ECW To Be "Re-Branded".

With the recent and strong ECW, and Raw Ratings, with Smackdown tailing along, WWE's Marketing VP Kevin Dunn has been quoted by Variety.com that WWE officials and the Sci Fi Network are working closely to come up with a re branding program for the weekly episodes of ECW.

WWE also has a new "Superstars" Program coming out in April which will premier on WGN.

   Dreamer should win the ECW belt then retire with it. ECW will then be re-branded with a new name. New belt and new style because we all know this current version isn't ECW.

   I wonder if the pg rating idea came forth after they brought ECW back up, or was this the plan all along and the name ECW was just to net that extra big demographic right off the bat and ensure that an idea like this would have a better chance of surviving? Either way, at least it's moving forward and not insulting original ECW fans anymore.

   Rebranding. Read: Vince is going to pilfer anything good out of it to make it a clear C show...since anything thought up by someone else cannot compete with Smackdown...something created by WWE.

   The channels don't matter to me since I get USA, SciFI and My Network. I just wish they'd come up with better writing and matches.

   What do they mean by rebrand? What they should do is make it the more PG-13 at least rated show so we can watch some matches that are worth my Tuesday night dare I watch any other show on that night. Let the guys who designed the spinner belt make an even better one.
