jr is perhaps the greatest play by play guy in all of sports entertainment and move names or no hes a hell of a lot better than tazz i mean "its going to be off the chain" O.o

I saw this article up a couple of days ago, and i have been wondering, does anyone know what play by play means, will he call every match or just the big matches or what? can someone please reply

To Rofl Kid: Traditionally, broadcast teams consist of two people; a play-by-play announcer and a color commentator. Going back to the days of radio, the play-by-play, usually a trained journalist, describes the action while the color commentator, usually a retired athlete, explains the strategy and situations for the understanding of a casual fan. But, WWE gave up that breakdown 10 or 15 years ago. Now both members of the broadcast team mostly just tell stories to try to enhance the match. On TV they try to set up the PPV, and at the PPV they sum up what brought everything to that point. Basically though, JR will be returning to the role he has had for many years as the play-by-play guy. Who knows whether he will only work SmackDown matches or what.

LOL....no one calls "play by play" any more in WWE. That would require them to know what moves are called.

Agreed #10. I don't know how often I hear a commentator call a move by a totally wrong name and I cringe. At least TNA has Taz who knows the move names.
