Former WWE Tag Team Champion Returning?

According to the source, it is being reported that former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Mercury may return to the company in the near future.
Mercury held the tag team titles with John Morrison, who was then known as Johnny Nitro, and their valet Melina who were known as a unit as MNM.
Mercury is widely recognised as the wrestler who got his faced busted open by the Hardy Boys at Armageddon 2006 by a Ladder which took 20 stitches to repair and he lost 30% of the vision in his left eye.
Mercury was released from his WWE contract back in March 2007.

More dead weight... They won't know how to use him, John Morrison has gone his own way. Best they could do is a storyline/rivalry between the two.

I like this news. I've enjoyed his wrestling for a while.
Before he was Joey Mercury he was known as "The Future" Joey Matthews. He tag teamed with Christian York in (pre-WWE) ECW and was awesome there. He has promise, as long as someone doesn't try to take out his eye again.

Ouch @ his injury. That really sucks. I meant the injury. Not the comeback.

I love watching the clip of his injury. I enjoy showing it to people who say that wrestlers never get hurt

That's probably one good reason for Vince McMahon making WWE PG. The injury that is. But then again, you can't justify something so stupid with one incident.

WWE is gettin desperate, TNA is on the verge of greatness I can feel it!Even wwe legends are jumpin ship. Mercury should try his luck in TNA where tagteams do matter!Lots of potential partners for him.

How can resigning Mercury be desperate. He's a great talent to have. TNA is stupid that they didn't sign him instead of Val Venis just to name someone. Just hope that this time the rumours are true, he said he was returning on several occasions but this still hasn't happened

Heard Rumors he's joining CM Punk's Faction, after being 'saved' by Punk from his additction to pain killers. It does make sense since he was actually addicted and thats what got him released initially.

@ Comment 13: If this were to happen I could see a rivalry between the society and Morrison. Maybe Morrison could tag with Truth to go against them. I would have added Hardy into the mix but last I watched Smackdown he wasn't doing much :/

TNA on the verge of greatness? Might be possible... in Bizzaro World. But with Hogan and Bishoff calling the shots. The only thing TNA is on the verge of is being bought by the WWE when those two run it out of business.

@ COMMENT #10 TNA WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS BY THE TIME 2011 COMES AROUND BECAUSE THEY NEED 6 SIDES NOT 4 SIDES AND THE FANS WILL COME BACK TO WWE AND THAT IS WHERE MOST OF THE GUYS IN TNA STRATED

TNA can thrive as long as they stop backing wrestlers who can't offer the company anything. Venis can't do anything for them. Neither can the Nasty Boys. Hogan, as much as I hate to admit it, can be great for TNA...or he could be bad. TNA needs to hire and push wrestlers with talent, such as Mathews.
