It's been reported that Kurt Angle was very critical while talking about TNA talents and creative team during a recent interview.
According to Angle, he has a completely different idea on how to put a TV show like iMPACT!. The 8-time World Champion says that he prefers clear matches with faces wrestling heels. He states that the way TNA matches are shown, it's not quite clear who's face and who's heel. Angle said that a good wrestler is the one who can tell a story within a wrestling match, not the one who hit the most dangerous high-flying moves. In connection with this, Angle criticizes the X-Division by saying that they are able to perform dangerous spots but unable to tell the crowd a story inside the ring.

NOTES: I didn't find the report on any English-speaking site (wrestlingdom.com is in Spanish), that's why I avoided putting quotations.
A couple of weeks ago, during an interview for Between the Ropes, Scotty Too Hotty also noticed the lack of people willing to act like heels during their matches at TNA

Well yeah, TNA attempted to capitalize on the demand for a more Attitude Era-ish system without the emphasis on faces and heels, but it just didnt't work out for them. They've fixed it up in recent months alot, but best of all they've allowed the main guys to continue with the tweener style, so only the mid-card, where this change is needed is being affected. Apparently this is working very well for em ratings-wise.

honestly, i only watch tna's ppvs, not the weekly shows. based on the little i've seen, i must agree with angle in the sense that the basic heel behaviour in a match (get crowd heat, act cowardly, sell the face's moves as painful, etc) is not so clear

did he really said that? because when he jumped ships from wwe to tna he quickly said how great was the x division and it was the best in wrestling bussiness, also he stated he liked more in ring action than gimmicks so its weird :P

Kurt, get outta there and save yourself, go back to WWE and save us from the PG rating!
Or even better... FIRE RUSSO!

Actually I think Russo is the only thing from keeping TNA to turn into WWE. I really dislike Russo, but he keeps TNA Russo-style not WWE-Style __ Also on Angle; Can that man decide on his opinion? One day he is like blarh, the next like darh and then warh.

Ignoring for a moment the way Angle has said one thing one day and another thing another... just taking this for what it is... I kinda think he's got a point. Especially on this new "nation of violence" Samoa Joe. He holds a knife against Steiner's neck twice now, and we're meant to be cheering for him? Seriously? He's the good guy still with that kind of stunt? I know it's obviously fake but that's not really the point is it. Tacks and glass and whatever is dodgy enough but it works because Abyss is meant to be a total nutcase in the first place. Joe's meant to be out for righteous revenge... that doesn't fit his actions at all. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and see where they're going with all this "everybody's out of control" stuff, but... it is starting to look a bit desperate. I'm begging for somebody to come in and take a real face role by laying down the law and taking no crap... and not LETTING people get out of control. The suspension of disbelief in pro wrestling whereby everybody wants to hold a belt that if they were really that crazy they'd just steal a bunch of money instead and not bother... that thing where everyone cares about being considered the best wrestler in one way or another... it's not invincible... it can be broken. If you do go too far and break it it just ruins the fun and you stop watching. I don't think they're near THAT point yet, although I am a fan so I wouldn't be surprised if some other people did think that.
