Big Name Parts Ways with WWE

According to the source, WWE announcer Tazz is done with the WWE. His final show on commentary was taped last night and will air Friday. There are a few rumored reasons for his departure. One is that his contract expires today and will not be renewed. Others say that he had asked for his release a while ago and was finally granted it. It is unknown if either of these are true.

That's quite a surprise. I wonder who will replace him? I liked Tazz.

We also could see a return from JBL. If it is true that he'll retire after WM, it'll more than likely be him.

Yep, that sounds like there's a spot back there for JBL. Shame though, Tazz and Striker are probably on a par

Shame I liked Tazz as a commentator although I feel that Jim Ross and he hadn't gelled totally as a commentary team but were getting there. Maybe they'll move Jim back to Raw with King, transfer Cole to ECW and let Striker's partner move to Smackdown. Then again this IS WWE we are talking about...

I've got to admit, I was pretty pissed when they wasted two draft picks last year on announcers moving. But, I'm afraid it's gonna happen again. I just have a feeling.

Tazz was good. But if you look back in the hey-day...so was Vince MacMahon himself. This just gives someone else a chance to rise up and try to make a name for him/her-self. Personally, I'd love to hear/see Trish Stratus be the commentator (or is that commentatorette?), but that's just me.

Hmm...there go my plans to get rid of Cole and replace him with Striker and Striker with Matthews. Hopefully JBL joins commentary to patch things up.

Tazz wasn't the best announcer WWE had, but he certainly did a fine job throughout his run.

Let's face it, the WWE will never have two good announcers sitting at the table ever again, unless they bring back Heenan and Monsoon. That would take quite a lot of work though, considering Monsoon is dead. :|

sucks for him that he won't be getting the Wrestlemania cut that everyone gets.

I will agree with you Creed. The best announcing combo was definitely Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and "Gorilla" Monsoon. Heenan also made one of the best PSAs I've ever seen: He was infront of the camera and talked about people shouldn't drink and drive. He said, "If you drink, don't drive. If you must drink, then call a cab. Better yet...walk!" To me, the delivery was simply classic "The Brain" style, and it made the commercial simply funny as hell. Ahhhh...the 1980s.

a good commentator team needs chemistry thats why ross should of stayed with king.. and if i remember right the only time Cole had good chemistry for a good team was with tazz.. now i think cole with be next to be fired...

"Good evening and welcome everybody. I'm Gorilla Monsoon alongside Bobby The Brain Heenan and..." I remember that various people had extended stints alongside them including Rowdy Roddy Piper, Mr Perfect and Macho Man Randy Savage.

I think that Tazz leaving opens the slot for JBL if he retires from the ring at Wrestlemania as many people have speculated. As he's friends with Vince, I'm not sure Vince would scream in his ear to the extent he does with some others.
