Welcome to the fifth edition of the Weekly Review! The road to Wrestlemania began a few weeks ago at the Royal Rumble and the road is only going to get narrower for those on there way to the grandest stage of them all. So get ready cause im about to breakdown another week leading up to the Elimination Chamber PPV. - RAW The show kicks off with guest host and NASCAR driver Carl Edwards. Hornswoggle revs his engine after the firework shower and its time to start another week in wrestling. Carl Edwards does his signature back flip off the top rope and lands it to perfection. Edwards says he is friends with John Cena but before he can go any further, he is interrupted. Sheamus comes out and claims that its his show and he demands to be named the last entrant in the Chamber or Edwards wont even make to the Daytona 500 (biggest race of the year). Christian comes out and announces that he will join RAW after ECW closes down in two weeks. Carl Edwards then makes a match between the two champions and its up next. The match starts and Sheamus takes control early and with power. Christian does get some nice highflying moves in as the match goes on but Sheamus continues to brutalize Christian. Christian then finds a comeback route by hitting a missile dropkick on Sheamus to take back momentum. Christian then plants Sheamus with a DDT from the top turnbuckle. Most Champion vs Champion matches end in DQ so this is so far a good match. Christian tries to finish it but Sheamus is able to block a Killswitch and dodge a missile dropkick. Sheamus then lifts Christian above his head and tosses him across the ring to pick up the three count victory. The Straight Edge Society comes out and tries to save another person and this time they call out Jared from the Subway commercials. There cut short though because its time to start the triple threat elimination match for the Unified Tag Team Championships. Early on The Miz decides to go after Serena after some small interference and he catches a spinebuster by HHH on the way. Michaels gets in the match and quickly explodes on CM Punk. He then tunes up Sweet Chin Music but Luke Gallows blocks it and then is thrown out by HHH. CM Punk capitalizes on the distraction and sets up the GTS but Michaels is able so slide off his shoulders and hit Sweet Chin Music on Punk. Michaels then pins him and its all down to Big Show & Miz and DX. Big Show and Michaels begin to rage war in the ring and it seems that Big Show is using his size to advantage by taking control. Miz gets in but tags back Big Show shortly after and then Show is hit by Sweet Chin Music shortly after. Both men get the tag and you see vintage HHH. Michaels then tags himself in for some reason and Miz gets the roll up from behind to win the titles. The tension continues as HHH is angry after Michaels cost them the belt with his bad decision. Show Miz is the new Unified Tag Champs. Later on Michaels is shown backstage looking desperate. He then calls out Theodore Long saying he wants to be traded to Smackdown to enter the Chamber. Long says no and HHH asks if his obsession with the Undertaker has really gone far enough to end DX and his career. Michaels responds by saying his career is over and delivering Sweet Chin Music to Theodore Long. Rhodes takes early initiative against Orton but Orton is able to even the match out. Orton then gets Rhodes down and begins to taunt him but then Sheamus comes down to distract Orton. Cody Rhodes quickly takes advantage and hits Crossroads on Orton when he turns around to pick up the win against his mentor. Afterwards Sheamus knocks out Orton with a vicious kick but Rhodes chases Sheamus off with a steel chair. Afterwards the guest host decides to schedule those three matches for next week ahead of time. Edwards says it will be Sheamus vs Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase vs Kofi Kingston, and John Cena vs Triple H. The main event match then starts fast with John Cena running down the ramp and taking out all his frustration from last week on Dibiase. He hits him with a hard clothesline and then throws him brutally into the crowd barrier. Cena then continues the rampage by putting Dibiases lights out with a STF outside the ring before the match even starts. Cena then enters the ring while the referee tends to Dibiase and calls out Batista. Batista doesnt show so Cena calls out the chairman Vince McMahon and he comes out with ten security guards. Cena and McMahon then argue back and forth about McMahon caring about nothing but money. Cena keeps going for minutes and the crowd is all behind him. Cena then gets to the chase by dropping the bombshell by saying Bret Hart wants to face Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania. Cena then pushes McMahon to the limit and he snaps by accepting the match. Cena leaves and just as McMahon is about to talk... Bret Hart attacks McMahon from behind and security is able to break it up. Afterwards McMahon changes his answer to no and Hart goes on a rampage by destroying the set to end the show. Top Performer: The Miz was the best in my opinion. You might think he did nothing but ive said it before and I will say it again. Somebody has to be the future of the WWE and he just might be it. Other than Kurt Angle in TNA, I cant think of the last person to hold three titles at once. Best Promo: Closing Segment with John Cena was the only real promo that took place on RAW this week. Best Match: Christian vs Sheamus Final Thoughts and Predictions: Not many predictions since next week will most likely be hype for the Elimination Chamber but is there a reason more people are referring to Triple H as Hunter? Yeah its his name but I dont get it. Also congratulations to "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase for being the first inductee to this years WWE Hall of Fame. Show Rating: 7/10 - ECW The night kicks off with a tag team match between the team of Yoshi Totsu & Goldust taking on Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft where the winners will face Show Miz for the Unified Titles next week on ECW. The match starts slow until Goldust gets the tag on Totsu. He gets in and starts fighting at a quick pace with a highflying attack that is to much for Croft. Croft gets tired out fast and Totsu continues using his legs as weapons until he able to get the two count. After that doesnt work he decides to go high risk and is just moments away from the pin but Baretta breaks it up. Totsu is then able to take Barreta out of the ring and deliver a standing knee to the face on Croft. Yoshi Totsu then pins Croft after giving him a bloody nose and keeps his win streak alive. Ezekiel comes out and absolutely dominates a local wrestler. After winning the match his mentor, William Regal calls out Christian. Later in the show Christian accepts the challenge and will put the title on the line next week in an extreme rules match. The show ends with a match settling the rivalry between Benjamin and Vance Archer. The match is no DQ and has a lot of back and even includes some weapons like a kendo stick and chair but nothing even close to the old ECW. In the end Shelton Benjamin buries Archer's head into the ground with a front flip from the top turnbuckle and a finishing move to end the show in victory. Top Performer: Ezekiel Jackson Best Promo: William Regal calling out Christian was only contender Best Match: Shelton Benjamin vs Vance Archer- No DQ Final Thoughts and Predictions: No thoughts because it was a typical ECW :P. But they do want to go out with a bang so there will be two title matches next week where I think Christian might lose the title so he can go to RAW. Show Rating: 4.5/10 - Friday Night Smackdown The show opens with the first Elimination Chamber preview match. Mysterio is set to fight CM Punk alongside the Straight Edge Society. Mysterio has all the momentum on his side until Punk backs out of a 619 just in time late in the match and is able to set up his finisher. Rey Mysterio reverses it into a small package pin and gets the three count. After the match is over, the Straight Edge Society attacks Mysterio in a three on one mauling until it ends with Punk dropping Mysterio into the GTS. Drew McIntire comes out and says he doesnt care who is opponent is but he to fierce to be beaten. His call is answered by one of his triple threat opponents the week before. Kane shows up to beat McIntire down until there both counted out. After the double countout, Kane shakes off a shot from McIntire and retaliates with a chokeslam. Kane makes the statement but at the end of the night McIntire is still undefeated in singles competition. Batista comes out to announce why he helped attack Bret Hart, why he bombed John Cena, and why he lost his qualifying match on purpose. Instead he paces the ring a few times in complete silence except for the "Cena" and "You Suck" chants. He then drops the microphone to the ground before kicking across the ring and leaving with no explanation. Theodore Long responds by announcing a match next week between Batista and Edge. The next contest is a tag team match between Hardy & Khali and The Hart Dynasty. Before the match Matt Hardy brings out his valentine, Maria. The match goes on and ends with Matt Hardy rolling up Tyson Kidd to steal the victory. The second Chamber preview match is between R-Truth and John Morrison. The match ends early when its cut short by an ankle injury by John Morrison. R-Truth is basically handed the victory but more importantly what does this mean for Morrison? Like ECW, the main event will be a No DQ match. Undertaker and Jericho battle it out until the match escalates outside the ring. Edge is set for guest commentary but gets more involved then he planned when Undertaker delivers him a big boot. The two get back into the ring and Undertaker sets Jericho up for his last ride but Edge spears The Undertaker before he can end Jericho. Chris Jericho then takes advantage and hits the codebreaker on The Undertaker to win the match and end Smackdown with a statement. Top Performer: Matt Hardy Best Promo: Hardly any words but its Batista Best Match: Chris Jericho vs The Undertaker Show Rating: 6/10 Final Thoughts and Predictions: Im wondering how far this Batista storyline will go and if Morrison's injury is just an angle to sneak Michaels into the Chamber... tune in next week to find out. - Top Brand: Monday Night RAW (RAW 3, SD 1, ECW 0) - Thanks for reading and please feel free to leave a comment.
