My Big Yap

Back to home

Well great times appear to be on the way in the WWE. Vickie is starting to get told to wrestle. I personally dont see that happening cause she apparently takes Months to get over a non existant injury. I think the WWE has sat up and smelled the crap thats coming off the tv. Teddy Long apparently quit on friday but we all know that he will be back bigger and badder than ever. He might even start his own faction (he will probably say that it was the directors choice) and compete against Vickie for who makes a better gm. What I think is so funny about all this is that Vickie was only supposed to be temporarily looking after smackdown when teddy had his heart attack but she drew crowds so the WWE left her in the position and placed Teddy as her assistant. I think the fans have finally stopped puking over the kissing that she seemed to consume Edges soul, and are crying out for her blood to soak the arena. I certainly hope they will have her butt beat so bad she gets pushed to the ring in a hospital bed..... I think all she needs is a sliver for that to happen but whatever.

The Storyline for The Undertaker is finally proceeding and they are giving a big push for him to be the face of WWE for a while. I know in past reports I said he cant hold a main eventer spot and be the face of the federation. Well I still think so. He should do well till they find someone to replace him. He has charisma but he needs to make his mind up about his moves. His matches are getting a little too identical. I can understand that he is getting older and doesnt have the abilities he did when he was younger but he (in my opinion) is turning into Cena. His moves repitoir is the same in every match. Sure play it safe so your insurance stays good but bring the fans what they want, and we want BLOOD!! but ummm not the gogoplata kind. Also wasnt the last ride a good finisher?

The main problem with it is WWE is using him totally wrong. People love him cause of the mystery and the effects that are put forth when he comes to the ring. He represents power and mysticism and thats what everyone loves about him.

Putting him as the main eventer and throwing camera work on him for interviews and such will drain some of that away. Will he become despised? No, people will still like him and even idolize him but the fact of the matter is people will get to know him better and as such will take away some of what everyone loves about him. He will still carry on and be the man we all know in love but too much light in his shadows and the mystery is gone.

Now mind you I am not knocking The Undertaker. I believe him to have one of the best gimmicks in the WWE. He brought the gogo to the WWE because its his little salute to the MMA that goes on world wide. He is a huge fan, but can we leave that with the MMA and not cross brands... even to try to reclaim the fans. Let the stars shine like they used to... in front of the camera. I miss the old name calling behind camera and little insults they would throw at each other. Did ric flair become so renown for his in ring fighting? No he became a superstar because of his work with the camera. We should have the superstars do that once again and bring back the old days. In my mind some of the greats in front of the camera were the bushwackers, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Million Dollar Man, Ric flair, Rowdy Roddy Piper (my fave) and tons more. Rod did alot of camera work but he is barely remembered for that. He is just known as the guy who lets his fists do the talkin. However the charisma he showed to everyone did come through with words more than action. BRING BACK THE CAMERA INTERVIEWS.

The WWE is having way too many "big men" in thier wrestling que anyways. Big Daddy V, The Giant, Khali, Batista, Mark Henry. There are a few others... the wrestlers are either starting to get way too old to do moves like they used to to up the tempo of a match or they are too fat and ungainly to make the tempo of the match flow. The need new blood. let the old stars go and sip mia tie's on the beach, or whatever they do when they retire... (reality shows). Wrestling used to be amazing with all the high flying moves and deadly high risk moves.

Heck Rey Mysterio used to be one of the best but he only has like 6 moves in his repitior now. Mainly because he is getting old and his body has taken a beating over the years. They need more Morison and Jimmy Wang types. Ones that can bring it to the ring and go ape on each other. There are only a couple of cruiserwieghts in the WWE now and they use them as jobbers for the heavy wieght guys or have the big guys job to them. I can understand that as it opens up other opportunities for matches but in cases like that for crying out loud they make billions a year and they cant afford more wrestlers? At least thats thier excuse.

I hope that they soon fix alot of the problems that plague them. They seem to be starting to with that ludacris storyline with Edge and Vicky. Hopefully the next yap will be full of praise for the inteligence lurking behind the scenes of the WWE.... then again maybe not. Either way I will now for the time being shut my big yap.

Remorce, you're right. WWE is getting slower and slower paced matches because they don't want to lose their moneymaking superstars such as Taker, Michaels, and HHH. Though I still like all of these wrestlers, their matches now are nothing compared to some of the earlier matches in their careers. TNA was the place to watch if you wanted to see fast-paced, mind-boggling action in a wrestling ring, but TNA seems to have lost it focus on the X-Division(which was the main reason most people watched TNA)and put it on its heavyweights, most of whom are washed-up WWE, ECW, and WCW wrestlers. TNA needs to put its wrestlers that they discovered i the spotlight(other than Samoa Joe, he's already getting a push). Guys like AJ Styles, Abyss, Jay Lethal, Petey Williams, and Kaz need bigger pushes. Heck, even Shark Boy probably deserves a push(not putting SB down, I like him, its just that TNA has never given him a push). And make Christopher Daniels himself again. His talent is being misused as Curry Man.

John Cena is the face of the company...not the Undertaker.

Well Jonathan Garza I dont really agree with part of your statement. The storylines the wrestlers dont have much say in. they are told this is what will happen. So for undertker being a selfish pig that should be directed at mcmahon for trying to drive up ratings. Crazy dude as for your comment I said what I said. Undertakers getting a huge push and I was refering to the entire WWE not just smackdown. mainly because everything gets shown more and better at PPVs than the shows. when everyone is thrown togeather we can actually see who gets the biggest push to represent the company and at the last ppv and the one before it was undertaker.

I agree 100% with everything you said. And to the last comment.........Cena is not, has not, and never will be the face of WWE. Undertaker is and should be until the day he retires.

I agree, the only reason they have BIG people is so they get ratings.
YOu know how Micheal Cole, Tazz, Johnathen Coachmen, JR, Mick Foley and Jerry Lawler are like, "OMG!!! 400 Pounnds just, crashing on Whomever!" or "Look at the force of that punch, just knocked him out cold!"

face of brands or the wwe as a whole are you saying the undertaker is the face of raw, no hes not he is the face of smackdown, the face of raw would be hhh because they both are champs and deserve to be, now as for ecw if they did it right rvd would be the face but as it is i would pick either shelton or kane. going on whos the face of wwe maybe we should vote on that.

totally agrue with u. undertaker is old and slow. the wwe push to many of the big guys because vince has a thing for big guys. my problem with the undertakere is that he craps on the other wrestler. last year he had to drop the title because of injury. but it take 4 beats by 3 three guys for it to happen. so undertaker crap on bastista, mark henry and edge in one move. he rarely jobs to anyone because he is a selfish pig.

You know what? You're right, there are way too many big guys in the WWE, they need more people like the X-Division in TNA. People who actually have you saying "hey, this is pretty crazy," or "OH MY GOD!!" Kofi Kingston is a start for the WWE, and Jeff Hardy is getting a little crazy again, but the WWE stills needs more and more cruiserweights to have the fans feel more into the action. Sorry for this long comment.

jonathan garza.........you would be right if you were talking about Khali, Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, or even Kane. But Undertaker does not job to anyone....not because he's a selfish pig, but because thats not in his persona. Theres a reason he rarely gets beat 1-on-1, and it's because since he came into WWE he has had the persona of the deadman....who feels no pain, and sits up when you think he is finished. Gets locked in a casket by 10 guys, or buried alive by 5 or 6, and still comes back better than ever. That's the aura Vince McMahon chose to give the Undertaker character 2 decades ago....and jobbing to ANYONE just does not fit into that aura and persona. If Mark....the man, was such a selfish pig, he wouldn't be working on 20 years with the company. He'd have left long ago for WCW, ECW, or TNA like real selfish pigs such as Kurt Angle.

the reason the undertaker is a selfish pig is because he puts himself first over the company. do u think it helps the company that no one has beat him. if u see the same guy fight the same guy over and over again. that person loses all the time you think he is a loser. so why would u want to see a loser fight? you wont. the reason the undertaker isnt fire or release is because he is friends with vince.

Thats the funniest load of crap I've ever heard. If Undertaker had the power to put himself first over the company,he would have quite a few more World Championships credited to him. And he wouldn't have had these short title reigns. You got it backwards.......Look at Raw and HHH. HHH is a good man, but realistically, he is one of the most powerful and influental people in WWE behind only Vince and Linda. HE decides when he gets to be champion, and for how long......and just how many title runs has he had? HHH is the ONLY wrestler in WWE who has the power to be selfish and put himself before the company.....can't blame him for what he does. Any wrestler would give himself a record number of championships if he could. Mark just goes out and wins matches as Vince and the WWE writers decided the Undertaker character should. That was their invention....not his. Come on down to Houston, Tx and get to know the man who is the Undertaker.......and you'll never call him a selfish pig again. The man is one of the best people you could ever meet.....and has not an ounce of selfishness in him. He wrestles to wrestle......wins and losses don't matter to him. When he retires next year, it will be the memories of all the superstars and legends he wrestled that he looks back on.......not who he beat or lost to.

Daddy, I may not agree with your view on TNA wrestlers, but I gotta agree with you on this one. The Undertaker has a reputation as being one of the most selfless wrestlers in the WWE, kinda like a godfather to most of the new guys that come in to the company. If you get a chance to find it, watch the New Age Outlaw's shoot interview, they have some interesting things to say about the different wrestler's behind the scenes.

Posted by Richard on Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Richard.....you're right. Undertaker has that reputation because that's what he is. I've known the man for 25 years, and I can say that he and Steve Williams (Austin) are the 2 of the greatest human beings I've ever known. There a lot of great people in the wrestling business and a lot of people who are not so great....and very selfish. Mark is not one of those people.....as the Undertaker in public, or as just Mark here at home, he's one of the most selfless people as you said.

Oh, and as far as TNA.......I was involved with World Class Championship Wrestling when it was THE wrestling show to watch....and was with it to see it fall from the top and become a memory. The reasons WCCW fell have nothing to do with TNA's current position, but from my past experience I feel like I know how a premier organization should be built. I may be wrong......but in my mind, for a company such as TNA to truly compete and have a chance in the long run against a giant like WWE, it DOES need to sign big names such as Angle and Booker T.......but the foundation of the company should be built not on them, but on fresh faces to give the company it's own image. Then market the best of those as the faces of the company, and introduce more fan friendly storylines to build the fan base. Most WWE fans won't watch TNA simply because they've SEEN Booker and Angle in Main Events.....as heels(people they were glad to see leave WWE). They saw Christian as a mid-card singles wrestler and only tag team "main eventer", so why watch TNA....where he is a main event talent? Joey Styles, Samoa Joe, Kaz......all the TNA talent are unknown to wrestling fans outside of TNA (lack of marketing the talent) and those fans don't want to watch unknowns in main events either. If TNA brings in a few fresh faces to highly market along with their other talent....and leave the ex-WWE heels as championship chasers instead of holders and constant main eventers, and add in some better storylines then they can compete with WWE and even start another WWE/WCW/DX/NWO type war......and with the level of talent and writing in WWE at this point, TNA could have a better shot at cementing it's place in wrestling than WCW or ECW ever did.

im sorry some of you disagrue with me about the undertaker. i give u the reason i think he is selfish. when he face randy orton at wm once orton was injured. he was made to job to undertaker. but when the undertaker is injured he didnt job to anyone. that is a fake and liar to me. so if u disagree. but i think he has some say in his character. i dont think he is a blind company man like some in the wwe. i do agree that triple h is a selfish glory hog. but he is smart about it. the undertaker does the same storyline for a long time. look at his feuds. he is currently feud with edge. has edge beating the undertaker? no. the feud before that was bastista. bastista has one won over the undertaker and he take the lost for him in the triple threat match with edge. that is two examples of how the undertaker has push two people backwards not forwards. its the same with his feud with randy orton.

Taker does have some say about his character......but it mostly has to do with his promos, like the lights going out then he appears in the ring......lightning striking....when the druids appear, etc. But he don't have much say at all in the results of his matches. Orton didn't job to him at WM......since WWE realized they had him undefeated at WM, their plan has been to KEEP him undefeated, so Orton would have lost anyway.....so, I don't consider that a job.

Posted by Daddy on Wednesday, May 21, 2008

it would be very foolish to put taker in the light because as you say it takes every little ounce of respect for the mystery and respect and btw i cant recall taker being a jabber to anyone plus remeber the rocks 12 days of cristmas to test or stone colds era with vince and DX secondly when i joined this game i chose speed purely because of high flying moves suchj as huracanrana and so forth i dindt want to be a huge big person who stands there and takes 10 millinion years to knock over its better when trhere untouchable thats what drws people deaf defying stunts such as them

P.S i have raw v smackdown 08 and i can only recall 2 sub wrestlars all not from wwe sabu and angle and benoit and punk were but now there is none....

Hmm, to say tons and tons of people are selfish pigs, people you don't know personally - that, to me, is a bit, well... selfish. And also, why exactly are people trying to turn this into another tired rant against TNA? Where the heck did that come from? There's nothing about TNA in this article whatsoever. Could you save that kind of thing for replies to articles that are at least partially about TNA? Please.
