The Master's Dojo: RAW breakdown and NWO prediction

Hello everybody, and welcome to another fantastic edition of The Master’s Dojo!!! I’m your host, The Master of Puppets, and this should be a great article. In today’s issue, I’m going to give my personal breakdown of the RAW brand. Things like feuds and title holders…that kind of thing. Plus, my final picks for No Way Out. Let’s get it on!!

I’ll start out talking about current feuds. How about Legacy vs. The McMahon’s? Now, I think their pushing this a bit too far. Orton and his henchmen brutally attacking Shane and Stephanie? Is that really needed? Everybody knows that the title opportunity will not be taken away, because Randy Orton is loved by the fans…usually. And he is a pretty good wrestler. But, personally, I am stoked for this match at No Way Out. You know, between Shane and Randy, no holds barred. Except, I can’t help but think that Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase will be involved in some way. Anyway, should be a good match. Also, I’m pumped up for this coming Monday’s RAW, where there’ll be a match between Randy Orton and The Undertaker. This should also be a good match. By the way, I’m picking Undertaker to win on RAW and Orton to win at No Way Out.  All in all, however, I think that this feud doesn’t improve the show.

Ok, next up is my take on JBL vs. HBK. I have been waiting for them to have a match since this deal happened. Now, I’ve had people say that this is a good feud. Personally though, I don’t think it’s a very good rivalry. Who honestly wants to see The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels get bossed around by a guy who not many people like, John “Bradshaw” Layfield. I think that their match for No Way Out, however, is going to be somewhat predictable. For those who don’t know, Michaels and JBL have a winner take all match at this coming PPV, where if Shawn Michaels wins, he gets paid his full salary from JBL and is released from his contract, but if JBL wins, he owns the rights to the name “Shawn Michaels”. I really don’t think it would be a very smart marketing decision to have JBL own the name of one of the legends and fan favorites of the WWE. So, I’m picking Shawn Michaels to win this match. Anyway, I think he’s a much better wrestler.

Now, quickly, I’d like to say something about Knox vs. Mysterio. I don’t like this at all. I enjoy watching Rey fight, but twice in a row, he’s feuded against beasts in Kane and Mike Knox, and both times, he gets somewhat of an edge. That stopped being believable after the first couple of matches that he won against these guys. I think Rey Mysterio is a good wrestler, but that’s a bit unbelievable.

Ok, now my view on title holders. First I’ll start with the Women’s title. Now the reason I didn’t mention this previously is because I’m just not that interested in seeing Beth Phoenix’s henchmen help her win all her matches. It’s almost like Hornswoggle continually getting involved in Finlay’s matches. To be honest, I don’t see how Melina can retain her belt. Beth Phoenix is, in my opinion, too strong for Melina, and with Rosa Mendez and Santino the Clown outside, I don’t see this being Melina’s night. So, to conclude this paragraph, I don’t think Melina will be holding the belt after Sunday, and I do really think Beth is a good title holder… and hopefully she’ll lose the clown and Rosa.

Next up is the Intercontinental Championship, which is currently held by my boy, CM Punk. I was so happy when he won the belt in our hometown of Chicago, and I’m glad he’s been holding it for a while, and hopefully for a bit longer. He could be a really good Intercontinental Champion, and if he proves himself worthy, he may be thrown in the World Heavyweight title picture, who knows? Anyway, I am very satisfied with CM Punk holding the coveted Intercontinental Title.

Now on to the World title, the World Heavyweight Championship. This belt, as you all know, is being held by John Cena. John Cena is strange to me. I want to love him, I want him to be one of my favorite wrestlers. Yet, at the same time, I want to hate him, and I want him to lose the belt. I don’t know how satisfied I am with him winning the title. I mean, I think he is a slightly above average champion, but I really didn’t like the way he won the belt in the first place. Really, how predictable was that? I guess my final verdict is that I think he is a good champion, he fits well in this storyline, and I think that having him as champion is not a bad thing.

Ok , now it’s pick time. I’ll start out with the ECW title match between “The All American” American Jack Swagger and the man who loves to fight, Finlay. I’m rooting for Finlay, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m picking him. Actually, I am. Finlay has never been anything except United States champion. I think, with this current storyline between him and Swagger, I think that it is time to give Finlay the title. So, I’m predicting that I will finally be able to say “Finlay is the champ!!”

Next is the No Holds Barred match between Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton and Shane O’Mac. I’m assuming the worst for this match. Just look at how RAW ended. Undertaker vs. Randy Orton. I thought that this would be an epic success. Instead, it was an epic fail. Of course Legacy’s Priceless members were involved. And then here comes Shane to beat up Legacy. I wanted to see a real match between Undertaker and Randy Orton. I wanted to see a classic match between these two greats. I was disappointed. And now there is a No Holds Barred match. This means that anything can and will happen. This also, I’d assume, means the other guys in Legacy will be involved. I think Orton is going to win this. I don’t want him to win, but I think he will.

Another match at No Way Out will be the Winner Take All match between John “Bradshaw” Layfield and HBK Shawn Michaels. I’ve made it no secret that I have hated this storyline. I can’t stand it. I can’t stand JBL. I thought it would end at the Royal Rumble, but I was wrong. I am rooting for HBK, and I think he’ll win because A) he is the better wrestler, and B) it would not be smart, I don’t think, on WWE’s part to have Shawn Michaels and his legacy be ruined by this. Nobody wants to see JBL win this match. Or, maybe I’m just naïve and everyone wants JBL to win. But I doubt that. Anyway, I am picking Shawn Michaels to win. Now for the dreaded, demonic, evil Elimination Chamber. I’ll start with the World Heavyweight Championship Chamber. Competitors are Mike Knox, Kane, Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio and obviously, champion John Cena. This is how I see this chamber breaking down. Kofi Kingston will be eliminated first. I don’t think he’s a big enough star yet to win a world title going in to WrestleMania…Sorry Kofi. Next to be eliminated will be Mike Knox. I’d assume he’d be eliminated by Rey Mysterio to continue with the storyline. Speaking of Rey, I see him going out next. So the final three, in my opinion, will be Jericho, Cena and Kane. I think that Cena will eliminate Kane with the FU. Oh excuse me, the “Attitude Adjustment” (by the way, I hate this new PG thing they’re going for. No Bra and Panties Match? No more ‘One Night Stand’? No more ‘FU’ and ‘STFU’? Quite lame, in my opinion.) Anyway, right after Kane is eliminated, I think that Jericho will eliminate Cena, making him the new World Heavyweight Champion. Finally, the WWE championship Elimination Chamber. The competitors in this match are Champion Edge, Vladimir Kozlov, The Game, Jeff Hardy, Big Show and the Undertaker. I see Kozlov eliminating both Hardy AND Triple H. Then Undertaker gets payback from the Royal Rumble and eliminates the Big Show. And then, Edge is going to capitalize and take out the Undertaker, but no!! Edge and Undertaker battle it out in classic fashion. I see Edge going for the spear…and he hits it, he stand over Undertaker, taunting him, but then, just like at WrestleMania XXIV, Undertaker locks in The Hell’s Gate and Edge taps out. Undertaker wins the match, and will hold the WWE championship going into the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

Well, Ladies and gentlemen, it seems as though another edition of The Master’s Dojo has come to an end. Again a big thanks to all my readers, and I hope you keep coming back for more. Until next time, I’m The Master of puppets, and I AM OUT!!

Cena losing the belt to set up Jericho-Orton at Mania. No chance in hell.

Glad there's someone else around here who holds what I consider to be a sensible view on Cena, as opposed to all the little kids adoring him and the overly vocal "worst wrestler ever" crowd.

If both champs retain in their respective elimination chambers I'm going to be sick. That's a longshot at best. Unfortunately the only title I think will change hands is.. none. This is just filler crap that's supposed to keep us entertained with "elimination chambers." They're dangling shiny objects in front of us to distract from the fact that, so far, the creative team has built NOTHING up towards Wrestlemania. I fear WM25 is going to be a crapfest.

Glide, I agree with this too, i don't think he is the worst wrestler ever, but i don't adore him, though i do like his gimmick, don't blame me for being a 1996 child. BUt he won't lose the title

well, I say that jericho is going to fight or a wwe legend or a movie star, as things had been going on last RAW shows, so giving him the title wouldn't be that smart, Kane with a belt is quite rare to happen, as it is to have as champion Rey, Kofi, or Knox, so I think Cena retains.
Also Undertaker defending his title in WM25? in my opinion he is just to old to make a good title match for WM, I mean look at the Batista vs Undertaker, it was kind of predictable and boring in my opinion, so I think or HHH or Hardy (most unlikely) wins the elimination chamber

I'm just not convinced that HBK will win his match at No Way Out. Sometimes dudes you have to look at the story lines point of view. There are better story angles if HBK looses over wins. I think HBK will loose thus causing something big for the Wrestlemania card but I could be wrong.

WWE is going to die soon if they continue the PG Thing. A wrestling fan no matter what their age wants the same things, Blood, Violence and a good storyline. 1. WWE arent showing any blood, 2. they arent going to use violence if its PG. 3. WWE havent kept a good storyline going for more than 3 weeks. So with this in mind they will probably not have a decent wrestlemania this year i will still watch it but i will be dissapointed.

    Good article btw

I don't like this PG thing, too.
I think I can not think that Cena will lose his title at No Way Out I am quite shure he loses it against randy at wrestlemani but no chance for jericho to win
I really have no idea who's going to win at smackdowns chamber
    Ialso see finlay winning
And even if I'm said to say this I think the ugly melina will retain her title against the awesome glamazon

Jason I am sorry to disappoint you but WWE will never die. I mean how can it die as long as they always have sold-out shows, good ppv buys, good merchandise buys. And anyways by making the WWE shows PG they show more athleticism. Maybe that you won't watch the brutal matches anymore but at least you'll see better performances. Look at the new guys like Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne and even Team Priceless. You should also look at Christian's new wrestling style ( and finisher ). And anyways they're not stupid enough to keep it PG if people stop bringing them the money. Vince has always done the best thing to get the money. Keep that in mind

I actually don't mind the PG thing. Blood is not necessary for a good wrestling match. I'd rather see two technical wrestlers exchanging holds for 10 minutes than an hour of 'extreme' wrestling. Blood, to a degree, is really just a shortcut to replace skilled action. And if PG gets rid of pointless eye candy matches like bra and panties or 'insert wet/gooey in a wading pool' matches then it's a godsend.

That said, I can see a lot of good in this article. Good view of Cena. Good call on the HBK match. Good call on Orton's match. It's got to be Orton/Cena though at WM. They're not going to do two heels, and Raw needs Orton's heat, while Smackdown is doing just fine with their talent.

I can actually see Jeff Hardy winning the Elimination Chamber for SD though, to set up Matt v Jeff for the title at WM. I'm sure that match is going to happen, just not if the title will be involved.

Swagger will retain. Finley is too over as a face right now, and Christian is also, from how he came in so they'll want Swagger/Christian for the next step in the ECW title scene. I see Christian being the face of ECW soon too. I doubt he would have come to the smallest show if he wasn't going to lead it. I think he's a test for Swagger to see if he's ready to move up to another brand.

    Just my two cents.

I think JBL-Shawn Michaels has a huge upside. If JBL wins, he owns Shawn Michaels name, right? Not the moniker HBK, or DX, or anything else. Maybe for Wreslemania we see a return of the Cliq. So many possibilities to have JBL win and get screwed over as well.

Good article. I enjoy reading 'em

HHH wins his chamber, this will help setup Orton versus Trips at Mania. It's clearly where they are going with the Orton versus McMahons angle.

As much as I prefer Jericho as champ over Cena, it isn't going to happen on this night. Jericho is already being angled for another match at Mania, putting the title on him would be pointless. Most likely see Cena versus JBL versus HBK at mania for the title.

I can't see them putting the title on Undertaker either. The prize for Takers opponent at mania will be Takers undefeated streak not a title.

At least that is where I see them going with their current storylines.

I have to disagree about your predictions about the elimination chamber matches. First, Jericho will not be winning the match due to the high probability he'll be wrestling Ric Flair at WM25. I think cena will win the match at NWO. For the WWE championship, it's too hard to tell for me. As much as i am a 'taker fan, i don't think he'll win. But if I had to pick one person to win... it'd be jeff hardy. I think he and matt will go in a match for the title at WM25. Otherwise I agree with you with everything else.

Firstly HHH v orton would be a great angle for mania but cant see it hapenning due to the fact raw needs orton more the hhh at the moment and smackdown doesnt need another storyline steping on each others toes (sorry DB). SD chamber match will be HHH winning with koslov probably facing him with edge in a triple treat match (with edge winning to piss everyone off). Taker will end facing how in some kind of a cage\cell\coffin match or something. (ps jeff wont win as he and his brother will end up in the money in the bank match and both lose taking each other out) as for the raw one..as much as i would LOVE kane to win ...he wont...it will be cena with him facing orton at mania...with shane screwing over orton again (with the whole feud thing) and cena retaining.(baaah) oh and on a personal note...as much as im happy that christain is back...not happy he's on ECW...he will end up getting wasted on it unless they can move him on to an angle with edge very quickly after mania....i smell a future TLC match there me thinks.

    My Picks:

Swagger will retain over Finlay. He'll lose the title to Christian. Swagger will move to Raw or SD in the draft.

As for the Chambers, theres no way Jericho will win. Cena will retain. For the WWE Championship match, I agree with you. I think they will give Undertaker the title, to make it easier for him to stay undefeated at WM. They wouldnt just slap the belt on him for a month and then take it off of him. A title match with him going in as the champ is the perfect way for him to retain the streak. Maybe a match against Matt Hardy at WM?

Hopefully Melina will retain. I'm still trying to decode "the great RKO"'s statement of "ugly Melina and Awesome Glamazon". Dude, have you seen Beth lately? Definitely a man at one point in "her" life.

As for HBK/JBL, I could care less. Hopefully Michaels wins to get rid of this garbage storyline.

THE DEADMAN WILL RISE TO WIN THE CHAMBER
THEN HE WILL BEAT EDGE IN A COFFIN MATCH EVEN THOUGH BIG SHOW INTERFERES THEN HE WILL BE PUT INTO A FATAL 4 WAY WITH BIGSHOW UNDERTAKER EDGE AND HHH
THEN UNDERTAKER WILL SEND THEM TO HELL
    HELL IN A CELL

Cena will retain to face Ortan at Wrestlemania, as none of the others besides Jericho has a prayer of being World Champ at this time. So it will be Cena/Ortan at WM where most likely the McMahon's will get involved to make sure Ortan does not win the title there, but we will see.

SD chamber, my guess is Jeff Hardy to win to set up Hardy/Hardy at Wrestlemania for the title. Having both Hardys in a grudge match at WM is a gold ticket seat-seller on its own, add the title match and it becomes platinum.

Women's title will most likely be Melina retaining due to Rosa and Santino interfering or distracting Beth. This will cause the Glamazon to finally be sick of having Rosa and Santino around and start the destruction of that teaming up as Beth will take on Rosa for payback.

Finlay/Swagger is a hard one to pick. I could see Finlay finally getting the ECW title off Swagger, but not sure if they think Finlay/Christian would be a better draw or not. It depends on if they are going to turn one of them heel or not. Otherwise Swagger will retain, but lose to Christian at WM, so he can be taken in the draft by Raw or SD, my guess being Raw as they need more heels at this time.
