It's been reported that 2-time World Champion Christian Cage declined a five-year deal that TNA was offering him to stay in the company. Apparently, Christian revealed the details to one of his close friends, and the deal was worth $2.5 million, and in case he accepted, he would have had to wrestle only for a certain number of dates per year.
TNA officials have stated that this information is not true, and that if they had made such an offer, Cage would have jumped at it.
Christian is reported to have told Dixie Carter he was leaving TNA mainly because of his lack of faith on the creative team.

I wouldn't say that WWE has the best creative team either. WWE has lasting power over TNA right now. They've been through tough times before.

It was already reported that Christian was supposedly offered a spot as TNA's top face if he stayed along. TNA's creative team would've probably been able to pull that off with their apparent experimental "one week at a time" style. However, we're gonna have to remember these reports are unsubstantiated.

$2.5 million is only $500,000 per year which isn't very much considering it's USD and he would have to pay his own expenses.

I doubt if WWE is paying much more than that.HHH is one of the higher paid guys and he get's less than 3 million/yr.

Hell $500,000 yearly salary is a lot especially if thats how much TNA is paying you.

Given some of the nonsense that even I as quite a fan of TNA have to admit has been ruining the program a bit of recent, I'd say he didn't make a bad bet this time around. His return to WWE has been damn good so far and I really can't see what TNA would've been doing with him at the moment. I'm confident TNA will recover creatively, I'm just kinda praying it doesn't take too long. And yeah WWE have their horrible moments, certainly. But they seem on top at the moment, in comparison. They do have a bit more of that "we'll carry on regardless" factor to them than TNA, I think.
