“Say it ain’t so, Joe”
Coming off of the Aftermath of Slammiversery, Suicide retained, Beer Money won, and Kurt is the new champion, and Joe is in the Main Event Mafia. Haha he came out in a Sidney Crosby jersey. Pittsburgh’s the city of gold this year baby. Now if the Pirates win the Series…HAHAHAHA what am I saying?!?
Match 1: Brutus Magnus vs. Brother Ray (NYC Street Fight) Ray attacks Brutus from behind during his entrance, smashing him into the guard rail and the steps. That’s a theme for tonight. In the ring, Ray hit’s a monster clothesline in the corner. They head back outside, with Ray dominating with punches and chest slaps. Over the guard rail, Magnus mounts a small flurry, but Brother Ray quickly retakes the advantage. Basically a beat down. He throws Magnus back into he ring, and gets a table. He sets it up, but the rest of the British Invasion, as well as Basher and Kiyoshi blindside Ray. Devon comes out, hit’s a big clothesline on Kiyoshi, and smacks Rob Terry with the chair. Everyone scatters, but 3D puts Kiyoshi through the table with a 3D. Winner: No Contest Match Rating: 6/10
Lauren is with Kurt, trying to get some answers to no avail. The same thing happens when Joe arrives.

MEM comes out, without Sting. Kurt reintroduces himself to everyone, as champion. Then he invites the newest member out, Samoa “Taz 4.0” Joe. He earned another point when he sold out to the Mafia, like Tazz did with ECW. OH!!! Anyway, Kurt designed the whole thing, after Joe returned to TNA an animal. And thanks to Jenna’s money, they could afford him. They all got taken out by Joe for the greater good of the family. He says that he forgot to tell Sting, but he didn’t get hurt. Mick comes out now. He doesn’t owe him an apology, just his rematch. Kurt mentions how Foley cried after the match, and that he was a disgrace. In his contract, Kurt gets to name his opponent. Mick says that yes, he was emotional after his match. But…he also pinned Kurt in the match, and any other match he would’ve won. Kurt declares that when you want something from the Mafia, you must give something. They head backstage to discuss.
Lauren is with AJ entering the building, again trying to get an answer, and getting none. AJ is looking for Joe.

JJ and Mick Foley promo.
JJ is on the phone with Tenay and West. He says that situation between him and Mick has gone far enough, and that next week, they would rise above it.
Sarita promo. Some new knockout.
Match 2: Kevin Nash vs. Abyss They both come out before we go to commercial.
Ads
We come back and see Nash with the advantage on Abyss, kneeing him in the corner. Abyss breaks free, and lands punches, and runs at Nash, but he clotheslines him. In the corner, Nash is elbowing Abyss in the head. Nash tries to throw Abyss, who reverses. He runs at Nash in the corner, but he gets the elbow up. Nash clotheslines him out, and gets a chair. He swings and misses, so Abyss takes advantage and slams Nash into the guard rail and steps. Back into the ring, and Abyss grabs the chair on the way in, and sets it up in the turnbuckles. Nash lands a big boot, and retrieves the chair. The ref tries to pull it off of Nash, and while that is happening, Dr. Stevie runs into the ring and tasers Abyss. Let me repeat…He tasers Abyss!!! Nash goes and covers. Winner: Kevin Nash Match Rating: 9/10, simply for the ending.
Beer Money is heading out.
Ads
Beer Money is already in the ring. Storm says how good it is to be the champs again. Roode says that they’re the greatest tag team in the world. And they give credit to 3D, that they’re legends. But Ray took his eye off the ball, and they took advantage. But they say they’re gonna give 3D their rematch anytime. That’s when Booker and Steiner come out. Booker gives them a history lesson, about the Steiner Brothers and the Harlem Heat. Steiner says that Kurt, the godfather, is calling the shots.
Booker explains that Mick gets his rematch, but Kevin gets a Legends title shot, and they get a tag team title shot. Storm says that they are part of two of the greatest tag teams ever, but in TNA, they’re just another kneel and bottle. So get down on your knees, and bobble this bottle. I’m dying laughing at this point, the next thing I know, 3D is out. Ray asks the important question…can anyone understand what Steiner or Booker are saying? They’re planning on getting their rematch at Victory Road. He starts imitating Steiner, and once he does the muscle thing I’m crying again.

Daffney and Taylor Wilde promo.
Match 3: Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde (10,000 tacks) Daffney cheap shots Taylor and takes advantage. Slaps and chops, then a snapmare and neck breaker combo. They both try going for the tacks and are stopped, respectively. Daffney gets some momentum though and grabs the tacks. She smashes Wilde with the bag, then spreads them out in the ring. They both try to suplex or slam each other into the other. Daffney uppercuts Wilde, who almost falls in, but regains her footing. She dodges a punch from Daffeny, lifts her up, and throws her into the tacks. Winner: Taylor Wilde Match Rating: 7/10
Lauren is with the Beautiful People. Sky says that no one can just walk in from another promotion and take over. She says something about Tara being short for tarantula, when Rayne freaks out, because there is a tarantula on her shoulder. TNA is doing a good job of prop use tonight.

JB is with Mick Foley and 3D, asking him how can they give away their title rematch? Neither of them give a damn about the others losing their respective titles though. He makes a tweak, and says the two teams will fight for the title shot next week. Ray picks up Mick’s bat, and says they like him, but that’s not good enough. Mick begs them to take the match, and they agree.
Match 4: Scott Steiner vs. Robert Roode Steiner wins the lockup battle, and pushes Roode into the corner. Steiner is punching and chopping him, but Roode takes advantage with a float over in the turnbuckle. He flips over Steiner with some kinda neck snap, hit’s a suplex, but Steiner throws him outside. Guess what? Yep, Steiner smashes Roode into the rail and steps. Into the ring they go, and Scott executes a beautiful overhead belly to belly suplex. He locks in a bear hug, which Roode escapes and hit’s a 2nd rope neck breaker. Rob goes for the Roode slam, but Steiner hit’s a reverse face buster. He misses a Steiner Recliner, but pulls out a backslide, which he almost couldn’t do because his arms are so big. Winner: Scott Steiner Match Rating: 7/10
JB is with Kurt, asking about Mick’s tweak, who says he’ll take care of him next week. JB asks about Sting, but Kurt says that he, Kurt, is the godfather and answers to no one, not even Sting.
Ads
JB is with Mick, asking about JJ. He says that he’s in the mood for reconciliation if Jeff is going to apologize. JB talks about what Kurt said, but Mick basically has a melt down.
EY promo
Lauren is with EY, mentioning that he walked away from Rhino in their match at Slammiversery. EY says that there are no friends in this business, only acquaintances. He doesn’t care about anyone, and then Rhino comes in, wanting an explanation. EY says that he’s getting nothing, then head butts him. Rhino rages on his soldier protégé after that.

Lauren is with Booker, but I’m not even going to try to understand him.
Match 5: Booker T vs. James Storm Booker misses a kick early, and Storm takes advantage with chops and punches. T hit’s an elbow and throws James out, but he holds on and flips back in, landing punches until Booker hangs him up on the ropes. He nails multiple knees to Storm’s head, then a spin kick. He misses an axe kick, lands a neck breaker, then a suplex. He stomps on Booker, then as he backs up, Booker gets his bottle, and crushes Storm in the head with it. Winner: James Storm via DQ Match Rating: 5/10. That was just a poor wrestling match.
Sting is backstage
Ads
AJ is in the ring, who calls out Joe, or Mr. Nation of Violence, to face him like a man. He obliges. AJ can’t believe that Joe did it for the money. They had a plan at Slammiversery, but Joe didn’t wanna win. Styles says that he screwed the company and the fans, and himself. He wants to know who is in his head, and Joe tells him to ask him himself at Victory Road. AJ attacks Joe, and Morgan comes out to make the save. Then Daniels comes out. Then the whole MEM comes out. But then Sting comes out.
Ads
Sting says that he expected this from Kurt. But punks like Joe were the reason they started the Mafia. He says that Kurt probably brought Matt in to get Sting. Matt says that Kurt had everything to do with it. Sting says he’s not even surprised at Booker or Scott, but at Kevin. Nash explains that he vouched for Sting to bring him into the Mafia. He backed the whole respect thing, and every time the others wanted to cut him down, Nash stood up (hit his head of the ceiling) , and said no. But when Kurt wanted Matt to take out Sting, he thought it was a damn good idea, because Sting’s plans weren’t working. Now they have the gold. The whole honor thing is bull, and its all about the money. He says that they couldn’t beat Joe, so they bought him. The whole honor thing is just a fairy tale that they tell to their kids. Sting comes in, like the kind you tell to your son, Tristion? Oooh…
How Kevin wanted him to learn about respect by his fathers example. He’s trying to talk to the heart of Kevin. But he hands him the bat and tells him to cement his role in the Mafia, and turns his back. In his robe is a second bat! Kevin is hesitant, and Sting whips around and starts beating them, until the numbers game catches up. We leave Impact with Sting getting mugged.
Show Rating: 8/10 Thoughts This show really shows that TNA is better. Look at the promos they cut tonight! Either hilarious, or deep and heartfelt, or shocking. WWE is trying the same angle. Put Legacy in for the MEM, and HHH or Batista in for Sting, and you had the last 6 months of Raw’s main story. Except that it sucked.

I love TNA! This show would have been a lot better if the Guns were around, and I think that Booker T was saying some stuff about how he was going to kick James Storm's ass, I think that is what he was trying to say, my ghetto translator doesn't work as well as it normally does. I think Taz will come in now and be the leader of the MEM at victory road. My last Question, what was up with that stupid victory road promo they did? like 5 different times with 5 different wrestlers, but the exact same one, I think we got the idea already.

Yay, number one :D
Good article, I completely agree with the part at the end about how Raw has been using the same storyline for months. And with the new "PG" approach, I just can't watch it anymore! :P

Nice write up. I agree with your assessment. TNA is simply more entertaining to me than the WWE product these days. Ok, I did enjoy the Trump thing and the LMS title match, but overall, TNA has been my favorite wrestling show for some time now. It would be nice if Raven had a bigger role but I'm sure that's his choice with all the other stuff he has going, but nonetheless, Raven, whether acknowledged or not, is one of the all time great wrestling characters. He is the first one who mixed the old style ring psychology with the flashy newer stuff, and I can think of maybe a handful of wrestlers ever who could hold a candle to Raven's ability on the mic.
