The first review of Mr. Kennedy's debut in the moving pictures turns out to be a real slap into the face of Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy is supposed to be the main star of "Behind enemy lines: Columbia".
The purpose was to launch Kennedy as a movie star, he's on the cover of the DVD, yet he is not the main actor in this movie. The focal point of the movie is Joe Mangeniello (One Tree Hill, ER, How I met your Mother,...). It seems that WWE has absolutely no confidence in Kennedy, that's how little he apparantly is seen in the movie.
The dialogues in the movie are not exactly A-class material. Kennedy for example is introduced with the rather weird phrase "He bench pressed his first Civic when he was 15", which left the reviewer wondering what that was all about. As bad as Mangeniello's dialogue may be, it doesn't compare to Kennedy's. He gets nothing but short lines that make him look stupid.
The entire movie script makes you believe this was a missing script in the A-team-series. The entire story is completely outdated and very cliché. Marines are dropped off for a secret mission in Columbia and have to make the run.
Kennedy comes across as if he feels very uncomfortable with the entire role seeing how he's not the focal point. WWE tries to make you believe he is the star of the movie, yet Mangienello probably got more showertime than Kennedy had camera time. It will make Kennedy look like 2nd rate to the casual fan.
The reviewer's conclusion:
If you're a Kennedy fan, you're gonna be dissapointed.
If you're a fan of action movies, you're gonna be dissapointed.
If you're a WWE stockholder, you're gonna cry of dissapointment, seeing how this entire movie will probably be a complete waste of money.

I knew it, from the very first time i heard about this movie it looked like it would suck. WWE will probably consider some more budget cuts in the future.

Simply put, the WWE needs to realize that their own sponsorship of movies is doomed to result in LOUSY movies. Now, I haven't seen Cena's film yet (yes, I know, I must be the only one), but I saw Cane's and SC Steve Austin's movies, respectively. While Austin's wasn't bad, it was about as far removed from good as it could get. Cane's COULD have been good, but bad acting and horrible script writing stopped that from happening. Funny, how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson avoided these WWE scripts like the plague and simply allowed true and established Hollywood writers, directors, and producers to create scripts for him. I mean, what movie to date is better than The Rock in the movie The Rundown??? In the mean time, Mr. Kennedy, we feel for ya.

Not to sound cynical about this, but I find hilarious that a straight to DVD second sequel of a film series almost no one has heard about could at some point be expected to be a decent movie. Hell, bad acting, crappy script and cheesy dialogue is run of the mill in this kind of titles.
As Koj Tije Dedo said, the WWE label on a film isn't exactly a quality seal, so the OP's offended tone is somehow undeserved, and if someone in WWE's management ever thought it was a good vehicle to promote a wrestler as a legitimate actor, they need to get their head checked.

What did you expect? The trailer looks like the Saturday Afternoon Movie on Channel 36. I can't believe this, or the last one, can even use the name Behind Enemy Lines since the one with Owen Wilson kicked a lot of ass. Marine is not horrible. Great? No but I wouldn't say horrible.

Sounds like we're all generally agreed: unless the WWE is promoting a DVD containing actual WWE matches (like say WrestleMania 24 or something like that), there is NO reason for WWE to try to expand into film making. They simply don't have the budget let alone brains to make a true film. What's sad is I honestly think that most people could make BETTER films given the same scripts, or (better yet) could have written better scripts given the same budget. That's what's really sad.

A cynic might say that the WWE are putting their top stars into movies to kill any possibility of that star being able to ever make a career move to Hollywood. If The Rock had ended up in a WWE film he probably would never have made it in the movie industry and would still be stuck in WWE.

I don't think the problem is that the movie is that bad, it's just a B-action movie. Personally, I'm a fan of the genre, I love things that are so bad they become good, B-horror movies taking #1 spot. The problem is that Kennedy is just a side character in this movie. I mean, "The Marine" probably also is just a B-action movie, very predictable, lame dialogues, but at least it served its function, have Cena as a star. If WWE is gonna sponsor a movie, they should request more time in it for their stars.

most admit these WWE movie don't show much skills fromt he director and the scriptwriters. Bad script tolerable movie example is Robocop more impromptu line delivery saved the script writers. I can quote a few one liners form Condemmed or the Marine but nothing that anybody over the age of 13 would find entertaining.
