In Johnstown, Pennsylvania a local newspaper published an interview given by Jeff Jarrett aiming to promote TNA's live event planned to be held on the 14th of January in the same state.
Jarrett spoke alot about how TNA Wrestling can compete with WWE.
"They [WWE] are sports entertainment; we are professional wrestling," Jarret said. "Our in-ring product takes priority over other facets of the business."
"The product that has drawn millions and millions of fans over the years, going back to the '60s, is professional wrestling ... (TNA) is fresh and modern, but it is in the essence of what has always been done."
Jarrett realises that to build a successful professional wrestling company takes alot of time but thinks that TNA is going an extra step to make sure the fans are satisfied; "We recognize the fact that we've got to earn our fans one at a time," Jarrett said. "I have been a part of wrestling my entire life, but I've never seen this kind of excitement generated by the backstage access, the autograph sessions, and the opportunities to get up close and personal with the TNA stars at the merchandise table."
Jarrett also spoke on TNA's head-to-head competition with WWE on the 4th of January and explained this as the first step to a true competition with WWE; "Things are getting bigger and better. With the addition of Hulk Hogan, skies are very blue for TNA. Are we going to come right out of the gate and beat them? Are we claiming that? Absolutely not," he said. "But we're in the game, and competition is good. We are very optimistic that by the end of 2010, it'll be a different game."

I like Jarrett, I like TNA. It'll be sad if they get on Vince's radar so much that he decides to crush them.

I like Jarrett, and I want to like TNA, problem is their product has been going downhill in the past year or so. They want to be pro wrestling again, and I admit, they used to pull that off, they need to cut back on the stuff they have been doing and go back to basics. They are heading in the wrong direction and they wish to compete against the WWE, its not going to be the begining of the monday night wars, its going to be last few weeks of the monday night wars. TNA needs to up their game before they bring it to WWE's home turf.

I agree WWE has become a popularity contest, And a talk show not saying TNA doesn't do a lot of off ring angles I'm just saying the writing is better. Wwe spread themselves out to thin while TNA only has one show plus the wrestlers are hungry WWE is used to be the top dog but when your at the top your hungry but not really hungry to be the best because you already are. And I hate to say it but this is what will happen in comparison And by the way I love both shows I want to see them both do great but for college football fans this is how it was Nevada v.s SMU I believe SMU is TNA and WWE is Nevada wwe is use to getting the ratings while really no one really gave TNA or SMU a shot to win due to inexperience and program history. But like they always say thats why they compete throw the records out the window. If wwe is smart they can so call beat TNA but TNA is on there game and wwe is doing a bunch of stupid stupid things when they have the talent to do great things its just sad to see wwe do crappy angles.

wwe should consider themselves lucky. In this industry you can't survive without competition to push your limits. This will either be great for both companies or terrible for both companies, and either way it is good for fans.
