Updated: 'World Strongest Man' Mark Henry Arrested

Mark Henry was arrested and issued an "adult caution" after being involved in an incident last weekend at The Hilton in Belfast, Ireland.

WWE fan James McClay spoke to the Derry journal: "I was trying to get as many signatures as possible on the card and my collectors book. Mark Henry was abusive and ignorant but I got his signature and walked away. Suddenly he threw a drink around me from behind."

"I turned around to see him stand and square up to me, suddenly John Cena and Randy Orton grabbed his arms and held him back. I honestly thought I was in one of the plot lines back stage. I felt like I was watching this happen to someone else. Suddenly Chavo Guerrero piped up egging Mark Henry on, that really annoyed me as I am a fan of his. I thought this is going to get really bad as all these wrestlers were on their feet."

"He kept saying 'Where I'm from you do something when someone throws a drink around you'  continues James as he recalled Mark calling him "little punk bitch."


The Journal confirmed that Mark Henry was arrested and given an adult caution following the fracas.

James McCay says he is a great wrestling fan and attended the event at The Odyssey on Sunday and booked the same hotel as the stars of the ring. That night, at the bar, he found himself along the among the stars of the WWE and asked several of them to sign a birthday card for his ten year old son Jack.


Suddenly WWE security appeared and escorted James out of the bar.

"The wrestlers were all genuinely nice people Jamie Noble, Randy Orton, John Cena, Ted DiBiase, Hornswoggle, William Regal, Seamus and even Mark Henry signed the card but then it all kicked off and I was left in shock. It ruined the weekend to be honest, I was left humiliated afterward. He did this soaking me and my fiancee and our friend. The birthday card is all covered in drink also."


"I don't mind going there but I don't think I'll go back to Belfast - what if he comes into the hotel bar again?"

Meanwhile Jim Ross talked about the even on his latest blog: "I wasn't there. I heard one side of the story of which there are always two. I like Mark Henry, even if he is a Texas Longhorn fan (that's a joke), and feel that this matter may have simply perhaps been a 'rib' gone awry involving some very tired, frustrated travelers. Think of it this way, if Mark Henry had really wanted to assault a fan who could have truly restrained Mark?"

"Mark Henry isn't a dumb guy nor is he going to put himself and WWE in a position to where Mark is arrested and detained in a foreign country. Not withstanding the fact that Henry would likely be sued for all he has by the offended party. Again, I wasn't there but I know that under normal circumstances that Mark Henry is a good natured man of character who I have known for years since we signed him in around 1995 or 96."

   will he be fired like Mickie James? being arrested and attacking a fan is far worse than Mickie being late ... or not?

   Wow, My bet is that the fan did a little more then ask. If I had hundreds of people asking for my autograph all day long, I probably would have thrown more then the cup. If I had been Mark Henry and actually snapped, that man would be dodging couches.

   wow once again the lack of commen sense rears its head see comment 2 and speak for yourself. anyways if i was James McClay i would be mad at the way i was being treated and at the loss the card.

   What the hell, is Mark Henry stupid, throwing a drink and hitting a Irishman, who knows if he was a Proddy or a Catholic, over there thats means something, after all it was in Dublin, Mark Henry should apologise to the irish before a lawsuit against him happenes or something else
