Kevin Kelly Disses Punk

Back to home
Kevin Kelly, the former WWE employee The Rock so kindly referred to as an ugly herm... nevermind.

The point is he had some words about CM Punk NOT getting over with the crowd. KK said:

"CM Punk is being made to look like steaming, worthless dog turd as they saddle him with terrible dance partners in JBL, Batista and Kane.

If CM Punk was more than just a transitional champion, he would be programmed against more suitable opponents. JBL is the only hope as he can be a brutal, bully heel who will make Punk sell and get over as a gutsy champion with more guts than brains. As it is now, Punk isn't getting over and sooner or later, it will be labeled a failed experiment.
"

He seems to have a point... because the fans still cheer for Batista and Kane louder than Punk...

I think this was to make Batista a heel, now he will have a rivalry with Cena. maybe a 3-way between kane JBL and Punk? I haven't heard anything but that is what I am guessing.

I'm all for keeping the belt on Punk through WM so he can feud with Orton when he gets back. That would put him over. I agree that Batista should turn heel as he takes on Cena. As for Kane, I think no matter what they do, the crowd won't let him go heel. They should still put the mask on him and let him act like a heel, but he the crowd will cheer. Kane (w/ mask) against JBL would be a good feud.

When Punk fought Batista, I was more hyped up about seeing Kane. Kane STOLE the spotlight for this one, Punk can rest in peace.

i dont think kelly is dissing punk here... its more like saying the way they use punk makes him look bad, not that he is bad...

Does anyone else remember all the fanboys who wanted Punk to win the belt after his debut? Forums lit up with anti-Cena, pro-Punk, and now it's... well, still anti-Cena and for some reason, anti-Punk. The bright side is: No more HHH on Raw hogging the spotlight and no meathead Batista slowing down matches as a champ. Raw is different and I like it!

It's just good to finally see another smaller size wrestler getting pushed. The last few years has been miserable. I think the last time a wrestler the size of Punk was pushed was when Eddie Guerrero was the champ. Champion this size are very few and in between, who knows how many more years will pass before we seen another one this size? Or maybe the size of Mysterio.

I like Punk as champ. It just doesn't make sense to have him as a face, and his two top contenders also basically popular and more established faces if they want him getting over. Go ahead and have the triple threat with Batista and Kane since they already painted themselves in that corner and have Kane and Batista destroy eachother in the match so Punk gets the upset win, then he can face a returning William Regal on Raw, maybe defend against JBL again while Jericho finishes up with Michaels, then I would LOVE to see a CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho feud, and then finally he could face Orton when he returns. Depending on how long they want the Jericho/Michaels feud to last, they could also have Punk pull a Bret Hart and go on a "fighting champion" streak, defending the title every week against midcard opponents like Carlito, people he could have good solid matches with and win decisively to establish himself as a credible champion, then face the big guys on PPVs. I think in the long run a feud with either Jericho or Randy Orton will make him, or if they ever decide to turn Cena heel...

I agree with what kk said. The crowd love Kane and Batista and cm punk will have to live with it. I hope he loses the belt to Kane and then Batista can turn. cm punk can then win a more fitting title.

If Punk gets the belt until WM, almost the entire Internet Wrestling Community will hate his guts, mark my words. Punk's popularity is based on two things. 1. The phrase "Watch his ROH stuff." 2. Him being ignored by Vince. Yes, it's true, whoever gets pushed, almost always gets hated on the internet. Punk was some sort of "underground star" being pushed down by the big man, and now he is a mainstream superstar, because he holds the big belt. Internet idols just can't have succes, or their fans turn on them. I always predicted a lot of his fans would turn against him once he wins the big one, I just never thought it would happen so soon.

That thing of Batista and Kane are more popular than CM Punk, I dont think that. For me CM Punk and Kane are a great Tag Team, but Batista is losing to much popularity.
