TK's Say: TNA Report 6/10

Welcome back to the home of Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling! Things went crazy a few weeks ago but some things were cleared up last week and everything else will be settled at Slammiversary. But before we get there, its time for another edition of Impact just three days before the PPV and its all right here on the TNA Report!

-

The show kicks off and here comes AJ Styles alongside Beer Money, Desmond Wolfe, and Kazarian. Ric Flair isnt with them but I have a feeling that he is about to be mentioned after what happened last week.

Due to Flair's absence, AJ Styles wants to handle the situation. Styles explains how there is an 8-man tag team match but they have five men in their stable. He says that five doesnt work so Kazarian is the odd man out who didnt make the cut.

The two argue a little and here comes Ric Flair! Flair's entrance theme goes off but its just Jay Lethal and he starts to try acting like Flair. He even talks like Flair and he is doing a pretty good job as an actor.

Jay Lethal goes on to say that the 8-man tag team match is going to happen tonight and his team is Abyss, Anderson, and Abyss again because he counts as two. The three head down to the ring and its a five on three brawl until Jeff Hardy comes out and clears the ring. Its looks like we got our main event and Hardy joins the team with Lethal.

Thoughts: Solid opening segment but I still think that TNA is over-using the whole brawl thing. Seems like there is a 5-10 man brawl every single week and I feel like I can predict the outcome of every one of them. But as long as the match goes clean then we have a solid main event for tonight. Lethal, Abyss, Anderson, and Hardy will take on Beer Money, Styles, and Wolfe. (6/10)

Homicide vs Brian Kendrick- One Fall Match

Kendrick will take on Doug Williams for the X-Division Championship at Slammiversary and here comes Williams as guest commentary. The fight is underway and Kendrick takes total control but almost gets himself into a Gringo Killer.

Homicide gets just a little momentum and he seems to be getting a little over confident. Homicide just continues to beat down Kendrick but Kendrick still manages to keep kicking out.

Homicide takes the tape off his hand but the referee takes it away. While the referee is throwing it out, Homicide takes the tape off his other hand and uses it to choke out Kendrick but the referee breaks it up.

The match goes ringside and Kendrick has a short burst of a comeback but Homicide fights out of it. Homicide then goes and gets a weapon of some sort that is used to stab somebody but the referee stops him from using it and Kendrick then delivers a kick to the face on the distraction. Kendrick then picks up the three count and the win.

Thoughts: Not the best match that the X-Division could put up but it was about average. Douglas Williams was solid on commentary and confident. Good to see Homicide in action but I think he is way better than Kendrick and that match got stolen away from him. Not sure what he would have done with the weapon because no match is worth murder charges but decent match none the less. (5.5/10)

Shannon Moore and Jesse Neil are in the ring and they call out Bubba. Here comes Team 3D and security is there to make sure that it doesnt go past words. Brother Ray calls out Jesse Neil for being a failure and a bad marine and that just sets Neil off.

Shannon Moore gets the microphone and calls Brother Ray a bully and Brother Devon a puppet. Devon doesnt seem to want to be a part of this so he tells Ray to just quit picking on Neil and then Devon leaves. Brother Ray follows him out of the ring but lays out Moore before exiting.

Thoughts: Another alright confrontation segment but still nothing special. Brother Ray didnt seem to have anything to do with Moore and Neil being laid out backstage the last two weeks with cards on them. It obviously seems like an act of Orlando Jordan but who knows at this point. (4/10)

The Band (c) vs Matt Morgan & ??? - TNA Tag Team Championships

Matt Morgan comes out first thinking he is getting his rematch tonight and a mystery partner but Hogan comes out instead. Hulk Hogan says that Morgan has stabbed so many people in the back that there is no doubt why he cant find a partner.

Hogan announces that he found Morgan a partner and here comes Hernandez! The man that Matt Morgan backstabbed and injured is back and with a vengeance. Hernandez makes his way down to the ring and begins to start beating Matt Morgan down.

Matt Morgan is getting placed on a stretcher and Hogan raises Hernandez's hand as he heads up the ramp. Redemption and revenge has taken place but it isnt over because the two will face off at Slammiversary.

Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Eric Young make their way to the ring and the bell rings to start this match. Eric Young walks over to the stretcher and pins Matt Morgan to retain the belts.

Thoughts: This was more a segment then a match but I was still happy with it. Ive been waiting for Hernandez to come back for a while now and finally the time is here and they will face off at Slammiversary. Im still mad about there being no King of the Mountain but im looking forward to this match now. L.A.X could be back soon and Morgan should be getting what he deserves at Slammiversary. (6/10)

RVD is backstage doing an interview when Sting strikes out of nowhere. He chokes out RVD and then beats him down. Afterwards he steals the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and walks off with it.

Thoughts: This might not be the last time we see the belt on Sting's shoulder because he holds all the momentum going into Slammiversary. (N/A)

Kurt Angle vs Amazing Red

Angle comes out to warm up for Kazarian and will have a match with the greatest X-Division wrestler in his words. Here comes Amazing Red and the match is underway.

Kurt Angle tries to take early control but Amazing Red uses his high flying abilities to tire out Angle. Angle gets back into the match by hitting a clothesline that about turns Amazing Red inside out but the match is still close.

Amazing Red drops Angle on his head but he only gets a near fall. Angle then plants Red with a suplex but Red answers with a very brutal move that about breaks Angle's skull on the ring mat. Kurt Angle is then able to finish Amazing Red off and raises his hand after the match to show good sportsmanship.

Thoughts: Kurt Angle looked good in his return match and Red wasnt to bad himself either. Short match but it got the job done and Angle might be getting a few headaches after that match. Any match where you're surprised that nobody was busted open is a good one and I think Angle is ready for Kazarian. (6.5/10)

Sting is shown somewhere backstage in a dark room and sitting in his lap is the Heavyweight Championship. The word of the month in TNA is "deception" and Sting is ready to bring change to TNA.

Thoughts: Not a big segment but I thought ide mention it. Only question now is if he can finish the job at Slammiversary. (N/A)

Abyss, Jeff Hardy, Jay Lethal, & Anderson vs Beer Money, AJ Styles, & Desmond Wolfe

This chaotic match starts off with Abyss taking on both members of Beer Money. He finds a way to down them both which makes sense because he does count as two men.

Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles do battle in the ring and Styles keeps putting all the pressure on Hardy who struggles just to get a tag. Styles tags in Beer Money and members of their team just take turns beating on Hardy as he still cant get to his corner.

Jeff Hardy finally gets the tag to Jay Lethal but the referee didnt see it so the fresh man is forced to leave the ring. Hardy gets back in and Styles just picks the assault back up.

Hardy finally crawls to the corner and gets the legal tag to Jay Lethal and he comes in hot. He starts dropping people until Wolfe stops his rampage by planting him with a DDT. Jeff Hardy hits a Twist of Fate on James Storm and Abyss hits a chokeslam on Robert Roode.

Things seem to be going their way but AJ Styles finishes off Jay Lethal with his finisher and picks up the win for his team.

Thoughts: Ive fallen into the feel of TNA matches and I understand a decent match is a good match but this was a total waste of the talent they had in the ring. The theme of this match was Jeff Hardy taking a beating before the match rapidly came to an end. Not a good main event but I will take it easy on them since there is a PPV coming up. (4.5/10)

-

Sting attacks RVD backstage from behind and the brawl starts there. The two rage war and minutes later, there in the ring fighting. It ends with Sting delivering a chair shot to drop RVD and then handing over the belt. "This is deception. And its yours for three more days."

Thoughts: Another brawl like usual but this one dragged on. The whole deception idea is alright but the brawl was over done like when Jarrett and Sting were in there rivalry. (5/10)

Best Performer: Kurt Angle (The match was ok but Angle took some big blows. He put his body on the line back at Lockdown and he took some brutal shots again. Good to see that some guys arent afraid to take one for the company.)

Best Statement: Sting (After what he did to RVD, there is no question why he got this award. Now he has all the momentum going into Slammiversary but he still has to finish.)

Best Moment: Hernandez Returning (Ive been waiting for this return so now he just needs to get revenge on Matt Morgan and then hopefully L.A.X comes back.)
