dragon Gate. This promotion involves more physical strength with some stiff strikes and mat wrestling. NOAH has some of the greatest Japanese wrestlers in the world out there. They have some of the most brutal wrestling matches around. It's really impressive with mixtures of styles. Lots of young talented wrestlers in the roster as well. It's probably not as appealing as Dragon Gate because most fans would prefer fast paced wrestling.
CMLL
If you enjoy the sports entertainment aspect of wrestling, AAA is probably the better choice, but I myself prefer CMLL. CMLL isn't as big or fancy as AAA. CMLL is traditional Luchador wrestling. If you like the Luchador styles of Rey Mysterio, Mistico, Dragon Kid, and others, CMLL is a great promotion to watch. It has a great number of amazing wrestlers and the wrestling is unquestionably remarkable. It doesn't rely on spots or sports entertainment to build its product. It has technical wrestling as well. CMLL is entertaining to watch, but I don't watch it as much as Japanese wrestling promotions.
There are more fascinating promotions such as Chikara, PWG, ZERO1, NJPW, and AJPW. I don't keep up with those promotions consistently, but they are great promotions as well. Keep in mind that these promotions aren't sports entertainment. WWE and TNA are the only major sports entertainment promotions in the wrestling industry. These promotions are strictly wrestling and competitive matches. If you don't prefer that style to sports entertainment, I'm not sure if you would like these wrestling promotions. But I suggest giving some of these promotions a try.
Well thats all we have time for this week, return next week when I talk about what you want, yes, you heard that right. Ask myself any question or topic to talk about, and it'll be mentioned in my next article. Thank you for taking time out of your lives to read this article, and take care.

totally agree on the PG change.
I started watching smackdown since 2002 (rough guess) and RAW since 2004. Thats when you still have those Playboy competitions which are awesome. Plus with Eric bischoff (<<typo?) handling RAW, it was pretty entertaining! Now we got this stupid and predictable show to watch. WWE is turning into some sort of Disneyland IMO.
I see so many little kids discussing wrestling and they go " whats your fav wrestler? Mine is John Cena *grin*"
Where can i watch dragon gate and RoH?

Nice to see you talking about the Japanese promotions. I just got into DG:USA and love it.
On the WWE front though, well. . . If this is what we're getting as a fan base then we're going to have to stick through it. WWE really is the best franchise in "sports ENTERTAINMENT".

"Even if so, they could of made one brand PG and keep the other M, that way everybody is a winner." Thats why TNA is there, to bring the real wrestling fans into the action

The reason WWE is PG is because when the little kids watch it, then they will keep watching it when they grow up, life time fans.

it appears we all forgot that a long time ago, WWE (WWF) was PG. Vince McMahon SR. made the WWWF PG, it started out PG. Vince Jr. was the one who made WWF PG-13. And that only happened in the 90s. Fans out there need to brush up on there wrestling history.

Lifetime fans doesnt work when the teens and adults get bored. Thats why power rangers and other kid shows change seasonaly because they lose the previous generation and gain a new one.
Also would be interesting if you mentioned how we could gain access to these indy promotions.
