This week's episode of ECW, which saw the much-anticipated return of Captain Charisma, Christian, was marred by a ratings drop from last week's 1.4 to 1.3. It remains to be seen if next week's ratings increase now that more people are aware of Christian's return.
Many are criticising the lack of hype for Christian's return, and with the drop in ratings, it does appear they might have a point.

What a let down. I was thinking we would see a far bigger impact with the return of Christian since he seemed to have gained a bigger following in TNA. I would have liked to see a bit of a tag team mix up - had him team up with Jeff Hardy and feud with Edge & Matt Hardy maybe....anything but this - he deserves better.

At least Vince doesn't hold a grudge. Oh wait, that's what gets him out of bed each morning.

and they give him ecw... Man if he came back on Raw, or even smackdown, but ECW?

It didn't need to be hyped. Christian sucked 10 years ago and still sucks now.

i think there going to give him a title run soon, proberly after no way out, he will win against the champ and hold it for a few months then go to smackdown when they are ready.

Hyped? How many fanboys were running around like chickens with their heads cut off hyping it?

well sometimes fans want to be surprised. and when the surprise happens, they label it as "no hype".
it is difficult to keep a wrestling storyline under wraps, and christian's debut was very well kept.

are you guys really wrestling fans? This was the worst kept Secret next to Chris Jericho's return. Everyone knew it would happen. I thought WWE did a fantastic job bringing christian back in because of their 'no hype'
It gave the people who watch wrestling and wwe programming each week a chance to be rewarded for their loyality. Great job Vince

There was nothing wrong with the way they did it. The important thing is whether they use him right now that he's here, and having a series of matches with Swagger and Finlay works great for me.

Yeah being stuck on ecw is not the worst that could have happened. He could have signed back with tna which woulda been worse

Come on ppl have you forgotten that during his last WWE stint he was a mid-carder with a occasional mainevent match? Just because TNA gave him a championship doesn't mean he's any better now. So i'm really not surprised at his placement on ECW. Who knows maybe he's going to be used as the one who retires Tommy Dreamer

i thought it was smart and a great disicion by vince.
we all knew he was returning we didnt know when. thats why he got such a huge pop because no one expected it or saw it comeing.
i do have to question the dicision of putting him on ecw though, but because of that theres gonna be a draft in april which could see christian going to ither raw or smackdown.

Did anyone hear any TNA chants when Christian returned?? Seriously I thought I heard like a small section of the crowd chanting while most of the crowd was chanting "Christian".
