Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to another edition of Ragnarok's RAW Report. I am of course Ragnarok and well... you know why we're here. Let's begin...
After what was quite possibly the greatest PPV in recent history, tonight the chairman of the WWE walks out with his VP to address the WWE Universe about CM Punk. He says that no one person can be bigger than the WWE which is why a tournament will be held tonight to crown a new champion. The tournament has been set up as follows:
Rey Mysterio vs Dolph Ziggler
Jack Swagger vs R-Truth
Kofi Kingston vs Alberto Del Rio
Alex Riley vs The Miz
...and so on
He also mentions John Cena in his tirade. He assures everyone that there will be severe consequences for what Cena did and tonight will be a night no one will forget.
Match 1: Alex Riley vs The Miz
Riley concentrates on Miz's leg which was injured the previous night after he took a fall from on top of the ladder in his MITB match. He applied a few submission maneouvers as well including a One-legged Boston Crab and a Sharpshotter. Miz tried to counter now and again limping all across the ring. He stole the match out of the blue when he hid behind the referee distracting Riley and suddenly hitting the Skullcrushing Finale.
Winner: The Miz
Rating: C
Match 2: R-Truth vs Jack Swagger
Both men grapple in the beginning trying to gain the upper hand. Truth just tries to use his quickness by going for pin attempts now and then while Swagger tries to keep him grounded. Just as Swagga was going for the ankle lock Truth quickly countered it into a Small-Package and picked up the win.
Winner: (and qualifying for the Semi-Finals...) R-Truth
Rating: C
Match 3: Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston
Before the match Del Rio grabs a mic and mocks Cena for failing to finish the job the previous night.
Match goes back and forth initially -- Kofi flying in (and outside) the ring and Del Rio kicking and keeping him back to the ground. Just like the previous match, bad guy was going for submission move and suddenly good guy (i know its a huge leap to call Truth good but i kinda like his crazy personality) countered it for a three-count.
Winner: (and qualifying for the Semi-Finals...) Kofi Kingston
Rating: C
Backstage Kofi tells Todd Grisham that he's going to become the new WWE Champion.
Match 4: Rey Mysterio vs Dolph Ziggler
Dolph dominates initially not allowing the little guy to fly around like he usually does. Mysterio counters now and again but Ziggie always manages to come out on top. One attempt for the 619 was evaded by Dolph followed by a Reverse Scoop Slam which led to a close two-count. Second time turned out to be lucky for Rey-Rey though and he manages to pick up the win.
Winner: (and qualifying for the Semi-Finals...) Rey Mysterio
Rating: C
7 - Diva tag match: Team Kelly Kelly vs Team Bella
I'm bored...
Semi Final 1: Kofi Kingston vs The Miz
Just like in his precious match Kofi keeps going for pin attempts again and again and like Riley before him he keeps attacking Miz's injured leg. Match ends when Miz was able to drop Kofi on the turnbuckle and then finish him off with a Skullcrushing Finale. It did leave him bleeding though.
Winner: (and proceeding to the finals...) The Miz
Rating: C
R-Truth complains backstage about the conspiracy keeping him from winning the title and promises that the title is "gonna get got".
Promo about WWE Tough Enough winner: Andy Leavine
Semi Final 2: Rey Mysterio vs R-Truth
Like any Mysterio match the other guy dominates initially with him making a few comeback attempts but failing to keep the momentum. This goes on for a few minutes including the time between commercials. Truth was able to hit the Lie Detector but the pin attempt was unsuccesfull. This back and forth goes on and on until finally as always Rey manages to set up Truth for the 619 and successfully going through with it manages to pick up the win.
Winner: (and proceeding to the finals...) Rey Mysterio
Rating: C
Up next is the finals of the Tournament for the WWE Cham...
NO CHANCE!!!
Vince comes out and announces that the finals for the match has been postponed until next week.
Once Rey leaves, Vince repeats what he said earlier. He says that no one man is bigger than the company even if it is someone like John Cena. He justifies all the actions he took leading upto the previous night tells Cena to come out and "get it over with".
Cena says he that he knows what Vince wants to do and he doesn't care because he didn't want to go through what Shawn Michaels had to go through after the Montreal Screw Job. He tells McMahon that he didn't want to win the match the way McMahon wanted and tells him to find another opponent for Rock at WM 28 because he wants to leave WWE with his head held high. He promises that if he is fired then he will most certainly go to another wrestling promotion (I think he hinted at TNA) and tells Vince that he will never kiss his ass.
He is about to fire Cena when...
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!!!!
HHH comes out and tells Vince that the board of directors of WWE had an emergency meeting and questioning some of Vince's recent decisions they had decided to relieve Vince of his duties as Chairman of WWE and that he himself has been chosen as an interim successor to Vince.
We end the show with a very emotional and teary-eyed Vince standing in the middle of the ring as the crowd chants "Thank you, Vince"!
Ladies and Gentlemen, until next time...
