Kurt Angle did an interview with TAGG radio, which is nothing unusual. Which may be a bit unusual for Angle is that he for the first time admits that he is not ready for MMA. He says he always wanted to be in MMA, from the moment he won gold in the 1996 Olympics. He has been offered a deal with MMA, just like he's been offered a deal with UFC which appears to be a "seven number deal". Angle says he's in shape, but not in fighting shape to step into the footsteps of Brock Lesnar and go to MMA or UFC.
He will try his hand at submission wrestling however (which is basically MMA without the strikes) against Randy Couture (UFC heavyweight champion). A lot of people already count him out, and he doesn't blame them, but like he says "Never count out an olympic gold medalist".
About his UFC contract proposal he says it was a really sweet deal. A contract for a longer period, which didn't involve that many fights, a lot of money. The downside was they wanted to own the rights to Angle, the name and the person. Angle will try his hands later this year on Couture, but for now on, don't expect to see him in MMA/UFC any time soon.

If Kurt Angle can fight in MMA/UFC, that would be like TRENCHFIGHTING back in WW1 being used in Modern Warfare....Hes an outdated fossil.

Nice to hear him be sensible and self-measured about it, instead of charging in unprepared. For the above comment: If Kurt Angle can fight in MMA/UFC, then how on earth do you know what he will be like? He's not going to do the olympic slam, in case you didn't realise that! You can't judge anything in a combat sport (MMA) from a character in a performance sport (Pro Wrestling). It's a completely different thing altogether.

I have to agree with Jane Ross. It's nice to see he can actually admit he's in good/decent shape, but that the MMA training currently is a bit too high for him. And even though he's been in "staged fights" for the last years, I don't think you can just assume he can't wrestle "for real" anymore, after all, winning an Olympic gold medal is like the highest achievement an amateur wrestler can get. He must have some instincts left in him.
