Ragnarok's RAW Report (7/11/11)

Ladies and Gentlemen, right off the bat I’d like to apologize for not writing the article last week but ah well...I’m here now. This week’s RAW airs, for the very first time, from the home of the Beatles, Liverpool.

‘What we’ve got here is failure to communicate’

John Cena comes out to a lot of boos and tells everyone that Rock will not be around even though he has agreed for a tag match at Survivor Series and that he will be on RAW next week. As for this week he reminds everyone of the tag team match he has against Awesome Truth with another partner who he claims will be a future Hall of Famer.

Miz and Truth come out and Miz reminds him that he is the only one pin him at Wrestlemania and he will never ever beat either of them again. Truth also says something. Cena starts praising his tag partner but Miz shuts him up, Rock style. Awesome Truth attack Cena but his partner, Zack Ryder, comes to save the day.

Dolph Ziggler vs John Morrison

JoMo is on a huge losing streak and he hopes to end that asap. It doesn’t go according to plan initially. None of the two are able to maintain control of the match and the match goes back and forth. During the commercials Ziggler started dominating and this continues even after the break. He continues to wear him down with elbow drops, dropkicks and neckbreakers. The momentum shifts after one such neckbreaker attempt by Ziggler. He gets launched to the turnbuckle and then DDT’ed. Ziggler tries to steal a victory a couple of times with a roll up but failed. A flash kick had Ziggler down for the count but Vicky distracted the ref. Ziggie tries a roll up again but fails. JoMo tries it too; he succeeds.

Winner: John Morrison

Rating : B

Mason Ryan vs JTG

They show a clip about him before the match. Squash match if I ever saw one. He’s got a new finsher though: Full Nelson Slam.

Winner: Mason Ryan

Ryder shares his excitement for the main event match with the Bella Twins.

Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston

Last week CM Punk ‘coerced’ ADR to agree for a championship match at Survivor so this week he really was pissed. However it was Kofi who started out strong initially. A failed Suicide dive shifted momentum. In the ring ADR takes out his frustration on Kofi and throw to the ringpost and a codebreaker on the arm later, Crossarmbreaker FTW.

Winner: ADR

Rating : C

‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not gonna take this anymore’

ADR locks it in again and CM Punk comes out. After the break ADR admonishes Punk for his ‘cowardice’ last week. He starts drawing comparison between the crowd and Punk; how they both suck, how they’re both ugly etc. ADR orders Punk to cancel the match or he’ll force him to win. The two of them trade blows with each other – verbal not physical. ADR tells him to respect him for being the WWE champion. Punk points out the one dimensionality of all of ADR’s promos. He says that he will become champion again and make the WWE Championship interesting again. ADR asks him one last time if he’ll cancel the match at Survivor. Punk pretends to think about it as the crowd cheers ‘GTS, GTS, GTS’ and finally says “NO”. ADR attacks him and tries to lock in the CAB but fails. Punk however is able to lock in Anaconda Vice. Ricardo interefers and pays the price with a GTS as ADR runs for his life.

They show a clip about the Muppets being in the WWE last week and all the antics that occured while they were here.

Jack Swagger vs Santino Marella

A pre-recorded clip is shown in which Swagga seems frustrated by his loss last week; his eyes twitched as he said it. He takes out his frustration on Santino as soon as the bell rang. Powerslam and side slam one after the other. Santino tries to counter but fails. Ankle lock FTW.

Winner: Jack Swagger

‘I’ll get you, my pretty’

Jerry Lawler introduces Kelly Kelly who is to be Maxim’s cover girl this month. KK comes out and thanks everyone. Beth and Natalya come out and mock KK’s barbie doll image. They try to intimidate her but Eve and Alicia come out and stop them. The three girls unveil the cover to everyone. One word: HOT!!

‘I can do it’

JL comes out to introduce his lates signing to WWE: Kevin Nash. Nash refuses to explain his actions from two weeks ago to anyone. He reminisces about days long gone and how he welcomed Trips into his gang and how now Trip betrayed him. He tells everyone that he can still fight and be champion.

Another promo about Brodus Clay.

‘Say hello to my little friends’

Otunga asks JL about Clay’s debut. JL tells him that he plans to unveil him in America. Punk comes out and Otunga comments about how Punk looks like a petrol station attendant. Punk laughs and introduces him to his two friends: ‘regular’ and ‘unleaded’. Beatdown. ADR comes from behind and attacks Punk until the refs come out and pry him off of him.

Awesome Truth vs John Cena & Zack Ryder

Truth starts things off against Cena but doesn’t stick around for long. Miz gets tagged in very early but even he is unable to halt Cena’s momentum. The crowd starts demanding for Ryder and as Cena is about to tag him in Miz escapes and tags Truth back in. Now Ryder and Truth go head to head in the middle of the ring. Just before commercials Ryder threw Truth outside the ring and he landed pretty awkwardly on his head. After the break Ryder is taking it to Miz with a couple to arm drags and a pretty good dropkick. Now Cena goes after Miz but fails to maintain momentum. Awesome Truth now dominate over ‘Superman’ Cena and wear him down one after the other. After one such tag Miz attempts to whiplash Truth into Cena at the corner but he moved out of the way and quickly tags in Ryder. The Long Island Z (I think that’s his nickname) quickly takes out Miz and then along with Cena goes for his trademark kick on the opponent at the corner. Now Awesome Truth go after Ryder. The momentum shift occurs when Truth and Ryder run into each other attempting a clothesline. Tags made on both ends. Cena goes through his routine and then both he and Ryder go for the five-knuckle shuffle. Cena on Miz. Ryder on Truth. Cena tries to go for the AA but Miz counters and kicks him on the head. He goes for the pin attempt. Meanwhile, Truth has taken out Ryder and helps out his partner by grabbing on to Cena’s leg during the pin attempt thereby not allowing him to kick out.

Winners: Awesome Truth

Rating : B

We end the show with Cena telling Awesome Truth that they won’t get him a second time.
