TK's Say: Money in the Bank PPV Preview

Welcome to a special edition of TK’s Say! It’s been a while since I’ve discussed WWE but now I revisit the biggest wrestling industry in the world by breaking down the Money in the Bank PPV to give you accurate predictions. The PPV will air July 18th from the Sprint Center in KCMO (Kansas City, Missouri). None the less, let’s get started on an action packed night of wrestling!

-

The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd) vs. The Usos- WWE Unified Tag Team Championships

I don’t have much information at all about The Usos but quite frankly it doesn’t matter. Before I get into anything I will start by saying that this team has too small of a status to come into the WWE as early as they have and cement a statement as big as becoming the only tag team champions.

Im predicting that Tamina and Natalya will just cancel each other out, causing the match to be a clean contest between the two tag teams. At most they will just battle ringside and not cause any interference. So if you place both teams in the ring I can only imagine that The Hart Dynasty will hit the Hart Attack on either of The Usos and it will end just like that. Winner(s): The Hart Dynasty Confidence: 8.5/10

-

Sheamus (c) vs. John Cena- WWE Championship: Steel Cage Match

If I have realized anything about Sheamus then it is that he is a true Irishman. Not because he looks like a human bottle of Elmer’s glue or because he is whiter than sour cream. He is a true Irishman because he has been going off of pure luck. John Cena claims the only luck at Money in the Bank will be his breakfast cereal but the past shows otherwise.

Sheamus started his first WWE Championship rein last year after defeating John Cena in a table match. John Cena fell off the top turnbuckle and went through the table on his own so if you ask me, that’s pure luck. Not to mention his only successful title defenses against John Cena and Randy Orton were only because both matches ended in DQ. He ended up losing the belt to Triple H in the Elimination Chamber.

Now Sheamus is champion again because he was lucky enough to be in the right position at the right time when the NXT Rookies attacked at Fatal Four Way. John Cena was the champion coming into that match so now he has induced his rematch clause which will take place this Sunday at Money in the Bank.

The fact that the match will be fought in a steel cage just means there will be no interference and no escape for either of these men until they’ve done enough damage. My gut tells me that John Cena will win but that is only because WWE is programmed to make you think that at all costs. Sheamus has yet to have a clean title defense but I have a feeling that he will find a way to win this match and with controversy that takes this rivalry to Summerslam.

Although this rivalry has taken a weird twist as both men worked together to take out the NXT Rookies last Monday. You would have thought Sheamus would have let the NXT Rookies weaken John Cena right before Money in the Bank but that wasn’t the case. I’m going to have to say that Sheamus made a mistake by helping John Cena because now he will be at full health and now has an even chance at winning. This match is hard to predict because both men have little to no experience at all in the steel cage so we don’t really know what to expect. None the less I am going to take the risky pick and say this match ends clean with John Cena finding a way to escape first of tap Sheamus out in the steel cage with a STF. Winner: John Cena Confidence: 2/10

-

Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Jack Swagger- World Heavyweight Championship

If you told me before Fatal Four Way that Rey Mysterio would come out champion then I would have told you that the ultimate underdog is past his glory days and has absolutely no chance at picking up the final pin. Rey Mysterio did however manage to pick up the pin and win his first World Heavyweight Championship since all the way back at Wrestlemania 22.

Jack Swagger just so happened to be the champion going into that fatal four way so now he will activate his rematch clause at Money in the Bank this Sunday. The last time Jack Swagger had anything to do with the name “Money in the Bank”; he was climbing the ladder at Wrestlemania and grabbed the briefcase. Five days later he cashed in and got the easy three-count on Chris Jericho to become the champion but lost the belt to Rey Mysterio at the last PPV.

Now Jack Swagger wants his belt back but I don’t think it will come that easy. Yeah Mysterio just barely got into the fatal four way match after winning a battle royal to replace the injured Undertaker. But he ended up winning the fatal four way and that is all that counts. Rey Mysterio is now the world champion and for the first time since 2006. So if you think they’re going to take away his long awaited gold after just a month’s rein then you’re crazy. Rey Mysterio wins after hitting a 619! Winner: Rey Mysterio (c) Confidence: 7/10

Smackdown Money in the Bank Match

Big Show: (2%) The reason the chance of Big Show winning is so low is because his speed and agility are very low. Sure he has a size advantage over everyone and is a great wrestler but the ladder match is designed for high flyers. Not to mention that Money in the Bank requires even more athleticism because you got multiple opponents striking from many angles as soon as you get on that ladder. Big Show might cause some problems for people trying to win by knocking over some ladders but he will not win by any means.

Matt Hardy: (18%) Hardy has been in three of these matches already but has yet to win one. He does tend to be close to the winners when they grab the case so Hardy is known for coming up short. He took part in the most recent Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania XXVI but failed to show any significance in the match. Perhaps his biggest impact in this match type was costing MVP the Money in the Bank match three years ago. The odds are stacked too high against him in this one so I doubt Hardy wins.

Christian: (20%) I picked Christian to win Money in the Bank when I made my Wrestlemania XXVI predictions and he let me down. He has a ton of history and success in ladder matches and even was able to beat the highly athletic Shelton Benjamin in a ladder match last year at the TLC PPV. He also competed in the first ever Money in the Bank match so there is no question that Christian would be perfect for this match which is why I picked him back then. Now he has qualified for this match and I’m going to pick him as one of the favorites again. It would be nice to see Christian receive a nice push by claiming the briefcase.

Kofi Kingston: (20%) Yeah Kofi Kingston is already the Intercontinental champion but he has some advantages including his abilities. Don’t be surprised if he manages to win the match and then leaves the Intercontinental belt to be fought between McIntyre and Hardy.

Cody Rhodes: (5%) Sure Cody Rhodes has just as much of a chance in this match as everyone else coming in but I don’t see him winning at all. He has little to no momentum coming into this contest and has no experience in this brutal match.

Drew McIntyre: (5%) I don’t see him just suddenly dropping out of his Intercontinental feud to join the heavyweight feud. He will continue in that rivalry and will not go on to win this match. Yeah he competed in the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania but he didn’t look very impressive.

Dolph Ziggler: (10%) Ziggler was heavily in the favorites race to win Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania XXVI but was very unsuccessful. Since I think he has only just faded away… he won’t win.

Kane: (20%) Kane has been in plenty of these matches and has come very close to winning but hasn’t yet. His size might seem to put him at a low but he often finds a way to be at that battle on top. He has a lot of anger and momentum coming in so he is a definite favorite.

Winner: Christian Confidence: 2/10 (20%)

RAW Money in the Bank Match

Randy Orton: (20%) Orton hasn’t been in Money in the Bank since 2007 but that is only because he has been busy headlining Wrestlemania and competing in high profile matches. But now that he is indeed in this match, I see him as one of the guys to watch for because he has great wrestling and can get up the ladder easily. The Age of Orton is over but I think it could start back up by simply grabbing the briefcase.

The Miz: (5%) No he won’t win this match. There is no doubt he has potential as a two time winner of the most improved award but he still has some very tough competition in this match that won allow him to come out on top. I’ve seen him with plenty of gold but can’t see him with the big title.

Chris Jericho: (10%) Jericho has competed in a few of these matches but hasn’t had any luck with them. I don’t think Money in the Bank is really his thing but he still has a good chance at coming out on top.

Evan Bourne: (10%) This man is not only a great highflyer but he is also the most underrated man in the WWE. He has proved himself more than ever by defeating a legend in Jericho and now he comes into Money in the Bank looking for a push. If he wins this match then it will be a huge turning point for him in his wrestling career.

Ted Dibiase: (8%) This is his first time in this match so expect the worst. He will probably be one of the guys who spends majority of the time lying outside the ring because he can’t handle a ladder shot. He may be rich but money can’t buy this briefcase.

Edge: (20%) Who else to win the match than the man who won the first ever Money in the Bank? He waited a long time to cash in but he picked the right time to do so as he cashed in to defeat John Cena after a long and brutal Elimination Chamber. Now he comes in with the most success so he could easily steal the show again but I don’t think he will as he is the latest Royal Rumble winner already.

Mark Henry: (2%) He won’t win for the same reasons as Big Show. The 2% represents if he gets weight loss surgery before the match.

John Morrison: (15%) He probably deserves the push more than anyone else coming into this match but he faces some tough odds. It’s been a while since he has competed in this match so he might be a little rusty but I expect him to look good in this match regardless of if he wins or not.

Winner: Randy Orton Confidence: 2/10 (20%)

    My predictions and why:
    Hart dynasty vs usos.
    Winner: hart dynasty
Because almost nobody gets a title the first month they are there.

    Sheamus vs Cena
    Winner: Obvious Cena
Because Triple H has re-injured himself otherwise sheamus would hold the title till triple h would be back and lose it to triple H.

    Mysterio vs Swagger
    Winner: mysterio.
Because they gave spoilers of the winner in the live advertisment for smackdown in australia.

    Smackdown MITB
    Winner: Christian or kane
Because I can't choose between these 2 guys.

    RAW MITB
    Winner: Edge or Orton
Because they never gonna let mid-carders like evan bourne, Mark henry, miz and the others win MITB.

For the diva matches I dont care.
