TK's Say: TNA Report 15/07/10

Welcome to the home of Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling! Last Sunday was an absolutely intense night at Victory Road but now it’s time to catch all the aftermath right here on the TNA Report!

-

The show kicks off and here are the new updated TNA #1 contender’s rankings:

#10: Rob Terry

#9: D’Angelo Dinero

#8: Kurt Angle

#7: Hernandez

#6: AJ Styles

#5: Jay Lethal

#4: Samoa Joe

#3: Mr. Anderson

#2: Jeff Hardy

#1: Abyss

-

Abyss makes his way to the ring holding his board filled with nails in one hand and a huge leg of beef on his other shoulder for some odd reason. He is the new top contender so he calls out RVD and says that “they” have a plan for RVD. That plan is beyond extreme and its beyond anything RVD has ever done.

But we’re going to have to wait till later tonight to find out those plans. Meanwhile Abyss introduces his girl Janice (board filled with nails) and then begins beating down the raw beef with Janice. Then to take things to a whole new level of crazy, he gets down on his knees and bites a chunk out of the beef. He then tells RVD that his plan involves Janice and then the segment ends with Abyss eating the raw beef.

Thoughts: Crazy opening segment by TNA but I enjoyed it more than any recent. Sure it was disturbing and short but this is the Abyss I like to see and this is the kind of gimmicks I like to watch. We still have no idea who the hell “they” are or what his “plans” are but Abyss has always been a mysterious person. (6/10)… (7/10). He scores one extra point for taking a bite out of raw beef.

Sarita vs. Taylor Wilde- Street Fight

RESULT: SARITA WINS

Thoughts: (N/A)

Brian Kendrick vs. Douglas Williams- I Quit Match (Non-Title)

The match starts off and its Williams using his fists to dominate the match. Still early on and Kendrick strikes back in the corner and then attempts to lock in his choke hold but it doesn’t work. Both men keep attempting submissions but nobody quits.

It’s finally Williams who realizes first that it is going to take more damage to win the match so he starts a nice sequence. He hits some nice suplexes and slides on his glove to begin throwing punches. The match looks in favor of Williams but Kendrick finds a way to hit a missile dropkick. Kendrick locks in the Cobra Clutch choke hold and there is no way for Williams to get out so he quits.

Kendrick starts celebrating but here comes Kevin Nash. Nash is angry at Bischoff and Hogan for not paying attention to him so he says maybe if he takes out some of the small young guys then maybe they will pay attention. He grabs Kendrick by the neck and choke slams him hard into the mat. He approaches him for more but Jeff Jarrett makes his way down the ramp to try talking Nash out of it.

Nash takes his attention off of Kendrick and says congratulations to Jarrett because he now officially has a problem with him. But who will win and get there way… he says we’ll have to wait and find out.

RESULT: KENDRICK WINS

Thoughts: Interesting that Jarrett is now getting involved with Nash but both these old guys need a feud anyways since Sting is gone and Young hasn’t been on Impact in a while. Regarding the match, I think Kendrick looked good but it seems that the only time he can ever make a statement and win is when the belt isn’t on the line. This feud is getting to predictable. (5.5/10)

Desmond Wolfe vs. Rob Terry vs. Samoa Joe

The match starts off in pure chaos so it’s hard to really tell what is going on. Joe tries to lock in a leg lock but Wolfe breaks it up and the match continues. Wolfe takes control later in the match but he does it by targeting Terry. The odd thing is that Joe was the one who attacked Wolfe at Victory Road so you would think Wolfe would be out for revenge but he seems more focused on winning.

Joe gets back in and heads high risk and tops it off with a drop kick off the top turnbuckle onto Terry. He then goes to a downed Wolfe and chokes him out for the submission win. Terry limps back into the ring and instead of Joe rampaging like normal; he shakes his hand and leaves the ring.

RESULT: SAMOA JOE WINS

Thoughts: Second match of the night and another submission victory via choke hold. I think this basic move is being overused because it is so basic that any average person will learn it at the age of five. Can’t you remember sneaking up on your dad and putting him in a choke? If you can’t then he probably didn’t love you but that isn’t the point. The point is I would have rather seen a Muscle Buster or even just a pin. (6/10)

Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs. Beer Money- Ladder Match (Match One) (Best 3-of-5 Series)

Interesting concept but shouldn’t there match at Victory Road been there first match? It was a great match at Victory Road and I guess that is why TNA wants them to keep fighting. Whoever reaches the contract tonight will not only take the series lead but will get to pick the match two stipulation.

MCMG’s take Beer Money out of the ring to start everything and they dive through the ropes to take out there opponents. The match heads back to the ring fast and it’s the MCMG that are hitting splashes in the corner that are planting Beer Money back first into the ladder.

Beer Money finds their way back in and use the ladders as weapons to hit some BRUTAL shots. Storm then heads up the ladder but doesn’t quite make it and now the “Motor City” chants start back up again.

From then on for a while it was all MCMG in this match as they managed to slam, suplex, crush, and do anything else with the ladders to beat down Beer Money. Roode tries to make a save but ends up lying back down on a ladder stretching from the ring to the crowd barrier. Shelley uses Roode as leverage to take out Storm and then Sabin hits a cross body on Roode that looked painful for both men.

Sabin and Roode then head up the ladder to battle but Roode gets sent off the ladder all the way down to the entrance ramp, taking out the referee on the way. Sabin then reaches the contract but Storm sneaks up from behind and smashes a beer bottle over his head. Storm steals the contract just as the referee gets back up and it looks like Beer Money will be rewarded match one.

RESULT: BEER MONEY WINS

Thoughts: What a match on Impact… not even a PPV! These guys put on a show and it kind of served as a preview for Money in the Bank this Sunday. These guys weren’t afraid to take some vicious ladder shots and it turned out to be a great contest. I’ve always been skeptical on if Beer Money deserves their status but they proved themselves tonight by keeping up with the MCMG. (8/10)

Matt Morgan vs. D’Angelo Dinero

Dinero uses his agility to win the match in probably under a minute. He did it so fast that I didn’t even catch the move that finished it but Morgan gets his revenge and fast. Morgan throws Dinero back in anger and then sends him out of the ring.

Anderson then charges down the ramp with a steel chair in what looks like a save but he then looks to target Dinero who he already put on the shelf for a few months. Anderson signals for Morgan to help him but then turns and starts delivering punches to Morgan. Morgan escapes backstage and Anderson then helps up his once rival Dinero.

RESULT: D’ANGELO DINERO WINS VIA PIN

Thoughts: Impact has managed to put on a lot of matches just an hour and eighteen minutes in so I wasn’t that disappointed with the match but Anderson saving Dinero is definitely interesting. He helped Hardy so I guess it isn’t that surprising but now we will see where Morgan comes into all this. (5/10)

-

Jay Lethal vs. Jeff Hardy

Both these men are ranked so somebody is about to rise and the other will fall. Lethal comes out wearing red and yellow to symbol Hulk Hogan and Hardy comes out wearing his average outfit that is far from normal.

Early on Hardy tries to break the ice with a suicide dive but it backfires as he hits outside the ring hard. Tommy Dreamer and the ECW Originals make their way through the crowd and the match goes on as the TNA wrestlers are probably used to it now.

Lethal brings the match back in the ring but Hardy lands a Whisper in the Wind to even the score. Hardy then keeps his offense going with some nice moves but has problems trying to close Lethal out with a pin. Missile dropkick hits on the money for Lethal out of nowhere but he only gets the two count.

Hardy battles back and hits a big Twist of Fate followed up by a Swanton Bomb. That is all it would take and Hardy picks up an impressive victory to maintain his spot in the rankings.

RESULT: JEFF HARDY WINS

Thoughts: I’ve been saying for weeks now that Lethal keeps winning so he should break the rankings soon. Well he did break the rankings this week but he also lost his match. Solid outing for Hardy and hopefully he can keep moving up hill… until Angle reaches him that is.

Ric Flair comes out to discuss his stable Fortune but is interrupted by Abyss and now it’s his segment. He throws off his jacket, holds up Janice, and calls out RVD. The whole FN show makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring with caution.

Abyss says “they” will be coming to TNA and when they do, there is nothing anyone can do about them taking over. Abyss says “they” laid out a blueprint for Abyss and he says that they’re going to have a match.

Abyss says it’s going to be extreme with ladders, chairs, tacks, glass, barbed wire, and more. Janice will be hung 15 feet above the ring I guess and now the only question is when and where the match will take place. Instead of answering the question, RVD attacks Abyss but he fails to take Abyss out. Abyss choke slams RVD and then things pick up.

Mick Foley appears at the top of the ramp to distract Abyss and then Raven, Rhino, Richards, and Dreamer jump the barrier and begin their attack. The TNA lockeroom heads down to take out the ECW Originals and the ring is full with pure CHAOS. Al Snow takes out a referee and that’s all I could make out in this brawl. I can only imagine that it’s like five on twenty but it seems pretty even.

Police comes down but not even they can get this under control. Dixie Carter then comes down and orders everyone to stop. She then says that she invited them and the show goes off the air.

The Top 10 part is actually new. Ive been doing Top 5 since I started writing the TNA Report but I received a request to expand my rankings so that I dont keep dropping people from the list every week. I thought "why not", so that explains the Top 10.

The Chaos Awards are a great article but I dont really rip off of it. My article comes out first so I dont ever take his picks. The Weekly Review was alot like the CA but I dont write that anymore. I simply have the TNA Impact awards to let you know my favorite parts from the show.

If youve noticed... the best match is colored "red" during the article and the best segment is in a different font...
