PPV Mania with Orbit: Summerslam 2008

I tried hard on this article, and I have recently been busy beyond belief. So I am not 100% that it is 1500 words, but I tried to make it as long as I could make a PPV article be. Escpecially one that is about an up-coming PPV at that.
 

PPV Mania With Orbit: Summerslam 2008

Hello to all my readers, this is Orbit, with the first addition of PPV Mania. In weeks to come I will either be discussing, upcoming PPV’s, recent PPV’s, and sometimes even historic PPV‘s. Now on with the article.

Summerslam has been a WWE Pay-per-View since 1988. And since then has evolved into the great PPV it is today. We have seen legends born, and legends retire, all courtesy of the Summer blockbuster.

This coming Sunday we will witness the newest addition of one of the greatest WWE Pay-Per-Views of all time. We have:

#1. Jeff hardy VS. MVP (Non Title)

#2. Kofi Kingston & Mickie James [C’s] VS. Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix (IC & Women’s Championship Winners take all)

#3. Mark Henry [C] VS. Matt Hardy (ECW championship)

#4. John Cena VS. Batista (Non Title)

#5. CM Punk [C] VS. JBL (World Heavy Weight Championship)

#6. HHH [C] VS. The Great Khali (WWE Title Match)

#7. Edge [C] VS. The Undertaker (Hell In A Cell Non Title)

#1~Now, here is my take on each individual match. Jeff Hardy VS. MVP. Personally, I like the clash of styles between the two superstars. MVP has excellent wrestling skills, while Jeff puts on a great show. Just hopefully Jeff does not pick up a microphone.

My hypothesis on the victor: If I was a gambling man, I would bet big money on Jeff Hardy picking up the win.

Match rating: Well, on a scale from one to ten, I would need to give it a 7. I find that it has great potential, but don’t worry, WWE will find a way to mess it up.

#2~ Kofi Kingston & Mickie James VS. Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix in a winners take all match. I love the idea, this match is absolutely great for Santino and Beth.

My hypothesis on the victor: I have to say in the end Kofi Kingston and Mickie James will win, Santino has been on a very long losing streak, and can still look great. Why stop now?

Match Rating: Well, I like the idea, the people, but I believe the chemistry will be nothing beyond horrible. I will have to give this match a 4/10 match rating. Sorry to all the Kofi fans.

#3~ Mark Henry VS. Matt Hardy. I don’t know anything positive I can say about this match. I see it being about a 7 minute long match, that will bore us all to tears.

My hypothesis on the victor: Well, not that it really matters, but I say that they will give Matt Hardy a big come back win, to gain the ECW title.

Match rating: I already admitted I think this match will be amazingly boring, so I will give it a 2/10.

#4~ John Cena VS Batista. The extremely over hyped match, now don’t get me wrong. I think it may be a fun match to watch, but come on. It is not worth that much hype.

My hypothesis on the victor: Hmm this may be the hardest decision of the night, however I see Cena hitting one of his “Out of nowhere FU‘s“ for the win. And then a even more over hyped victory.

Match rating: I along with many other people are much to hard on Cena, his matches are fairly entertaining. And especially since this match has been “6 years in the making.” They had better make it fun to watch. My official rating is 7/10.

#5~ CM Punk VS. JBL. I am looking forward to this match, CM Punk’s Mortai move set against JBL’s brawler arsenal I see an all out war.

My hypothesis on the victor: The fairy tale will continue with Punk GTS’ing his way to the win.

Match Rating: I think this will be a great match that is worth an easy 7.5/10 rating. I am looking forward to it.

#6~ HHH VS. Khali World Heavy Weight Match. This seems fairly stupid. Khali nearly has a foot on HHH, 100 pounds, and this is called a “Contest.” I find it horrible.

My hypothesis on the victor: I think the 12 time champion will defeat the colossal man to remain WWE Champion.

Match Rating: I think it will be almost exactly like all the Khali matches. He dominates his opponent “Defies” nature by lifting him for their special. Which of course is HHH’s Pedigree.

#7~ Edge VS. Undertaker Hell In A Cell. I cannot wait for this match. Edge has been great lately, and I expect nothing less from this match.

My hypothesis on the victor: I have to say Edge will win after a brutal, long match.

Match Rating: I have been awaiting this match since Vickie called it on Smackdown! I am guessing that it will be “Weapon packed” and just as the title describes, hell in a cell. Which will call for an almost perfect 9.5/10 rating.

So Summerslam looks to be yet another great show. With an exceptionally great main event. I cannot wait to view it on the 17th.

Show rating: With all these great matches, and a few awful ones, I expect the show to be at least a 8/10. We will see just how wrong I was, when we all see Summerslam on August 17th 2008.

   Actually he was technically right for 2 1/2. He got Punk and HHH retaining, but he also said Hardy'd pick up the ECW title. Hardy won, but didnt become champ.
   
   That was quite possibly the greatest Hell in a Cell match in WWE history. I would go so far as to say it was right up there with Taker vs. Mankind or HHH vs. HBK. I will say though the fire at the end was a little too much. They should've ended it with Edge in the hole.

    and even more but there has never been a hell in a cell without mankind or hhh or the undertaker
