Matt Hardy interview

Back to home

Matt Hardy was recently on an interview conducted by SCNow.com. During the interview the ECW Champ was asked about his favourite match in his career. He had words regarding his matches against Edge and Finlay:

"The one that stands out to me is my cage match versus Edge (Unforgiven 2005, Matt won) (...) The leg drop off the top of the cage. But then again, my most recent match with Finlay, it went almost 25 minutes. He's amazing. He has been in the business for 25 years and he still moves like a young guy."

He also noted the reason of the high-flying wrestling style of The Hardy Boyz:

"I think earlier on when we entered (WWE) the guys were just a lot bigger. For us to survive, we had to take risks, be high-flying," Hardy said. "We figured that would electrify the fans. If they never knew what to expect, it'd be something they remember."

I have the utmost respect for Matt Hardy. He and Jeff together turned out some of the BEST tag-team match performances that I've ever seen. The most notable (to me) was the T, L, C match. It was...in a single word...UNBELIEVABLE! Plus, you KNOW a match is good when they do not 1, not 3, not 7, but 20 replays within the match! Those guys totally OWNED the tag team world...with appropriate credit going to Edge & Christian, and The Dudley Boys.
