TNA Report 4/26/10

Welcome to the new and improved TNA Report!

-

The show opens with a promo that highlights the main event from last week between AJ styles and RVD. Rob Van Dam hits the Five Star Frogsplash and becomes the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion!

-

After the introduction video and after the fireworks clear, Hulk Hogan makes his way to the ring. He talks about how happy he is and how much TNA has improved since RVD became champion a week ago. Hulk Hogan says he has a new championship contenders ranking system that involves the fans but he didnt really explain it. He openly admits that AJ Styles is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time but then follows up by bringing RVD down to the ring for his first address as champion.

RVD not only wishes to be known as "The Whole FN Show" but now he wants to be known as "Mr. TNA, Rob Van Dam". He goes on to brag about how good he is and that he is one of the toughest guys out there. Throughout his whole mic segment, he is constantly interrupted by Rob Van Dam chants but I guess thats more respect than rude.

AJ Styles and Ric Flair make their way to the ring and now things are about to get interesting. The first thing said by Hogan is, "nobody invited you ex-champions out here". The crowd continues to chant for RVD and Styles is forced to talk over them. Styles calls RVD a hippy and Flair calls Hogan out on the whole hall of fame ring ordeal. So tonight its going to be Flair taking on Abyss for both rings.

The Beautiful People are backstage complaining about Madison Rayne having to put her title on the line in a triple threat match. They think they've been screwed over but regardless of if they like it or not... the title will still be up for grabs against two former champions.

Madison Rayne (c) vs Angelina Love vs Tara- TNA Knockouts Championship

The Beautiful People are banned from ringside before the match which makes it more interesting. Madison Rayne eventually picks up the win without them by rolling up Angelina Love after she knocked Tara out of the ring. After the match Angelina attacks Tara and it takes multiple male security guards to break them up. Funny thing is that they struggled for a while just to break up the two knockouts.

Winner: Madison Rayne (Still TNA Knockouts Champion)

Match Rating: N/A

Kazarian (c) vs Shannon Moore- X-Division Championship

The match starts out fast and at a quick pace. The two exchange arm drags and the match is underway. The "Prince of Punk" takes the early initiative but the champion quickly regains his composer and throws Shannon Moore into the referee. The referee is knocked out and the match now immediately becomes a match with no rules. Kazarian joins Shannon Moore on the top turnbuckle but has his hurricanrana rejected by Moore. Moore stays on the top turnbuckle to land a high risk move but Matt Morgan runs out and knocks Shannon Moore down to the floor mat while the referee is still down. And you cant blame him because Moore was a little brutal when he rejected Matt Morgan last week on Impact. Kazarian takes advantage and hits his finisher on Shannon Moore at the same time the referee gets back up. Kazarian gains the pin and the victory to retain his title.

Winner: Kazarian (Still X-Division Champion)

Match Rating: 4.5/10

After the match, Samoa Joe who made his return last week, comes out and circles the X-Division Champion. Samoa Joe delivers a punch to Kazarian and follows it up with a Musclebuster to continue his rampage. Douglas Williams who was stripped of the title is still nowhere in sight.

Jeff Hardy & Jeff Jarrett vs Sting & AJ Styles- No DQ and Falls Count Anywhere

The bell doesnt even ring and the four are already raging battle. The bell rings and the match is underway with a fast start. Sting and Jarrett start off the match and directly head into the crowd to begin the match just like last week. Sting and Jarrett are back in the ring and a double shoulder block sends both of them down to the mat. When they get up, they both tag in their partners and Jeff Hardy goes to work on AJ Styles. Meanwhile, Sting heads backstage for some reason as the match goes on. But remember... its falls count anywhere in this contest.

Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles head outside the ring and Hardy delivers a big blow that sends Styles off the ramp. Sting and Jeff Jarrett meet up on some backstage steps as this is going on but it ends quick when Sting rocks Jarrett with his trademark baseball bat. Hardy sets up AJ Styles on a table outside the ring and gets out a massive ladder and sets it up. Sting gets the three count before Hardy can deliver the Swanton Bomb so the referee pulls the table away from harms way. Its a shame that the move couldnt follow through but we still got some nice hype for Sting and Jeff Jarrett at Sacrifice.

Winner: Sting and AJ Styles

Match Rating: 5.5/10

After the match, Team 3D and Jesse Neil are shown backstage talking about Neil joining with Matt Morgan. Team 3D gives him there blessing but they say not to fully trust Matt Morgan and that they plan on giving Neil the toughest match he has ever fought.

D'Angelo Dinero comes out looking blingy and rich as ever. He doesnt waste any time so he calls out AJ Styles. Dinero refers to AJ Styles as an object in life that he tripped over but guess what? D'Angelo Dinero is standing back up and he has the fans fired up. That is until the entrance theme of Mr. Anderson booms the arena speakers and Anderson heads down to the ring. The microphone lowers from the ceiling and the spotlight is on. Anderson calls D'Angelo Dinero the kool-aid man and im not exactly sure why but he starts to trash talk the crowd as well.

Anderson is still as arrogant as ever but Dinero silences him by telling him to shut the hell up. Two seconds later and the quiet is over and Anderson is back to mocking Dinero. Anderson bocks like a chicken until finally Dinero decides to keep his pimp hand strong by back hand slapping Anderson. Anderson then jams his thumb into the injured eye socket of Dinero's. The challenge for Sacrifice is still up in the air but most likely it will be accepted by Dinero after that encounter.

Matt Morgan (c) & Jesse Neil vs Team 3D- TNA World Tag Team Titles

Brother Devon and Jesse Neil kick off the match and the two seem to even eachother out with even strength so Devon tags in Brother Ray. Jesse Neil gets caught up in the bear hug of Brother Ray's when all of a sudden the entrance theme of the Wolf Pac starts and The Band makes their way down to the ring and Team 3D meets them halfway up the ramp. The bell rings to end the match in no contest but the battle outside the ring continues. Jesse Neil joins the fight and helps Team 3D fight off The Band but if he cant save himself. Matt Morgan slams Jesse Neil to the mat and betrays his third partner. Good luck finding someone to join you now Morgan.

Winner: Matt Morgan & Jesse Neil by DQ (Matt Morgan Still TNA World Tag Team Champion)

Match Rating: 2/10

Jesse Neil is still in the ring freaking out when Impact comes back on. Neil calls out Matt Morgan saying that he isnt finished with him yet but Matt Morgan doesnt seem to care about it. That is until Hulk Hogan meets him backstage and tells him that he either deals with him or he goes out and deals with Jesse Neil. Morgan heads back down to the impact zone but ends up getting thrown down by Neil. Matt Morgan then delivers a cheap blow to the groin and takes out Neil with his title belt. Shannon Moore sprints down to the ring and catches Matt Morgan with a missile dropkick to get his revenge. Jesse Neil and Shannon Moore then celebrate in the ring.

Eric Bischoff is shown sitting at his desk and he begins to explain the new TNA contender's system. Its this simple. You got to TNAwrestling.com and vote for who you think deserves a title shot for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Ric Flair vs Abyss- Hall of Fame Ring Match

Its time for experience to take on size and power. Abyss has the early control in the match and forces Ric Flair to exit the ring to re-group but Abyss heads outside to join him. Abyss starts to deliver punches which opens up the cut that was originally started by a brass knuckles shot. Ric Flair goes to the top rope but it doesnt really work out for him so well as Abyss brings him back down to the ring hard.

Ric Flair delivers a low blow to the referee that fazes him just long enough for Flair to break out the brass knuckles. Flair gets the three count and the victory but the referee notices the brass knuckles when raising Flair's hand. So after some shoving, the match is restarted! Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam just moments later and picks up another Hall of Fame ring. Hulk Hogan comes out and peels it off of Ric Flair's hand but the presentation wont come until next week.

Winner: Abyss

Weekly Awards:

Best Performer: Abyss

Best Statement: Mr. Anderson

Best Moment: New TNA World Heavyweight Champion delivers his first address

-

Since TNA is now releasing there new TNA rankings system; I will take it upon myself to start a top five list that ranks the top contenders. My ranking system will be updated weekly to give the most accurate results:

TNA Top Five:

1) Mr. Anderson (After surviving his brutal match at Lockdown, there is no doubt that he has enough momentum to be #1 contender)

2) Rob Terry (Yeah he is already the Global Champion but there is still no doubt that he has been on a full out rampage since coming into TNA)

3) AJ Styles (He lost the belt but did anyone forget how long he held that thing? A long time so he deserves his rematch)

4) Samoa Joe (On a full out rampage, the Samoan submission machine is out to destroy anyone who gets in his path. If he decides to go for the Heavyweight gold then RVD could be in big trouble)

5) Abyss (It was way back at Destination X that Abyss put AJ Styles right through the ring. He never got another shot but he has proved himself worthy since)

Outside Looking In: (Jeff Jarrett, Sting, D'Angelo Dinero, Douglas Williams, and Jeff Hardy)
