IGN.com, one of the leading websites on games, has just reviewed TNA Impact. The game scored a rather dissapointing 6.4/10 as an overall score. Below are some highlights from the review.
The positive
*The control scheme is solid
*The Ultimate X is a fun match.
The negative
*The game is shallow, it won't take you long to see everything it has to offer
*There is an announce table, there are announcer's voices (although repetitive), but you cannot see any announcers.
*You cannot show up with a belt around your waist or defend it, since there aren't any belts around to defend, although they are mentioned in the story mode
*Opponents never stay down long enough
*You do not sell limb damage
*Lackluster CAW
*Limited and repetitive moves
*Chairs are just sitting there around the ring
*There are no rope breaks
*Every match is no count out and no DQ
Overall, the worst part of the negative points can be summed up as that the entire game just doesn't feel like a real wrestling game. IGN overall feels that TNA has hyped it up a lot, made everyone sit with high expectations, and then they cannot follow through.

SVR 2009 puts up a better game this year no doubt. Watch all the trailers and you'll see

SvR is what version? It has been around for how long? This is TNA's first attempt at a game, so expect it to not be as grand as SvR is these days....it has come along was since the first WWF(E) game.

I blame Midway completely. They closed down the studio that was working on the game a few months before it was finished. TNA went to all the trouble of having their guys motion-capture 2,000 moves, then Midway doesn't even put them in the game...the problem with this game is not that its not a wrestling game, its that its not a finished game. Midway went cheap at the end. By the way, the review also praised the graphics, but I'm not buying the game now. I'd been looking forward to it for a year...
