Since I didn’t get to watch Jeff and Angle’s match last week (Stupid TNA) I don’t know who won but apparently it must have been a draw because it’s a three way match for the TNA world title. With that out of the way let’s get started shall we? Pope is basically screaming at Bischoff backstage saying that “he wants in” and asks for the main event at BFG to be a 4 way. Bischoff says that if Pope can beat Samoa Joe tonight then he’ll make it a 4 way match for the title. Max is at ringside so I’m fairly certain something will go down. The match starts off straight away with an interference from Max but he is soon exiled to the back so I guess that sorts that problem out. Maybe now TNA can have a nice fair match. Apparently Sabin has a bad shoulder but continues to use it by performing shoulder blocks and stuff like that. Regardless Sabin is still in control, that is until Jeremy hits that springboard face plant move that he does but it’s not enough and only gets a two count. The young man carries on his neck assault but it doesn’t last for long as Sabin manages to reverse a tornado DDT, hit a spin kick and get a quick roll up for the 3 count. Joe starts off and basically mows Pope down with a jump kick. Joe stays pretty much in control and gets a few two counts but Pope does try to mount an offence but is rejected a few times. Pope finally gets some control and it looks like he could hit a DDE but Jeff Jarrett walks down to the ring to offer “moral support” to Joe but it distracts Pope long enough for Joe to make a comeback. Sting and Nash come to ringside and start being on Jarrett but Joe can’t help as he’s still in the match with Pope which doesn’t last much longer as Joe manages to lock in a rear naked choke and “chokes out” Pope. Anderson is seen walking towards the ring.
Rob Terry Vs. Abyss
Abyss starts off in control of the match (go figure), Isn’t Terry basically a jobber now anyways? Oh, no, Rob hit a nice roundhouse kick. Seems he’s not a jobber anymore. The advantage doesn’t last for long as Abyss hits a close line and goes back on the offence but again that doesn’t last long as Rob Terry hit’s a power slam and goes for the pin but only gets a 2 count. He attempts a choke slam but Abyss stops it and hits a choke slam of his own for the two count. The screen turns split screen and we see Hardy and RVD presumably walking to the ring saying “he’s out there now” (definite interruption coming up.) Abyss rips up a guard rail and nails Rob Terry with it which causes Abyss to get disqualified so I guess that means Terry wins.
Match Rating = 3/5. It was an alright match but a bit short and there wasn’t a proper finish.
I wanna get physical, physical.
After the match Abyss carries on beating on Terry with the guard rail. Soon RVD hobbles his way to the ring through the crowd carrying a steel chair but is intercepted by security. Abyss goes to pick up “Janice” but is walked away by a few security guards wielding steel chair. RVD fights his way through the crowd and into the ring presumably to say something. RVD calls out Eric Bischoff and says that his doctor has given him a clearance date and guess when it is? …….. Yeah you guessed it, 10.10.10. Bischoff sets a match between RVD and Abyss for Bound For Glory.
Do me a favour?
Bischoff is still in the ring and is shortly joined by Pope who proceeds to tell Eric that he’s full of crap and a con man . Pope then starts talking about his recent achievements. Eric responds by telling Pope to speak to him in the back like a professional then they both leave.
I’m not ok, (I promise.)
Lacey Von Erich walks into a room where Angelina Love and Velvet Sky are getting their make up done and sits down with a face like thunder. TBP ask Lacey what is wrong and she starts swearing a lot, I think the jist of it was that she’s angry at Madison Rayne and Tara.
There is a short VT about Shannon Moore where he talks about Hogan, Jesse Neil and how he likes to be judged by other people who don’t know him.
I want in!
Jeremy Buck Vs. Chris Sabin.
Match Rating = 4/5. I love Sabin and I’m starting to like Jeremy but I think this match was quite short, however since Sabin was “injured” I think it was a very nice match that put across GenMe as the heels that they are.
Max Buck is out immediately after the match and begins to attack Sabin. The onslaught carries on and they hit that double ddt from the top rope again.
The Beautiful People Vs. Taylor Wilde & Hamada ( Knockout’s tag title match.)
Lacey and Taylor start off the match and Lacey hits a lot of arm drags but tags in to Velvet which allows the now legal Hamada to hit a big boot and change the pace of the match. Hamada attempts a moonsault but Velvet dodges it and then dropkicks Hamada straight back into her corner so she can tag in Taylor and from point in the tag champs have a lot of the control and constantly dominate Lacey. There is a pretty horrible looking hurricanrana from Lacey (horrible in the sense of the poorly performed) and then there’s a bit of a rush involving people but it ends up with Taylor and Lacey in the ring again where Madison Rayne decides to interfere and hit Lacey in the back of the head with that bike helmet she’s started using which sets Taylor up for a nice jump kick and the 3 count.
Match Rating = 2/5 I normally quite enjoy the knockouts wrestling but Lacey’s hurricanrana was seriously horrible. The woman CAN NOT wrestle.
The whole entirety of EV2 are seen walking backstage.
Pope Vs. Samoa Joe.
Match Rating = 4/5, This match was pretty good, I think the match could have been better without the Sting/Nash/Jarrett fiasco but I also love it when a match is won by a submission.
Joe immediately rolls out of the ring and helps out his ally Jarrett. The four guys fight for a while and then the camera cuts to backstage where EV2 are.
The boys are back in town.
Tommy Dreamer says that Dixie Carter has arranged for a Lethal Lockdown match at BFG between EV2 and Fortune (OMG) and that Sabu has a match against AJ tonight in a ladder match (ZOMG) with the winner getting the man advantage.
It is no big secret.
Anderson walks to the ring and then calls out Angle. Anderson cracks a few jokes which I’ll admit were pretty funny and he also makes a reference to Popeye the sailor man. He says that Angle is without a doubt the best there is but at 10.10.10 Anderson is planning on being better by about three seconds. Angle says that he respects Anderson for saying that to his face and then he goes on to say that if he didn’t have wrestling then he wouldn’t have anything. The two guys shake hands and then Angle leaves.
Those guys gone forever.
Ric Flair is giving a pep talk to fortune about the lethal lockdown match at BFG and that’s about it UNTIL fortune decide to ice Ric Flair. I’m now happy because the inner internet nerd in me is happy. Flair downs the “cheer beer” and that’s about it.
What ‘chu want?
Pope is seen talking to Nash and Sting and asks them why they came to him for help. They talk some more and I’m pretty much confused by this point. I think I missed something.
Aj Styles Vs. Sabu (Ladder Match)
The object they are after in this match is a small little key which presumably will be for the lethal lockdown cage. Ric Flair and Morgan are at ringside so I can’t see this match ending fairly. Aj owns Sabu for a while. Sabu eventually gets a slight advantage and goes outside to get the ladder but he’s followed by AJ and they fight outside for a bit. Sabu lays out AJ with a suplex and tries to put the ladder into the ring but AJ recovers in time and pulls it back outside before Sabu can set it up.
Match Rating = Official hatred / 5. Read next bit for reasoning.
It’s at this point that I officially hate the internet. Basically the rest of this match is not on the internet so I can’t report it( Sad face), I sincerely apologise. I’m sure this is karma getting it’s own back on me for that spider I squashed last week or something. Anyway carrying on we see Abyss storm into a room with Jeff Hardy, knock down the camera man then decimates Jeff Hardy but we don’t see that.
I have your friend.
Abyss carries a lifeless Hardy to the ring and then says that RVD was never supposed to come back from his injury. Abyss calls him ignorant and pathetic. Apparently “they” told Abyss to get rid of RVD and Abyss made a mistake by leaving RVD still breathing. Abyss says that on 10.10.10 “they” will reveal themselves and begin the takeover of TNA. Abyss calls out Rob and he obliges by hobbling his way to the ring wielding a steel chair which he uses to knock Abyss back into the ring when he tries to exit to meet his crippled self on the ramp. Abyss hits a steel augmented big boot. Abyss picks up Janice and stands over RVD menacingly but then Ink Inc. run out to the ring to make the save with some nice missile drop kicks.
That’s about it for TNA Impact this week. I’m sorry I couldn’t get a full overview but seemingly the internet hates me. I’ll try my best to deliver again next week but until then I’ve been Spriorite … and I’m out.
