On his latest Q&A, Jim Ross referred to former wrestler Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, being critizised for leaving the wrestling business and pursuing an acting career:
"Those that say that (that Johnson is a sellout) come off sounding ignorant in my view."
Ross had nothing but good words when referring to The Rock's achievements on his WWF/WWE years:
"Dwayne's work ethic while he was in WWE was beyond approach as was his character. He was never a problem and no one ever put forth more effort in the ring. The results he attained are documented."
He also has some doubts if some of the critics would not do the same:
There may be some who say they would not have done what Dwayne did which was simply change vocations/jobs but the vast majority of wrestlers that I have ever known would have done the same thing if given the opportunity"

Personally i'm just happy no seeing him everyweek. So if he wants to act or drive a cab or start a resturant serving jabronni and cheese past with pie for the rest of his life as long as he doesn't open the resturant in my town i'm cool with it

JR has turned into a tool and nothing more than a hood ornament, his opinions are dictating from WWE.

NO ONE IS SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT HIS TIME IN WWE.I STILL LIKE THE ROCK AND ALWAYS ENJOYED WATCHING HIM.HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES.BUT HE HAS TURNED HIS BACK ON HIS WRESTLING FANS.NO ONE IS ASKING HIM TO WRESTLE,JUST SHOW UP ABOUT 1 OR 2 TIMES A YEAR AND TALK SOME SMACK TO THE OTHER WRESTLERS AND REMIND US WHAT THE ATTITUDE ERA WAS ALL ABOUT.HE CANT EVEN DO THAT BUT HE SURE DOESNT MIND RUNNING ADS FOR HIS NEW MOVIES DURING RAW. IM JUST SAYING.

Calling him a sellout is just plain stupid. I mean, we left the WWE to pursue bigger and better things, but what is he doing now thats so damn different? The whole damn point of the WWE is Entertainment, hell thats what the E stands for. The whole business is entertainment first with a little bit of "wrestling" on the side. A true sellout is kurt angle going from real wrestling to the WWE, but i still respect kurt for getting to that point and making somethin of himself. Fact is the Rock is doing the same thing now that he was doing with the WWE, entertaining the millions and millions of the Rocks fans, just sit back and enjoy the movies, and if you don't like them, don't buy a ticket.

the rock is my all time favorite wrestler but i agree with the third comment.the rock should have just showed up every 2 months and should have said his catch phrases and raised his eyebrow, but he didnt even do that for his MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of fans.
