Major Plans for WWE Brand

According to the source, the WWE is still planning on doing a major overhaul of the ECW brand.
However it is now being speculated that these plans and changes won't be made until after Wrestlemania. Many SyFy executives have been nagging and pushing for the changes to be made by the WWE. Some of changes that are being thought of are:
- Renaming the name of the brand and completely drop the ECW letters
- Focus on more younger stars
- Incorporate more Science Fiction orientated storylines and conspiracy theory type angles

    First one would be helpful, so misleading when it stands for "Extreme Championship Wrestling" When it's not extreme, there is one championship in the entire brand and it's hardly considered wrestling due to the lack of organisation.

    Focusing on younger stars is what WWE needs to do.

    Wtf? That is probably the... BEST idea I've ever heard! That would be gold, bring back Kevin Thorn, then bring back CM Punk and use his straightedge-ness and brain washing abilities as a fictional storyline.

    Science Fiction storylines? Well it may be a sort of so bad it's good turn to ECW. It'll certainly make ECW stranger which may be a good thing.

    For a great businessman, Vince does some incredibly dumb things at times. How about a wrestling show that's extreme with chairs and blood and stuff like that, I mean surely they have that somewhere.......

    All I have to say is that if they drop ECW and change the name, they will be alienating the rest of the ECW fanbase. If anything, they should just focus on the young talent; Christian and Regal are good enough face and heel notables to lead each side.

    Well, since it's on the SyFy network, maybe incorporating more sci-fi elements will help draw in new wrestling fans who already watch the network. Not that the people on this site could actually think that logically.

    I guess it would make more sense to put some science fiction elements into ECW. After all, it's ironically been on the "SyFy" channel for a long time now...
    There's that and the new ECW has hardly been anything like what it used to be (basically a kid-friendly extension of WWE nowadays), so in my opinion, a name change wouldn't hurt.
    As for possible angles, if anything, they'll probably make the supernatural angles somewhat believable like a heel having schitzophrenia (or perhaps a visit to a fortune teller lol)...
    All that aside, I'd watch it just for the curiosity of what silly or cheesy angles ECW (or whatever they're going to call it) is going to pull off XD

    Don't care about the storyline angle much, but if they started focusing on younger talent, and letting the guys they have do what they're capable of, I might actually start watching it again, I gave up on mainstream wrestling a long time ago, but it's not easy finding a good indy fed that tapes it's shows. On a different note, if anyone knows where I can watch CHIKARA, or any Puro feds, PM me.
