AJ Styles On His Finisher Being Used

Recently, IGN.com conducted an interview with TNA Star AJ Styles, and one of the topics of conversation was about Michelle McCool using his finisher the Styles Clash. Besides that, he also spoke a bit on John Morrison. Here is what he said:

"The fact of the matter is this. People know it. That's the Styles Clash. That's my move. I came up with it on my own. It's okay. I understand, you gotta come up with something and there's not a lot of moves in the world. It's hard to be different. But it's cool with me. Now it would be different if it was a guy in my own company. But there is that one dud. What's his name? I'm like, good grief, this guy does everyone else's move and hasn't come up with one. He's a heck of an athlete. Morrison. Yeah, I've seen him do a lot of Low Ki's moves. He does my Spiral Tap. I was like, 'Man, this guy watches a lot of tape.' But he does them well, so I can't say anything bad about him. He does them well. He's heck of an athlete."

lol AJ Styles didn't innovate the Styles Clash. And come on, let's face it, of course people are gonna do the same moves as people, but that's how the business is.

I love Styles, but the implication that you have to innovate a move to be a great wrestler is just silly. He gets brownie points for inventing the Clash, but that's about it.

These days, the wrestlers are simply too busy to just up and create a finisher for themselves. And the idea of bagging on Morrison just because he uses some other [out of company] guy's moves in his arsenal is ridiculous. As if Styles was the inventor of kicking somebody in the head! He's a bit full of himself. That's all it boils down to.

I think some of you are getting a bit too zealous about this. Styles ripped on Morrison, yes, but at the same time, he admits that Morrison is atleast good enough to do these moves. I mean the spiral tap is a difficult move to pull off. And yes, to be an innovator in wrestling, do something thats different, the Pele may not be an AJ Styles Original, but not many people see it outside Aj doing it. And alot of people like the clash, the way the person has to land, the moment on anticipation for the second leg to lock against the shoulder (alot can go wrong) its like the stall between the kick and the stunner, or the staredown before the chokeslam. Its a good move.
