Smackdown May 23 2008

Smack down starts
    Vickie Guerrero is announced by the ring announcer. She comes out in the wheelchair pushed by Edge. The crowd gives her a huge booing! She says none of you know what it is like to run a television show like this. Despite all the pressures she still fulfills all her duties as general manager. One of her duties is to enforce the rules and regulations. All of us know that a championship can be won by a pin fall or submission she says. She states that Charles Robinson made a mistake counting out Edge and awarding the undertaker with the title. She is happy that she was at Judgement day to correct that mistake. She has a big announcement to make. I have the most extreme match ever for the world title ever, a TLC match! Edge rolls Vickie away but Vickie speaks again. Saying and by the way if The undertaker looses that night it will be his last match ever. He will be banned from all of the WWE.

Jesse & Festuz & Cherry vs Deuce & Domino & Maryse
    Festuz starts off against Domino. The bell rings and Festuz goes into battle mode and wakes up. Festuz throws some punches at domino and tags in Jesse. He picks up Jessie and drops him on Deuce. Jesse goes for the cover. Deuce kicks out. Jesse locks Domino’s arm and Domino fights hard to get out of the hold, with a lot of effort he gets out of the hold. He then throws some punches to the back of Jesse’s head. He quickly tags in Deuce. Deuce rushes towards Jesse but Jesse slides under him, Jesse gets up and hammers away on Deuce. When Deuce is down Jesse runs towards Domino. Who is standing on the apron and knock him off the apron. After that Jesse returns his attention do Deuce and does a baseball slide on Deuce who is lying down in the ring. He tries a cover but gets a 1 count. Jesse launches Deuce into the ropes tries a clothesline but Deuce dogdes it and jumps on the ropes doing a springboard cross body. Deuce tags in Domino. Domino does a body slam and tries a cover but Jesse kicks out in one. He tags in Deuce again. Festuz is pacing on the ring apron while Deuce and Domino are doing their work on Jesse. They are doing fast tagging to wear Jesse down. Jesse gets out of an arm lock and starts to fight back. He uses a swining neckbreaker and quickly tags in Cherry. Maryse gets tagged in. Cherry throws some punches and whips Maryse into the ring post. Cherry follows up with three bulldogs. She goes for the pin but Deuce and Domino break it up. Festuz and Jesse get into the ring. Festuz kicks Deuce into Cherry knocking Deuce and Cherry down. The four men fight outside the ring and Maryse quickly kicks Cherry in the nose and pins her and she picks up the win.
Winners Deuce, Domino and Cherry @ 6 min 30 Match rating 3/10
    Cherry was crying at the end of the match. A wrestler that cry’s really what is she doing in this business. She has 1 move the bulldog, she can’t handle any pain and she is not that good looking either. I would rather see a match with two tag teams without these two women or two women who can actually wrestle. But this match was a good filler. Vickie is shown backstage talking with Edge. Chavo walks in he says” I think there is a bit off a misunderstanding between la familia”. He says that he had his reasons for not walking to the ring last week. He does not want there to be any hard feelings between La Familia. Vickie says I am glad there are no hard feelings because tonight I put you in a match with The undertaker. Chavo says What tonight? Why ?. Edge says “maybe he is afraid?” Chavo says “Let me get one thing straight! I am a guerrero I am not scared of anyone”. Edge says good. Because tonight Hawkins and Rider will back you up! And even I am going out there myself! So La Familia will be watching your back!
MVP’s music plays
    He comes out dressed up for his VIP lounge. He states last week we saw my guest of tonight getting fired and I will give him the chance to give his side of the story in my VIP lounge. Teddy Long comes out. MVP says welcome to my VIP room. Originally I was going to let you tell your side of the story but I got a lot I want to say myself. Don’t think I have forgotten all the stuff you put me true when I started here. And now that you are not my boss anymore and I can say all the things I wanted to say you when you were my boss without repercussion. He says to teddy you have been jealous of my talent, my money, my hair and even my suits. He says end despite all you tried I am the best. Teddy says I don’t have to listen to this he walks away but MVP grabs him by the throat saying you do not walk away from me I got the power now. Suddenly Batista’s music hits and he comes out. MVP looks very unhappy. Batista enters the VIP lounge. MVP says don’t come out here protecting the weak and acting all heroic. Batista says hold on I am just out here to say goodbye to Teddy who made you a lot of money, me a lot of money and he was a fair manager to me. Teddy walks out of the ring Batista says and if you ever put your hands on him again I will shove my fist up your throat. MVP wait up don’t come into my VIP lounge worrying about that, you should be worrying about your stretcher match. He says and I don’t like you coming out here in my VIP lounge and being disrespectful. Batista say I was not being disrespectful he kicks a cup of the table this is being disrespectful and he goes on destroying the lounge. While MVP walks away.
Edge, Chavo and Vickie are talking in her office.
    MVP walks in saying Excuse me, Excuse me did you not see what just happened, did you not watch your own show?. Edge says what are you doing here just barging into her office? MVP yes her office not yours! MVP says to Vickie Batista just came in my VIP lounge the highest rated segment on smack down. He destroyed the whole set and I could have been injured tonight what are you going to do about it? Vickie I am going to do something how about a match with Batista? MVP hold up hold up that was not what I came here for. Vickie stop your gibberish and get ready because your match is tonight! Chavo says that’s what you get for barging into her office.
Chuck Palumbo vs Finlay
    The bell rings, they lock arms Finlay puts an elbow into the nose of Chuck. Chuck drives Finlay into the corner. Finlay locks in Chuck’s leg when he is on the ground and works on it with a little from the rope. Chuck gets up and starts fighting back he throws some punches and he does a very hard standing clothesline. When Finlay is on the ground he locks in his a healdlock and drives his knee three times into the spine of Finlay. He drives Finlay into the corner he drives his shoulder into the gut and he throws one big punche. Suddenly Hornswoggle comes out with a water gun. Chuck knocks Finlay down and goes after Hornswoggle outside of the ring. But Finlay catches him with a clothesline. Finlay goes back into the ring and outside Hornswoggle drops himself on Chuck. Finlay tosses Chuck into the ring and climbs back in but Chuck suddenly gets up and kicks Finlay in the face. He goes out and kicks Finlay in the face again. They get back in the ring again Chuck does a side suplex and tries a pin but Finlay kicks out in one. Chuck throws some punches when Finlay is on the ground but suddenly Finlay locks in an arm lock. Chuck locks in a headlock but Finlay gets back up. Chuck throws a club to the neck, Finlay fights back and gets Chuck into the corner and gains some momentum but Chuck reacts with a thunderous clothesline. Chuck locks in a headlock again and he yells “call it a night Finlay” The crows claps for Finlay but Finlay gets up and launches himself into the ropes but Chuck kicks him into the face. He kicks Finlay into his spine again when he is on the ground. He goes for a cover and he gets a one count. Chuck locks in the chin lock again. Finlay fights out of it and gains some momemtum he knocks Chuck down a few times. He climbs the top rope and does a crossbody and gets a two count. Chuck gets up and does a standing clothesline again followed by a belly to belly throw. The referee looks at Finlay and suddenly Hornswoggle is looking at the edge of the ring. Chuck grabs Hornswoggle and pulls him into the ring. But Hornswoggle sprays green mist into the face of Chuck. While Hornswoggle distracts the referee Finlay hits the Shillagh and he covers Chuck winning the match.
Winner Finlay 10 minutes 25 Match rating 4/10
    A good match by both men, they have a very physical style of wrestling. Hornswoggle was well used. They are building up Chuck slowly. He was dominating Finlay but Finlay won in the end with help from Hornswoggle.

MVP vs Batista
    The bell rings, They lock arms MVP uses his quickness to get the back of Batista and he tries an arm lock. Batista laughs and breaks it with an elbow the Jaw. Batista locks in a headlock, MVP throws a few knee’s to Batista’s leg and gets out the hold. He launches himself into the rope but ends up in a shoulder block. He runs out of the ring for four seconds. MVP throws some small punches to Batista. Batista throws a big punch but MVP dodges it. MVP locks in a headlock, Batista launches MVP into the ropes. He tries a clothesline MVP dodges it. MVP tries one but Batista leap frogs over him. MVP tries another but Batista drops to the floor. MVP keeps walking but Batista plants his boot in his face. MVP rolls out of the ring. Batista pulls him back in and does a suplex followed by cover getting a one count. Batista whips MVP to the corner and follows him but MVP does a drop toe hold Into the turnbuckle. He follows up by his devastating kick and he kicks Batista out of the ring. MVP dominates Batista and tries a cover getting a two count. Batista shows some life and lifts MVP up and drives him into the corner. He drives his shoulder into the gut of MVP two times but he looks injured. MVP falls down on the floor in the corner. Batista goes for him again but MVP kicks Batista down with a small kick to the knee. MVP climbs the top rope Batista lifts him up but MVP counters it by jumping to the outside of the ring. And he held on to Batista’s arm and he makes it bounce of the top rope. MVP goes to work on the shoulder and the arm of the animal using the ropes, the ring post. Batista fights back and throws some punches MVP launches counters by launching him into the ringpost shoulder first. MVP tries some covers and gets nearfalls. They stand up and MVP does a neckbreaker. MVP sets himself up for his superkick, he runs towards Batista but the animal quickly gets up and spears MVP down. He whisps MVP into the ropes and does a back body drop. MVP runs out the ring but Batista follows him and launches MVP into the ringpost shoulder first. They get back into the ring and Batista launches MVP into the steelring post. MVP tries a smallkick Batista blocks it and does a spinebuster. He starts shaking the ropes and picks up MVP and does the Batista bomb and he picks up the win.

Vladimir Kozlov vs Nunzio
    Kozlov dominates the match. Kozlov is throwing Nunzio around does his finisher and win.
Winner Kozlov 2 minutes
    I did not write a lot about this match, this is because this match was the same as last week’s match. Kozlov does know a lot of techniques and is a good wrestler but I would like to see him wrestle Festuz.
Matt Hardy & Kofi Kingston versus Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin.
    Kofi and Elijah start of the match. Elijah looks in an arm lock. Kofi fights out of it and does a wrist lock followed by a bridge cover. Kofi tags in Matt, Matt goes to work on the arm of Elijah. Matt launches Elijah into the corner and follows him. Matt does a suplex, he climbs the top rope and knocks Elijah down. Matt goes for the side effect but Elijah counters with a twisting neck breaker. Elijah tags in Shelton, Shelton kicks Matt a few times and tags Elijah back in. Elijah places Matt on the bottom rope and launches himself into the rope and he jumps true the ropes almost decapitating Matt. Shelton gets tagged in. Shelton launches Matt into the corner and follows him but Matt dodges it and counters with a side effect. He tags in Kofi, Kofi knocks Shelton down a few times and then does a high energy head scissor. He climbs the top rope and does a cross body. Kofi goes for the pin but Elijah breaks it up. Matt tosses Elijah out of the ring. Kofi does his heel kick on Shelton and he picks up the win.
Winner Matt Hardy & Kofi Kingston 8:20 Match Rating 3/10
    Not an outstanding match, Matt Hardy did the most work in the match out of the four the rest were not doing much. (Clips) (adds)
The undertaker vs Chavo Guerrero
    Chavo is accompanied by Bem, Edge, Hawkins and Rider. The match starts. Chavo throws some punches at Taker, Taker lifts Chavo up and throws him into the corner and he throws some punches of his own. He launches Chavo into the ropes and follows by a big boot. He grabs an arm of Chavo and delivers old school. He grabs the throat of Chavo and tries the choke slam. But Chavo is standing to the ropes and he has to break the hold. He backs up a bit and taker tries a big boot on Chavo. Chavo dodges it and Taker is stuck in the ropes. Edge, Hawking and Rider grab Taker and drag him outside the ring. They punch and kick him outside while Chavo distracts the referee. But the referee seemed to have seen something because he bans Edge, Hawkins and Rider from the ringside. Taker tries to get back into the ring but Chavo kicks him in the face. Taker gets back in the ring, Chavo throws some kicks, Taker knocks Chavo down. Chavo throws Taker outside of the ring and jumps towards Taker but Chavo gets caught midair. Taker drives him spine first into the steel ring post. They get back into the ring, Chavo throws some punches at taker but taker fights back. Chavo knocks Taker down but Taker sits up. Taker launches Chavo into the ropes and does a big back body drop. He whips Chavo into the corner and follows him delivering pain. He picks up Chavo up and does snake eyes followed by a big boot. Taker goes for the Choke Slam but the referee gets distracted and Chavo breaks it. Chavo does a lowblow he climbs the top rope but Taker sits up again and catches him mid air and delivers the Tomb stone piledriver.
Winner The undertaker 5:30 Matchrating 3/10
It was a good match but I feel it is more a played out story then actual wrestling witch I don’t like a lot.
This week shows thoughts:

It was a better show then last week. MVP versus Batista was the best match on the card. Finlay vs Chuck was the second best match. The rest of the matches were mediocre and filling of time nothing more in my eyes. The segments of La Famlia are predictable but not that bad. I like how ECW stars are used on other brands. MVP, BATISTA, MATT HARDY and Finlay are wrestling at a higher level then the others and it shows in the matches.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Undertaker is taking time off soon to go filming wwe's next movie? maybe this is why they put the "Taker is fired if he loses" stipulation in to the world title match at One Night Stand? I predict an Edge win obviously if this is to be the case but can anyone verify if this rumour has any truth to it????

The best part of the Undertaker VS Chavo match went unaired. Shortly after beating Chavo, Edge and the Edgeheads rush the ring, and with Chavo's body gaurd, they go at the Taker from all four sides of the ring. They end up cornering Taker and pounding him. That when suddenly flames explode from the stage and our rushes Kane. Kane Double Chokeslams one of the Edgeheads and Taker Chokeslams Edge out of the ring. One of the other Edgeheads tries to run, but Kane grabs him, and tosses him to Taker, and Taker Chokeslams him. For some reason... Chavo tries to get back in the ring, which ends up with him getting grabbed by Taker, who tosses him to Kane, who Tombstone Piledrives him. It was awesome to see.
