MMA organization ProElite (parent company of EliteXC) will be closing its doors on Friday. It is said that during the 2 years the company was in business they lost an estimated $60 million. Many feel that despite the TV contract they had with CBS it was only a matter of time before they were out of business. ProElite tried to take market share away from UFC by building an MMA organization by buying up smaller MMA organizations. The final nail in the ProElite coffin came from Seth Petruzelli, the fighter who filled in for Ken Shamrock last second when he was unable to compete against Kimbo Slice on their EliteXC CBS show last month. A few days after Petruzelli upset Kimbo by beating him in 14 seconds, Petruzelli said he was offered more money by EliteXC to keep the fight with Kimbo a stand up battle (which would obviously favor Kimbo). The group that oversees the Florida State Boxing Commission, The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation is currently investigating his claim.

A jab? A jab!?! That was so weak. Kimbo was known as the guy who blew up another man's eye socket and... that guy kept fighting!! Maybe it was Kimbo who took a dive. They must have tripled his payout to get on all 4s and lose to a series of rabbit punches.

Kimbo was all hype that took on dock workers and such, not real fighters as he tried to claim he was.
