Shawn Michaels Announcement
The Philadelphia Phighter: Shawn announces he can wrestle again. Just a really good idea for a storyline that was wasted. Prediction: Shawn says he can wrestle again
The Vince: However this goes, HBK will probably be on RAW the next night. He’ll probably say something like “After 20 years in this ring.. my body-“ then bwam, someone’s music interrupts, possibly Jericho, who hasn’t had a match since … er.. when? Anywho, look for this to be a halfway interesting segment.
The Glide: We all know Shawn will be living to fight another day. Whether or not this angle still leads to the eventual end of his career is less obvious. I think this Summerslam will be his last. Winner: Shawn Michaels’ Foot over Chris Jericho’s Chin
Mr. Indianapolis: Of course, Shawn’s injury storyline involved in the whole Jericho feud is definitely built. But how will this affect the future of his career? Well, seeing as how he has matches booked in future house shows against Y2J, I bet he’s not going anywhere. Not yet anyway. Shawn Michaels will retire on his terms. Prediction: Shawn Michaels retains. His career, that is. ;)
Kofi Kingston & Mickie James vs. Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix (Winners Take All)
The Vince: Santino has been on a career-long losing streak, and there’s no reason WWE has to change that to keep his fling with Beth Phoenix going. Beth has been the women’s champ for a great portion of her still-young career. Kind of like Cena. Do the math on it to see what percentage of his career he’s been WWE champ. It’s disturbing. Anyways, Mickie James is inexplicably pushed and Kofi is still a rising star. Winners: Team FACE
The Philadelphia Phighter: I'm actually looking forward to this more than the World Heavyweight and ECW Title Matches. This match can steal the show, to be honest. I see Santino hitting a 'finisher' on Mickie, and a good lip-lock session. I can't wait until the WWE writers ruin the beauty of this relationship.. Winners, and NEW Women's and Intercontinental Champions: Stereotypical Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix
The Glide: Yeah, like Santino Marella is going to get another title run after the last time. If it was just Beth vs. Mickie, I’d be on the fence. As currently constructed, this match can have only one…err…two winners. This week’s RAW suggests that Mickie James gets the feel-good pin on Santino. If she proceeds to do the trombone dance, I’m retiring right there, because how could you top that? Winners, and still champions: Kofi Kingston & Mickie James
The White Ranger: I don’t see the point in this match. There’s no reason for Beth and Santino to be involved. Let Kofi and Mickie finish their respective feuds with the Burchill siblings for Christ sakes. However ridiculous I think the suddenness with which they were thrown in to the match will be their undoing. Since there is no build, and this may just be wishful thinking, I think we will see title retentions. Winners…Kofi and Mickie.
Akira Kagami: Undoubtedly this is the most unusual match for the night. Will Santino’s flirt with the Glamazon pay off and earn him his second Intercontinental strap or will his cockiness cost him the title AND his hide? I’m guessing the latter and Beth will pummel him to bits. WINNER BY PIN (Mickie) AND STILL INTERCONTINENTAL & WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS: KOFI KINGSTON & MICKIE JAMES
Curtis Kash: First time this has ever happened?....Not Quite! This idea originated right here on TWG! In last season’s Relentless Wrestling PPV...a match exactly like this took place...then Vince McMahon went and stole our idea....nice one McMahon!! But anyways..this should be an interesting bout though I was expecting the challengers to be The Burchills (maybe they could have made it a 3 way?) but the Santino-Glamazon hook up has caught my eye and I’m glad their running with it! I believe we will have new champions here for 2 reasons....firstly, I believe Santino has no problems with kicking the crap out of women so that should stand him in good stead against Mickie...secondly, I honestly believe that The Glamazon will CRUSH Kofi in a bearhug...it’s not good to be the monkey man around Beth Phoenix believe me.... Winners (And New Champions): Santino + Glamazon
Mr. Indianapolis: Ok. Definitely an odd match. See, here’s the thing. If Santino doesn’t win the match, he’s never going to get the title back. On the other hand, Beth has faced the entire Women’s division roster on RAW. If she wins the title... well, she’ll be stuck. And thus, so will Mickie. Kofi is overall unaffected. Heck, nobody expected him to win the title, after all. All things considered, why ruin the status quo? Ah, the status quo. Prediction: Kofi/Mickie to retain.
Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Jeff Hardy
The Vince: When was the last time Umaga won a PPV match? When was the last time MVP won a PPV match? When was the last time Chavo Guerrero won a PPV match? See where I’m going? Like another pointless, quickly-set-up Umaga feud (see One Night Stand 2008) the face will win, and maybe not continue this rivalry afterwards. Jeff Hardy FTW… maybe.
The Philadelphia Phighter: Come on all, this is more simple than picking Triple H vs. Edge at GAB last month. Even though the match was made, I'm still going to do what I said I would in Assorted Nuts. 'I will break down, lay on the ground, and cry.' Can I at least beg for a ladder match? No? Sigh. Winner of the Grudge Match: Jeff Hardy
The Glide: Hmm…who to push? The hard worker who’s brilliant in the ring and on the mic, or the guy one slipup away from losing his job? Hey, great idea! Let’s go with the druggie! Jeff Hardy is too over right now for them to use common sense in his booking, so… Winner: Jeff Hardy
The White Ranger: MVP made a mockery of the single most traumatic event in Jeff’s life, and has interfered in two of his matches costing Hardy decisive wins that he could use. Jeff has yet to gain any leverage in the feud, and I think that’s going to change at Summer Slam. I hope that this feud goes for another couple of months, but look for Hardy to try and it Sunday. Both are great competitors, but the deciding factor will be motivation. Jeff will be looking to shut MVP up once and for all. Winner: Jeff Hardy
Akira Kagami: I don’t really know how bad Jeff felt when MVP brought Jeff’s dog into the discussion so I’m going on a loop and say this may be the most personal grudge we’ve seen so far this year. They’re about the same size so expect a lot of high risk from the Rainbow but MVP will take him down with sneaky moves. Happy ending demands that the Big Boot from MVP will miss and set him up for a Swanton Bomb! WINNER BY PIN (Swanton Bomb): JEFF HARDY
Curtis Kash: I am thrilled this match is on the card...it’s got two great competitors squaring off for the first time but not only that, but this match has been built properly...it has got bags of emotion and the story has really touched through to the fans (Read my Smackdown Reports for proof of that). Most believe Jeff is gonna come out and win it triumphantly and "prove to the world" that he is more than just a self centered risk taker....well in my opinion, he’s gonna take a beat down from Mr. Porter here...there is a real life angle here about how irresponsible Jeff is....and I think it will be MVP's job to teach him some responsibility.... Winner: MVP
Mr. Indianapolis: I hate the storyline for this feud, but the match is going to be great. Both of these guys can sell, and that always makes a good match. Then, to top it off, MVP has the mat skills, and Hardy has the high-flying comebacks. Brilliant match, I guarantee. So, how did these guys find their way on the card? I suspect one will be gunning for the WWE Championship next. And I suspect that person to be the winner... Prediction: Jeff Hardy
John Cena vs. Batista
The Vince: There is no such thing as a dream match today. Even Ric Flair vs. HBK wasn’t a dream match. John Cena is WWE’s biggest revenue teat, and Batista is Triple H’s creation. All I can say is I hope this match ends in disqualification, so it displeases the general public. That way it won’t happen again. If I had to guess, I’d pick Batista to win it.
The Philadelphia Phighter: Again, wasn't this called Cena vs. HBK at WM23, but it was for the WWE Championship? Oh well. It's for number one contendership rights I would think. We've seen Batista job too much to champions right now, he needs to sit back and watch. Cena wins after the world's most awesome counter of the Batista Bomb into the FU. Winner of the Match: John Cena
The Glide: These guys have more history than they’d care to admit, mostly tied to their simultaneous rises to their first world titles, spurred by their faceoff at the ’05 Royal Rumble, and augmented by being on opposite sides of repeated tag bouts during the silly brand extension razing before Mania in ‘07. Usually, a matchup between these two would give me cause to admit level ground, but there’s an extra factor here: which one of these guys already burned his title shot, and which one needs to be kept strong for his first ever match against the current champion? Winner: John Cena
The White Ranger: Is it just me or do none of these SS matches have any build to them. This one’s lack of build is especially disappointing. I’m going to ignore that they are tag champs, and just say that if WWE has one thing right it’s that we’ve all been waiting to see this since Wrestlemania 21. Why was it these two that sparked that Champ vs. Champ thought in everyone’s head. No one ever thought Triple H vs. JBL when they were World Champions. I think it’s because Cena and Batista ushered in a new boom period for WWE that lasted about 3 years, and my not be over quite yet. The point is we’ve all wanted to see this for years, and the only way WWE could screw this up is to have someone interfere or something stupid like that. They’re about even going in, and I can’t tell who the majority thinks is going to win. The bright side is that this is only a first encounter and it will get bigger in months to come. At Summer Slam your winner is… Dave Batista.
Akira Kagami: Truth be told, I didn’t even realize this until they brought it up... So now, everybody will get to see “The Animal” take on “The Doctor of Thuganomics” for the very first time! I expect to see a lot of haymakers, body slams and raging clotheslines, but I also hope to see either of these two deviate to different tactics (submissions, high-risk) due to the fact they’re both powerhouses. I’m betting in the end Cena will slap on the STFU and make the Animal tap. Afterwards, Batista will beat the snot out of Cena to get the heat WWE writers desperately want to give him for so long… and fail since people love guys beat the snot out of Cena~ nice try WWE writers! WINNER BY TAP OUT (STFU): JOHN CENA
Curtis Kash: The UNSTOPPABLE FORCE meets the IMMOVABLE OBJECT.....give me a break! Now I will say this much...Batista-Cena is a big draw...a star studded match containing two of the biggest faces (arguably) in the company going head to head for the first time ever (on TV anyway). But let’s face facts....both are worthless as in ring competitors...and these two will be expected to put on at least a 20-25 minute bout...who will carry the match? And what about all the fans....kids won’t know who to cheer for...Guys like me won’t know who to boo louder...should make for an interesting atmosphere! There is a heel turn coming here.....and it has to be Batista. Batista +Foreign Object+Anger= Cena Victory. Winner: John Cena (via DQ)
Mr. Indianapolis: You’ll notice WWE put “John Cena vs. Batista”. Why put Cena first? Batista is first alphabetically no matter which way you put it. Priorities much? Anyway, this is one of two big reasons to watch the PPV. Oh yeah - it’s a paper match. Looks good on paper, probably not going to be that good. But still, the WWE is giving this match away, much like John Cena vs. Bobby Lashley a year ago. Though at least this is on one of the Big Four. In the end though, I can’t see Batista hitting a Batista Bomb on Cena. I suspect either an F-U, or shenanigans. Shenanigans would be a personal favorite, as I feel no need to ever put one of these guys over the other. Prediction: John Cena or Bust.
Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy (ECW Championship)
The Vince: ‘Big Drippy’ as he is so affectionately called, is probably looking forward to the best match of his career. Matt Hardy is so charismatic, and unlike most “underdogs”, he can WRASSLE. I believe Matt Hardy’s charisma is actually rubbing off on Mark Henry. His entire career Drippy has been fighting TOP stars, and he obviously is not one. It was always to job, or to dominate. No great rivalries. But this is a different story. When Mark Henry’s music hit during that Dirt Sheet segment on ECW, the general feeling was “Ohhh… s*** look what they did.” This won’t be memorable, considering all the other big matches at Summerslam, but it could be a lot better than ECW’s standard. I’m thinking Predator *COUGH* I mean Mark Henry will win it.

The Philadelphia Phighter: Get out of the ring. Vacate the belt. Oh, so I have to pick a winner? Mark Henry, so he can bend the ring post next week, or Matt Hardy? Hand Henry his post. Winner, and STILL Champion: 'The World's Sweatiest Strongest Champion' Mark Henry
The Glide: The “new champion with new manager” rule still applies. This title is Mark’s until Finlay comes to get it. Simple as that. Winner: Big Drippy
The White Ranger: Mark Henry’s reign has just begun, but he hasn’t done anything since it started. Matt on the other hand has been busy. We all know that he lost the U.S. Title so that he could get his ECW Title push. Hardy won what I thought was a rather lackluster Fatal Four Way as far as the talent involved is concerned. The problem with this feud is that it doesn’t exist. Hardy and Henry have had virtually no build. Henry bent something, and they beat up the Dirt Sheet. Despite nothing happening so far this feud will pick up in months to come. So at Summer Slam your winner and still champion…Mark Henry
Akira Kagami: Seriously, where’s the love for “Big Drippy” (as some have come to refer to Mark Henry)? He maybe ridiculously wet most of the time and jobbed a lot but he’s okay for me as the ECW champ. Not much will happen here since Matt Hardy’s got so little on his corner while Henry has Atlas to back him up. Summary of match? (1) some power moves by Henry (2) Side Effect to middle rope leg drop from Hardy (3) Twist of Fate and (4) World’s Strongest Slam (5) The End WINNER BY PIN (World’s Wette… I mean Strongest Slam) AND STILL ECW CHAMPION: MARK HENRY
Curtis Kash: Do I REALLY have to go through with this one...uh I guess I do...with all the comings and goings in WWE these days....these two guys have become mainstays in the company...and I guess this is why WWE re-juvenated ECW as a brand...to make guys like this feel important and feel like their main event. Of course to us...the ECW title match is the equivalent of a US Title match (Except that with a US Title match you get to see Shelton in action rather than The Worlds Fattest Man). I think Matt Hardy will do his best here to put on a decent showing...he will play the spirited underdog card well until his spirit (and spine) is crushed by The Worlds Fattest Slam.... Winner (And still ECW Champion): Mark Henry
Mr. Indianapolis: If Mark Henry loses, he goes back to being the World’s Strongest Jobber. If Matt Hardy loses, he lost the US title for nothing, and goes back to the wonderful world of “nowhere-land”. Either way, these guys are in trouble. And really, how good could this match be? Anyway, I doubt Henry can bend down to take Twist of Fate, and I really doubt Hardy, as one of the faces of ECW, is going to be buried very quickly. I sense shenanigans! Prediction: Shenanigans!
CM Punk vs. JBL (World Heavyweight Championship)
The Vince: The longest reigning Champion in SD television history vs. A walking soda advert.
A former member of the APA vs. A guy who won’t touch a cigar. The Wrestlingaaaaah GOD! vs. The man who didn’t hold a microphone.
(Search Youtube for “CM Punk is not holding a mic” and turn your speakers up. Being straightedge doesn’t mean you can’t curse.)
If you couldn’t tell, I’m pulling for JBL. If they want anyone to take him seriously anymore they’ve got to give him the strap at a big PPV. Winner: Bradshaw
The Philadelphia Phighter: Yes, WWE has listened to me! Joy to the world! Find a bell and ring it! Shout it the world! JBL, finally goes back on top of the world! Count on it! Sorry for so many !s, but I'm really happy about this match. JBL wins and we are set free from CM Punk's Prestige Killing reign. Winner, and NEW Champion: JBL
The Glide: I guess if there was ever a time for JBL to become champion, it would be after defeating Cena on Pay Per View. I still don’t buy it, though. Maybe just because I don’t want to. To me, it has to be either Cena or Jericho that eventually takes the title off of Punk. Whether or not JBL just beat Cena, Punk’s future would kind of be shot if JBL ends his title reign after just two months. Winner: Crazy Mariachi Punk
The White Ranger: At first I hated this match, but now I think I see why WWE went this direction. CM Punk is very popular with just about everybody, but especially kids. JBL is hated by just about everybody, but especially kids. Pairing Punk with JBL will sway fans over to Punk if for no other reason than to see him beat JBL. Not to mention a veteran like JBL can make Punk look good. JBL may not wrestle like he used too, but he can work with just about anybody. He’ll do some heel stuff and over power Punk, but eventually Punk will catch him with that knee, and hit the GTS… Winner: CM Punk.
Akira Kagami: What the heck is this?! ANOTHER big guy for Punk to handle?! Seeing as how there’s NO WAY Batista will get heat by beating both of these guys and since JBL’s waaay heavier than he looks, Punk will fail attempting the GTS. Near the end, Layfield hits for the fences with a Clothesline from Hell, but MISSES! Punk takes him down to the mat and… ANACONDA VICE!!! WINNER BY SUBMISSION (Anaconda Vice) AND STILL WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: CM PUNK
Curtis Kash: My heart says Punk....but my head says JBL. In last month’s predictions, I correctly judged that JBL would beat Cena. Why did JBL beat Cena then..? To give him momentum for his upcoming World Title Reign (which starts at SummerSlam). I still believe Punk is just a paper champion, just a stepping stone for the title as it is passed from the top guy on Smackdown to one of the top guys on Raw....it’s time for JBL to "Take his torch back". Winner (And NEW World Champion): JBL
Mr. Indianapolis: Wow, I couldn’t care less. Punk’s reign has been worthless thus far. He won it by heel tactics, and he kept it after a run-in that had no resulting feud or pay-off. JBL might as well be a sacrificial lamb to the champ to give him some credit as a contender... but here’s the thing. Punk is a face champion in a roster of faces. JBL is about the only heel. Kane is busy with... err, something. Jericho is busy with HBK, Orton is “sidelined”... wait, isn’t that new injury supposed to be a work? Good god, is he going to come back and challenge straight for the belt? Prediction: CM Punk to retain... for credibility’s sake
Triple H vs. The Great Khali (Broken Gla…err…WWE Championship)
The Vince: This is the second year in a row that Khali has main-evented Summerslam, so please tell me why he wasn’t even important enough to make it on the Wrestlemania 24 broadcast?
There’s no way he’ll win. Taking some facts into consideration: Khali is popular in India, sure, but he doesn’t get heel heat, he gets “Go home” heat. Triple H just spawned another McMahonanite with Steph. (‘Atta boy!) SmackDown will need a good champion going into the station change; it’ll be Triple H, Edge, Undertaker…. Or UUUMAGA! I’m hoping Triple H can make this match one of the better of the night, as he seems to have that Flair-esque quality: He could wrestle a broomstick and make it look pretty good. Winner: The Game
The Philadelphia Phighter: Aww, I thought TGK (The Great Khali) would be used better than this. Didn't we already see this match, except it was called The Great Khali vs. Batista and it was for the World Heavyweight Championship? Chalk this up as another defense for Stephanie McMahon. Winner: Triple H
The Glide: Dear god, it’s a good thing we’ve got two blockbuster non-title matches, because the title matches suck here. Well, Khali’s got a huge size and power advantage, and Triple H is going to be fighting uphill to even stay alive long enough to…heh…ha ha ohhhh…sorry. Couldn’t keep that up for very long. Winner: Triple H
The White Ranger: This match almost makes me cry. I don’t have anything against Khali, but there are so many better ways they could’ve went. This match is going to be typical Khali match. He’s going to overpower Triple H throughout most of it, then Trips is going to come back and get on a roll. Wait, Khali is back in control and he slaps on the Vise Grip, but wait Triple H breaks the Vise Grip and Pedigrees Khali for the win. Basic. The only way to salvage this match would be to have the ref knocked out. After that Trips gets the sledgy and takes out Khali’s knees (heh heh, rhymes) then he clocks Khali in the head. Finally a Pedigree… Winner: Triple H
Akira Kagami: “Game Over” was what Khali (according to Ranjin) declared on Smackdown!, but we know The Game. He always has an ace up his sleeves and come Summerslam, he’ll put it to play. Don’t count Khali out since Ranjin will try to get involved but will ultimately fail. You can bet anyone’s candy ass we’re gonna see “Old Reliable” the Sledgehammer with a BAM! Right into the midsection or maybe the noggin and then, PEDIGREE for the win and the defense! WINNER BY PIN (The Pedigree) AND STILL WWE CHAMPION: TRIPLE H
Curtis Kash: A nothing match really in my view....Khali being just a random obstacle (though a very big one at that) thrown into HHH's path until he goes face to face with Taker (or Edge for that matter). As for the 3rd element R.Singh, he’s nothing more than a translator so don’t expect much from him! These two have never went 1on1 and I’m interested to see if HHH can actually put on a good match with Khali (if he manages to somehow make this ogre look good in the ring then he really is THAT DAMN GOOD) Winner (And still WWE Champion): HHH
Mr. Indianapolis: Honestly, this match is just a filler match. Trips/Khali is no more than a Hogan/Andre matchup. The only reason this match is worth watching is because it’s for a title. It really pales in comparison to the non-title matches, such as Cena/Batista and Undertaker//Edge. But the point is this: Triple H wins by Pedigree. Why? Bah. We saw the same thing happen with Cena with the same contender for the same belt. Cena tried to lift Khali in the F-U many times. Every time he failed. Until the time when he retained his belt. Brilliant. Prediction: Trips to retain.
Edge vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell)
The Vince: Call me crazy. (Many of you have.) But if The Undertaker wins this match, and he’s still STANDING afterwards, I will eat my hat, sir. Something tells me this will be the entire show. Edge will incorporate some of his tools in this match, and it’ll have some big spots. NO, No, I am not expecting a “cell fall” which I know every one of you probably hopes for each time this type of match happens. In a perfect world: Edge wins, after an incredible performance and kickass match. In a WWE world: Taker wins, after a Tombstone and 20 minutes of punishment.
The Philadelphia Phighter: I'm going to be stuck in between an Edgehead and an Undertaker fan while I watch this. I like this crazy man Edge, but we all know Undertaker is going to..no, I am once again the only one to predict Edge to win the match. WWE is going to mess with everyone's heads again and I'm going to look really smart. Winner of the Hell in a Cell Match: Edge
The Glide: Edge has finally shed the family man act, bulldozing through Mick Foley and attacking his own ex-fiancée. It is WORKING, because it is actually making me believe that he has a chance in this match. In fact, I think he at least theoretically should have more than a chance, he should have the advantage, because WWE needs an awesome heel much more than it needs Undertaker looking strong before he disappears until the Royal Rumble again. In short, WWE would be completely stupid to have The Undertaker win here. Winner: The Undertaker
The White Ranger: This is about the only match with any build to it. But that’s not what is going to make this match great. I think Edge being in Hell in a Cell is something not everyone thought of, but now that it’s out there they’re “What the hell took so long?” Edge is perfect for Hell in a Cell. Especially now that he’s back to his old sadistic self, which is the reason Edge is going to do some truly memorable things in this match. Who better to pair him with than The Undertaker. Hell in a Cell’s most decorated veteran. Taker has been through more of these than anyone else in WWE giving him a huge exp. Advantage over Cell newcomer Edge. It’s that experience combined with his ungodly vengeful mindset that is going to save him from the resource and sadistic Rated R superstar… Winner: Undertaker
Akira Kagami: The Undertaker makes his PPV return and Edge goes back to his crazy ways… To me, the outcome doesn’t matter when these two meet because WE ALL WIN! Among those who’ve gone to face the Deadman, none can compare to the effort Edge gives in both physical and emotional effort. However, if you really want my opinion, Edge will most probably suffer a loss in this one. WINNER BY PIN (Tombstone Piledriver): THE UNDERTAKER
Curtis Kash: If the previous encounters between these two are anything to go by....then this should be a cracker! The returning Deadman...will we see him get revenge....will we see the 'old' Edge etc etc...there are so many incentives to this match but the one that matters most...The World Title. And I believe that with the absence of a title, Edge loses that ounce of hunger and concentration....This is Taker’s return...on his yard...in the match he made famous...Its Revenge for The Dead One... Winner: Undertaker
Mr. Indianapolis: This is one of two big matches on the card, and could very well steal the show. Edge has proven quite innovative and versatile in gimmick matches, and he knows how to take a sick bump every now and then as well. Combined with Undertaker’s sheer experience in the Cell, this is going to be brilliant. Of course, this set-up is exactly why I wanted Edge to be defenseless leading into this match, but maybe psychopath Edge will work as well. Anyway, this is still Undertaker’s revenge match for “banning” him. And since there is no higher match on the food chain, I expect this to be the end for the feud. Hell, didn’t this start in the last Cell? Prediction: Undertaker
Thanks for checking out our preview, and you can catch Summerslam on Sunday at 8pm ET on Pay Per View or WWE.com webcast.

The one thing I see possibly happening is HHH taking some time off to attend to family matters. Khali takes the win and in the process we get a kayfabe injury to HHH. Then the question is: Who becomes the number one contender? 'Taker if he wins? Hardy if he does? Hardy HAS taken a couple of poundings from Khali in recent weeks but stood up to him and nearly won twice. If they end his program with MVP I can see this happening. Meanwhile something tells me that 'Taker and Edge isn't quite over. Perhaps even evolving since they now have a common enemy - I'm talking about you Miss Vickie "Why do I have a job in WWE?" Guerrero.

I don't know why people think so much that john cena and batista can put a good show. those two are guys who knows how to cut a promo(john cena is considered the most carismatic wrestler in these days), and are being quite innovative in last weeks.I think that champion vs. champion would work better, because this way because they don't have to determinate who would be higher in the conterdership ladder, if they end the match with cody and ted storming the ring and end up being beat it to poop by the batista and cena

I'm mostly in agreement with all of you, execpt the Edge and Taker match.
Yes, I know with all his current build up, it'd be almost stupid for the Taker to win (and I love the Taker and hate Edge). Edge has put up alot of momentum in a short time since the announcement of this match (strange since we were rapidly getting sick of him).
BUT, you have to remember: The WWE loves to push returners. Look at Edge and Chavo after their suspension ended and they came back, almost instantly, they held titles. Or way back, when Cena came back, he won the Royal Rumble. And in a minor set, Khali has come back, and he's suddenly Number 1 contender for the WWE Title. Now while I'm not sure if that's going to be enough to give Khali a title (only possible if theres trouble at home with the baby, of which no one has heard anything, so Triple H likely will retain), but fans basically want to see the Undertaker back... and they want to see him get revenge. People will pay to see that, and I'm sure that's what they will get.

what i think is going to happen: -Shawn stays in WWE -Kofi and Mickie retain -Jeff Hardy beats MVP to a pulp -Cena gets beat up most of the match but comes back ftw -Mark Henry makes Hardy part of the mat with a Worlds Strongest Slam -CM Punk pulls out with a victory -Edge has shown that he is going to do anything to win this match, and i think that's exactly what he's going to do

some of my predictions -Shawn with out a doubt stays in the WWE(the whole doctor thing is just to add suspense) of course a possible interruption by Jericho, or the suprise return of Vince McMahon
-Unless Kofi or Mickie can take out Beth Phoenix-New Champs= Santino and Beth...but 4 how long...(Santino would probably lose his belt by Monday)
-Jeff Hardy beats MVP(either count out or pin)=and Mvp makes up some excuse talks some trash about hardy and reignites the feud
-Cena vs. Batista-good match not enough hype though John Cena being the more Charismatic would probably have more of the kids favor, but if we go back to when they became tag champs Batista showed us how quikly he can build momentum..John Cena could pull of the STFU, but the last time i checked Batista has never tapped out, so he may power out some how...build some serious momentum, and maybe when both of these powerhouses get frustrated and worn out the New Tag Champs Priceless for not being on summerslam and slamming them against the step laddercan interfere in the match giving both Cena and Batista a good beating before Batista and Cena turn the tables...
-Hard one to chose between Mark(the worlds strongest man) and Matt(with the resilience from hell)Ultimatly the winner is Matt when Tony Atlas attempts to hit matt with the belt and takes out Mark instead,(Matt being the swifter)a pair of twist of fates and the winner and new Champ Matt Hardy
-CM Punk v JBL Not to amped out about, Punk retains, Y2J could interfere with the match if its Vince who interrupts HBK
-Edge vs. The Undertaker-Neither have recently had a match except for Edge in the Saturday Night PPV. The Undertaker and Edge punish each other to a living hell, Edge Spears The Undertaker looks like he may win, then La Familia get their hands on Edge( alittle bit of payback later...Chavo returns the Con co Chair) Undertaker gets up the rest of La Familia leaves leaving a devastated Edge in the cell. Edge put up a small fight only to get punished more by the Deadman, at last mercifully like about 20 mins of domination Edge get hit by a tombstone pile-driver(a match that could cost Edge his career) and the winner is the Undertaker...who knows he could even make Edge famous with a little bit of Foley's help.....A match that could have a lot of sweet sweet vengeance...

none of these matches will come anywhere CLOSE to what I consider to be the match of the year so far and that was Styles vs Angle at Hard Justice. If you haven't seen it, then shame on you and see if anybody has it on the web. One HELL of a LMS match. Maybe the hell in a cell match can come close but the rest of the card seems pretty sucky. Personally dont care who wins what or how. Oh and if Khali DOES win the title then I think that I won't bother watching WWE programming until no good wrestlers like him and Henry are gone too the unemployment line where they belong unlike half of the guys and gals they have released recently.

I got to say I don't feel the love for WWE from The Glide. Saying WWE would be stupid to have undertaker win and then predicting undertaker winning. That's just mean! ( ok - I admit it, I thought the comment was great albeit mean.

oh by the way my own silly prediction... if batista wins against cena, then cm punk wins against jbl and vice versa, since batista could turn heel for punk, while jbl/cena will be smackdown replay

edge will beat taker, because his gimmick is based upon getting cheap wins even when the cards are on the table and he's got nothing. For undertaker to win is too obvious as this is realisticaly his speciality, hell in a cell! Considering Edge is in the ring I predict some sort of twist, such as a new partnership, or a new feud for the undertaker to take?
JBL hopefully will beat punk, JBL is a good heel purely because he has a habbit of being an unworthy champion. It would be a good boost for punk to lose the title and then constantly try (and probly fail) to try and get it back on numerous occasions. By that I mean have lots of wins leading up to the pay-per-view, and then lose by a cheap shot or something.
I also am going to predict a Cena win, but this will be the best match of the pay-per-view, with both using each others finishers and getting out of the pins, and cena doing what WWE make him do week in week out, a barrage of take downs, 5 knuckle shuffle, go for the FU, miss the FU, get the STFU and finaly win. I hope batista at some point hits an FU on Cena, just to add insult before losing

I think Undertaker will take it too far and Edge will win by a quick roll up, but Edge will end up like Mick Foley. Winner: Edge

I think as a joke match they should have had "Big Drippy" vs. "Great Crappy" in a "Who Smells Worse" match.
Side note: The verification code for this post was "HEAD" so I'm predicting that Al Snow will make a SummerSlam appearance!!

Well, damn. I nailed the last three, but I was one-half for four on the others, including Henry retaining but not winning.
I don't know about Santino as IC champ, but I will say that, as hinted in my prediction, putting MVP over was a move I am very happy about even if I didn't expect it.
