The series finale of The Shield this week had a story based loosely on the tragic last hours of Chris Benoit's life. The rest of the article will contain spoilers of the final episode, so don't continue reading if you still haven't seen the episode and want to.
Detective Shane Vendrell, has worked himself in quite some trouble, and only sees one way out, that is to kill himself and his family. He decides to kill his wife and son with painkillers placed in their drinks. He puts them on the bed with flowers and a toy, and then kills himself. The way the bodies were placed, with the hands peacefully on the chest, is taken from the real life murder-suicide incident. Now, this might seem like a farfetched theory but the creator of the show said that the original script was to get Vendrell caught, but he told the writers to adjust the script so it would ressemble the Benoit case.

I also think this is messed up, using a trajedy as a way to make money.
I also think Benoit didn't perform a double murder suicide.
3 reasons
1. No suicide note was found
2. When a crime is commited any good detective would ask who benefits? Benoit died, his family died, he goes down in history as a murderer, and wwe hates him. Benoit gained 0 benefit from this trajedy, so why would he do it?
3. The police barley investigated the case, the double murder suicide was declared 4 days after the investigation. If 3 people are found dead in a house, it takes more than 4 days to fnd out what happened

I think we all have theories on the Benoit story, however, I think in some cases, they should let things rest.
Personally, in the end, I hope him and the family is resting in peace.

Well, some people call it sick, but the truth is that many movies/series base themselves on real murder cases, sometimes too cruel to believe. It's just the first time someone bases their story around the Benoit case.

This isn't news, it's wild speculation. Every murder/suicide story isn't related to Benoit.

Neither do I like the idea of using Benoits tragedy for a way to make money. But then again it is true a lot of shows do this. Infact Law and Order is planning on doing a episode based on Heath Ledgers death.

LOL @ Benoitfan's post. Wake up man, Benoit was a damaged man at that point in his life.
