Japanese Wrestling Legend Dies In-Ring
Japanese wrestling legend and NOAH founder Mitsuharu Misawa has died age 46.
Misawa was wrestling in a Tag team match for the titles with Go Shiozaki against Akitoshi Saito and Bison Smith at the Hiroshima Green Arena. Misawa took what was said to be an ordinary back suplex when his heart gave out, causing him to have a heart attack.
Medics tried to revive him in the ring to no avail, he was then rushed to hospital but announced dead at 10:10 pm JST (9:10am EDT). People are unsure if he died in the ring or later in the hospital. Misawa would have been 47 next Thursday.
