Bret Hart involved in strange verbal incident

Bret Hart was a guest at a Hall of Fame dinner in Waterloo, IA. He was there representing his deceased father, Stu Hart. Greg Oliver, reporter of Slam! Wrestling was also there to accept the Jim Melby Memorial Award for wrestling journalism. At one point of the meeting, "Hitman" threatened to leave if Oliver didn't. Steve Anderson, Oliver's partner, who was there to receive the same prize, did leave in order to avoid any further altercation. Later, during Bret's speech, he picked on Oliver saying that "one of us doesn't deserve to be here." Hart, along with some other wrestlers, ended up leaving the meeting.

Apparently, Bret doesn't get along with Greg Oliver because the later ranked Hart 14th in his "greatest Canadian wrestlers" list on his book "Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Canadians." On the same book, Oliver states: "Hart can hardly claim to be the best ever."

   I hope some other writer ranks Bret 15th. Not because there necessarily are 14 better wrestlers, just for this attitude of his.

   I am and always have been a huge fan of Bret Hart, he is more like to 5th greatest Canadian wrestler than 14th but to whine over 1 mans opinion makes him a little cry baby.

   I was in attendance for this HOF Induction this past weekend. All I can say is if I had any, I have lost all respect for Bret Hart! What he did was uncalled for and very unprofessional!!! He had no right to put everyone in the situation that he created. He actually called Greg a liar and that was wrong. I hope he is never asked to come back again! By the way, there were no wrestlers that left with Bret!

   Well yeah, I concur. When you get all up yourself for somebody else having an opinion of you - not even a nasty opinion, he didn't even have to put Bret in a top list in ANY position if he didn't want to! Then it's time to turn around and stop and look at yourself and say to yourself "hang on, this is a bit silly".
