Nicholas Cage on why he wasn't "The Ram"

Opposite to the common idea that it was director Aronofsky who preferred Mickey Rourke rather than Nicholas Cage for the role of Randy "The Ram" in The Wrestler, it was Cage who dismissed participating in the film.

According Nicholas Cage, who talked to Access Hollywood, he didn't have "enough time to achieve the look of the wrestler who was on steroids, which I [Cage] would never do."

The actor did have a short training period with Afa the Wild Samoan in Allentown, PA.

considering he is a scrawny little twerp, I don't think it would be possible for him to get big enough. Besides, he is a worse actor than Mickey Rourke. All he has left is his name. Has anyone seen any of his horrible movies lately?

This would have been even worse than Hulk Hogan playing the role...I just hate Nicolas Cage...he hasn't made a good movie in forever.
I am wondering if the first commenter actually saw The Wrestler - Mickey Rourke was incredible in the role - and I thought he was good in Sin City also - the guy cant be called a bad actor IMO...
