Lethal Injection; NXT Report 8/10/10

This is the NXT report! It’s elimination night, and my r button isn’t working >.<, so if things ae missing r’s and I don’t catch it… just know it could be worse. Anyway, on with the show.

So we start the show with Michael Cole losing a knock-out punch game against Josh Matthews…. I have no idea what it was about, but Michael looked like a moron! And Josh won, oddly enough.

We find out that the season finale is in three weeks… so we have to get rid of five people between now and then. How much fun can it be? We move to the knockout punch challenge. Quick results;

McGillicutty; 863

Kaval; 297, but dqed because he kicked, not hit.

Watson; 716

Lucky; 744

Harris; 368 but he completely missed the thing anyway. He asked for a redo.

Riley; 898

Winner, and the man who gets an appearance next week on RAW; Alex Riley

During the break, The Miz tries to make Morrison say that he wants Miz on the WWE Team, Morrison says “no, but let’s have a match to show you why we don’t need you”.

This is so stupid… you’re down one man and you DON’T want The Miz? Come on, really?!!?

So, our first match has all 6 members in it. Shows lots of potential for the night ahead….

Oops… forgot the sarcasm tab…..

 It’s a return match from last night, and I call it Team Needawin vs. Team WehaveMcGillicutty. Team Needawin starts out in control fist by Kaval then Watson all on Husky Harris. Harris finally gets control, and shoves Watson into the corner and Riley tags in. Riley is in control until Watson hits a big dropkick that knocks Riley out of the ring. Riley finally gets back in and takes back control. Watson finally gets control back and tags in Lucky… Lucky has control of Riley till Riley rolls out of the ring. Riley argues with the ref…and Lucky flies over the top and knocks down Riley as we go to commercial.

We come back and McGillicutty is in the ring and has control of Cannon. Harris tags in and shows his strength. Riley comes in next and continues the beatdown. McGillicutty comes back in and puts Cannon in some submissions. Lucky gets out of a move in the corner and hits a clothesline… and in comes Kaval who goes on a run. He locks in a spider hold, and we have the chaos moment! Once everyone is out of the ring…Kaval hits a Warrior’s Way on McGillicutty for the 1-2-3!

Winner: Team Needawin

Rating: B+

So Kaval gets a win, but is it too little too late? We’re going to find out soon. But first….

So we go through a reminder of why NeXus vs. WWE is happening, and the whole storyline we’ve been seeing. So, I’m gonna use this as an excuse to write what I think about the whole thing.

When I was writing the AW epot, I saw the beginning of this whole thing and have been watching it every week. To be fair, I never thought they got it completely right, but this has still been one of the better storylines we’ve seen in a few years in WWE. There’s been a lot of rumors and guesses, and I’ll just be another voice out there. I think NeXus needs to win…and it needs to end with Barrett and Cena. This won’t happen, as WWE has a bad habit of doing things wrong.  However, if they do this, and leave NeXus in charge, I’ll mark out!

Now we’re going through the Summeslam matches… so I’ll use the time to do predictions.

3-on-1 S.E.S vs. Big Show

What I want: Could care less… but S.E.S will do something dirty to win.

What WWE will do: Have Big Show win because he’s a giant.

Diva’s Match – Alicia Fox vs. Melina

What I want: I want Alicia to hold on to the title a little while longer.

What WWE will probably do: Give it back to Melina to keep her happy.

World Heavyweight Championship – Kane vs. Mysterio

What I want: Kane to win and hurt Mysterio so he can have his vacation. Then Undertaker comes out and attacks Kane…or just have the bell toll a few times, and Kane start freaking the hell out.

What WWE will do:  They’ll either have Mysterio win, or have Kane lose but keep the belt somehow…. Honestly, it’s all about what Rey wants anyway.

WWE Title Match – Sheamus vs. Randy Orton

What I want: I want Sheamus to win by some awful cheating thing, then turn around and get hit by a KO, and The Miz comes out and gets the title, then decides to fight in the NeXus fight.

What WWE will do: Give Orton the title, then have Miz cash in the contract.

NeXus vs. Team WWE (AW)

What I want: I want the NeXus to win, with Barrett being the sole survivor.

What WWE will do: Have NeXus job to WWE and have WWE stand tall….

That’s all there is right now. I’m sue moe will be made… so I may add them to the comment section as they are available.

As a side note, I think Morrison is about to go for a heel turn. Just saying….

The match starts slow with some back and forth. Miz gets the upper hand, but Morrison takes back, and hits a moonsault elbow drop! Miz takes control back… goes for the corner clothesline, but Morrison ducks! Morrison gets a backslide pin, Miz kicks out and goes to the outside… but Morrison goes over the top and knocks Miz down as we go to commercial.

We come back and Miz is in control. He keeps it for a while, hitting some big moves, including the corner clothesline. Morrison is hurting now after some big moves from Miz. There’s some back and forth action, but Morrison finally gets some control. Miz gains it back though quickly. Morrison gets the upper hand, and goes for Starship Pain, but misses, and lands on his feet. Miz gets behind Morrison, Morrison goes for a kick, but misses and hits the top turnbuckle and hurts his ankle. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale for the 1-2-3!

Winner: The Miz

Rating: B+

But with Morrison “hurt” it may be a big loss.

So now we have the NXT elimination!

McGillicuty is first asked who should be eliminated. He says Lucky. Kaval next. He says Lucky. Watson says Alex. Lucky says anyone but him. Husky says Lucky. Alex says (besides Matt Striker) McGillicuty because Alex is going to win.

So that leaves Alex and Lucky… and the loser is….

So, Lucky ain’t so Lucky anymore. In his goodbye speech, he says he won’t go there when asked about Kaval, and that “it is what it is”. He goes on a rant about each of the remaining guys, then says good-bye, and thanks for the fun. It was so awful, the crowd booed!

Alex says he doesn’t get how he dropped like that, but he won’t change who he is to appease the fans.

Next week on NXT, there will be a double elimination! So there will only be three people left. Here’s my Laz ranking.

#1 – Michael McGillicutty – He has the best mic skills and the best move set and the best record. If he doesn’t win this competition, I’ll eat….something. I’m out of hats at this point….

#2 – Husky Harris – He moves up because I don’t seem him leaving any time soon. He’s gonna be hanging on by a thread. I actually do like him a little, and he has that old school style. However, I just don’t see him staying in WWE.

#3 – Kaval – They’re gonna keep him. They may even make him win. They who? Whoever is voting for him. Tired of it, really. We’d rather have a loser we love then a great character we hate.

#4 – Alex Riley – They won’t let him win. He’ll be out next week because he’s a heel, which is a piss poor reason!

#5 – Percy Watson – I think people are stating to turn on him and he will end up out of the tournament by accident.

To keep you all updated, I’ll be changing my name soon to Jerry Calaway, and the name of my article will change to The Memphis Beat. Now, I’m not sure what NXT will do, as in if there will be a season 3 on SyFy or anywhere else for that matter, but if there isn’t, I will be doing an article on Memphis Wrestling History and wrestlers of the time once I turn into Jerry unless NXT is still rolling.

   As to the article, I agree that Morrison is making the heel turn, the new facial stubble has convinced me. As for Summerslam predictions.
   
   Big Show will overcome the broken hand and defeat SES, probably by beating Mercury.
   Melina of course will win, can't have both Women's and Diva's champs as heels. Kane holds onto the belt by DQ as Taker comes out and attacks Rey, then turns on Kane. Orton wins title, Sheamus pump kicks him, Miz attempts to cash in, but gets pump kicked by Sheamus and match is aborted. Tag match starts 7 on 6, Most of team RAW gets eliminated, with Cena left against Barrett, Otunga, and Tarver. Orton comes out of nowhere to join Cena, and Team WWE wins. Miz attacks Orton, skull crushing finale onto briefcase, cashes in, new champ.
