Jim Ross has posted yet another blog. He discussed a variety of topics including WWE programming now being aimed at children. Here is what he has to say on the matter... - PG rated wrestling shows.....that 's what the WWE is offering and that's what my primary area of concern is because that who employs me and pays me. I personally like the PG ratings for many reasons. Selfishly, now my daughter will allow her 5 and 3 year old daughters to watch their grandpa on Friday nights because the program content isn't as edgy and doesn't have to be constantly monitored or at least monitored as closely. - Did I enjoy the "attitude era" of wrestling? Absolutely. I also enjoyed the Oklahoma Sooners of Coach Barry Switzer running the wishbone offense but that's not the offensive philosophy of Coach Bob Stoops' Sooners these days. But I still love my team. Point being is that I am a wrestling fan and we as wrestling fans will always have our favorite eras. Was the "Attitude Era" my favorite period of all time in wrestling? Probably not, but I still liked it as I have written. But now we've moved on.

I hardly doubt WCW would have had any chance to win the wars. WCW has a huge "talent drain" due to horrible backstage politics. Nash and Hall bullied anyone who wasn't a main eventer, which drove their smaller, talented stars away like Benoit, Eddie, Malenko,... right into WWE's arms. On op of things, Russo did more horrible things in WCW than Vince does now in WWE. And JR has a point in that the Attitude Era is done. Not only does everything have to be more political correct now (in general, not just in WWE), there are other superstars, and there is the internet. Yes, I believe that internet communites have taken a lot away from "wrestlings magic", it exposes the business a lot more than CCW, Tough Enough or even that MTV wrestling show could do. On top of which, if you go on the internet and all you hear is "this is bad, and this little detail wasn't done well, there was a small booking error here, only kids like wrestler X and this unknown superstar knows more holds", you're gonna dislike the product more.

I think they should bring back the attitude, now its a little boring for the adults, a little more DX and a little more sacrifice for the things the crowd likes, a little nudity wouldn't hurt either, maybe have a main a event that's rated MA 15+ so the adults can get a kick out of it as well!

God another reason i hope CHOKElahoma loses the BCS title game, because fata$$ JR talks about them more than he does wrestling. And the Attitude era rocked, the fact that he's talking about his 5 and 3 year old grandchildren watching wrestling shows how far it's fallin into oblivion!
