Club Fight: Flair and Orlando Jordan's Companion

Orlando Jordan continued with his storyline; that of coming out with a female and male companion (as he is a bi-sexual in real life). This is not being welcomed by the TMA iMPACT! backstage and in fact brought a very negative environment after the show.

Ric Flair was one of those who argued against this segment.

After the show, a number of TNA iMPACT! wrestlers and personnel went to a bar. One of those present in the bar was Jordan's companion and Flair began complaining about the way in which the man was dancing on the dance floor. Flair also told him that there's no place for him in the locker room.

Flair continued the argument and angrily approached the male companion and created a scene.

A wrestler who was an eye-witness said Flair "cut a Ric Flair promo on him" and told him he's "an embarrassment" and demanded that he "sit the f--- down."

The male companion was said to be shaken by the comments and left the bar shortly after.

The gimmick is getting alot of advertisement on gay and lesbian websites but is being opposed by alot in backstage.

Not really a gimmick... Orlando is openly bi-sexual

There is nothing wrong with Flair's actions. Look for Thunder Arena (learned about from s3 ads.) I don't think TNA should take that route.

I don't think TNA was going to go that far. Anyone remember Billy & Chuck? I realize most of you are blatent homophobes, but it's a reality. Having a wrestler or two express it in their gimmick shouldn't be something you shun just because deep down you wonder about your own sexuality.

I simple do not like flair, he betrayed a perfect retirement to wrestle for a crappy show.

Personally I don't get why people get so worked up. I guess it's mostly the conservative Americans. - To be honest, who the buck cares if the dude is into men, women or sheep? It's his own choice... In my own opinion, I just think it's great that TNA is appealing to this part of the market.

I think it's an interesting choice for TNA to use this part of his life as a storyline and while I have no problem with it. The way it came off on screen made it look bad though. While Orlando was being lowered it seemed as if he was more worried about the rig failing as he kept looking at the ceiling as he was coming to the ring. Added to that, I think putting that segment on in the impact zone, was the wrong audience to do that with as your dealing with a theme park audience (mostly).

Kudos to Ric Flair for being opposed to this. This is obviously a controversial issue, which TNA really can afford to handle at the moment, bringing in only a .6 rating and all. Of course maybe I'm only seeing it like this becuase I'm personally against homosexuality (btw this doesn't mean I'm a "homophobe" for you ignorant people who nonchalantly use the term).

Comment 24# - Isn't Orlando a face / fan favourite? That's my impression. I might be wrong though. They're not wanting heat but they want some homosexual/bisexual fans.

Gotta watch out for them queer wrestlers. They'll try to tap you anyway they can. Like a rattle snake jumping up and biting ya on the ass! Not that I know from experience or anything.
